Terrible service. They are awful to deal with and overcharge. What a mistake to choose them.

After three years of service from this company this year the man who shut down my pool decided to step on all of my hydrangeas and when one of them was simply in his way he ripped it out and left it in the middle of my bluestone terrace. When I went outside I was shocked to see all of my bushes trampled on and destroyed and this one pulled out and left on the bluestone. The worst part of the whole story is when I emailed them to share my horror they didn't seem to care and said they would not replace any of them. To top it all off I decided not to pay my astronomical closing bill as they wouldn't compensate me for the damage and they put it through without my consent to my American Express card. I would highly recommend if you are looking for good service to stay clear of this company. read more

BEWARE! I had heard that owner was difficult but she's a friend of the real estate broker so I gave her a shot. Mistake. Awful experience. Owner was altogether rude (screamed & told me she was doing me a favor) and way overpriced. The office staff is equally artless. Facts: My regular independent pool guy advised of a leak at the skimmer. My Home Buyer requested letter indicating disposition of pool. I called this company & spoke with Shira (owner) and explained that I sought to repair pool & secure the "Sale letter" from an established company. After paying $1,100+ this company told me nothing new. Yes, Skimmer had leak. Where in skimmer pipes? That info would cost an additional $250. They proposed repair @ $3,500 - even though they ostensibly didn't know where leak was located. Another company quoted just $1,500. Finally: this company refused to provide the sale letter - even though that was what I specifically requested at the get-go. Seriously? Then why did I hire them & spend $1,100? Btw, on some sites you will find a 5-STAR review from Robert BARZILAY? He's the PRESIDENT & CO-OWNER. How's that for honesty & integrity? Friends, there are so many honorable and economical pool companies serving the East End, stay far away from this one. read more

Bob is such a gentleman. We have used proper ph for 7 years. This morning my heater wasn't working and with a house full of kids I called them. He came right out and it was actually my fault I hadn't realized it was on a timer. He was very cheerful about it even though I had inconvenienced him. Our pool is sparkling clear and great and we are very happy with the service we receive here in Sagaponack. read more

I too wish I could give them a 0...totally rude and most of all incompetent...I had a pool that was turning GREEN and instead of finding out the problem they were blaming me and my water, kept putting in more chemicals...the water was city water, why wasn't everyones pool green!!! I did a water test and found out it was high in copper, the water had been cycling through the turned off water heater!!! once I removed heater it turned blue...they never even tested to see why it was green ....BUT IT WAS MY FAULT THAT THE WATER WAS GREEN, YOU NEVER EVEN TESTED THE WATER!!! Proper PH is the most responsive service provider I have worked with in the Hamptons. Whenever we have an issue or question about our pool they respond promptly and if necessary send someone to check it out. Bob is so knowledgeable and the person who cleans our pool twice a week is very thorough. Their bills are fair and timely. While I know there are cheaper companies, I would far rather pay their price for the service they provide - it's worth every penny. I recommend Proper PH to everyone I know because they are the only service provider that I know I can relay on when it comes to maintaining my Hamptons property. read more

If you're thinking of poor service and quality, this is the pool cleaning service for you. I kept these guys since they were originally servicing the house I purchased but I had all sorts of trouble. The pool was in poor condition including the liner, filtration, etc. Not once did they recommend anything from their end. Then everything they offered to replace was extremely expensive. I love Proper PH! We have a summer home in East Hampton and they installed a gorgeous gunite pool for us about 5 years ago and have maintained it each summer since. I love that my family and friends can use the house and I never have to worry about the pool because it is always crystal clear and beautiful. The customer service is fantastic, especially Ursula. She always takes the time to explain everything thoroughly to me and help me make the best decisions for my pool. I could not recommend them more. read more

Awful, rude, customer service. We are loyal customers; used two pool companies , each for more than ten years and ended up with proper ph for three years of misery. We should have stopped using them after the first year of nasty customer service, but kept thinking it was just one individual. It became worse each year revealing a company policy of deflecting all responsibility for the basic pool service we contracted for. read more

Incredible service from an amazing Pool Company. We couldn't fine someone to fix our heater, the manufacture recommend Proper pH and they came right away and fixed the issue. We switched to them for full service and had the best summer swim season ever. wish we called them years ago.
