a bar with a variety of beers

Good beer, nice atmosphere, cool staff. Stopped by for a flight and was happy about my choice. Decent selection of beers and a cute propeller the flights are served in. If you get three flights, it makes a whole prop. Pretty cool.

Solid brew choices, awesome tastes! Propeller was maybe the best brewery we visited in Halifax. The atmosphere in the tap room is relaxed and the guys behind the counter will take care of your choices timely! One can also buy cans for home in the front section of the brewery, so we did as we fell in love with some of the beers. My favorites: Galaxy and Peachberry Sour! A lot of excellent choices for for IPA lovers too! Must try for beer lovers!

Propeller Brewing has a nice little dog-friendly taproom where you can try their wide variety of beer. Located just down the road from a number of good restaurants (EDNA, the Foggy Goggle, etc) this makes for a nice pre or post dinner stop. Propeller is one of the three breweries I would definitely recommend trying, along with Unfiltered and Good Robot. I particularly liked their Stone Fruit Ale, Dark Berry Sour, and IPAs.

I'm only reviewing on the venue/storefront itself. I don't drink so can't review their beer (although I do love their root beer). I went to an event for my friends business. It's a really nice space. I love the windows done with glass bottles and the bar with the gorgeous propeller. It's really lovely! The gentleman working was also really nice and friendly as well.

When I walked into Propeller, I was not a beer person. Now I can say I am a Prosecco AND beer person. I also got to visit with the Aaron Emery, the Marketing Director and was inspired by his passion for brewing & beer. He walked me through a flight and had me believing! Because I'm not a beer person (or reformed) I don't remember everything but I DO know I really liked the "ESB" ("Extra Special Brew" or "English Style Batch") - it copper colored, Smooth and Full bodied! Another reason I dig Propellor: they collaborate with one of my other Halifax favorites, Halifax Distilling - their ginger beer is used in the Halifax Distilling Stormy Weather drink. The place has an old school feel with an updated & clean interior. Great spot to pop in for a tasting or a beer with friends.

This was my first time in the Propeller Brewing Company. There were a few people here and some were getting samples of the beer before buying, which I think was great. We however were not there to buy Beer, I know why go there. We were there to buy some of their pop. We thought for some crazy reason, that because they allowed samples of beer, we could get a sample of one flavor of the pop , the orange. They carry four flavours of pop, we knew we wanted the root beer, but we had not tried the orange or the other kinds. When we asked the girl behind the counter if we could have a sample of the orange, she popped a head like we were crazy, and point blank said no. That was it and just stood behind the counter. My gosh you think we were asking for the recipe or something. She definitely needs a few pointers on customer service and would it hurt to crack a smile. We ended up buying only one orange to try and the rest root beer.

The little brewery that could. High quality, heavenly beer that packs a flavor punch. They never disappoint, but this year they really outdid themselves. As always, the pumpkin ale was sublime. The Nocturne Ale, however, is out of this world. One tip- If you're running in to pick up a few pints, don't park in the Staples parking lot...the security guard will have a word with you. That being said, it's worth the tongue lashing once you return to your car.

Great beers (especially the Passion Fruit Sour) to go with a couple craft sodas. Highly recommend to those in the Halifax area!

The beer on tap at the brewery changes seasonally (what up pumpkin ale?) but my favourite standbys were the IPA and bitter.

Their flight blocks are cute and fun and made out to resemble a little train cart. They have 9 taps for beer and have quite the selection. Currently they have 'good grief charlie' a brown ale and 'wheat in the knees' which were all amazing. They have a tiny kitchen with a small but heart menu of salads, chilli cheese dogs and flatbreads (and a few other things). The staff are absolutely amazing, knowledgeable and will do anything for you, as someone who prefers a root beer to beer - they went out of their way to get me a sprite (which blew my mind). My partner absolutely enjoyed this lovely time. They also have a few games to play! Highly recommend this little brewery, it's small but it is mighty delicious.

Follow them on Facebook and Twitter and I think Instagram too - so you know their hours, what's new on tap, what's on the guest taps (buy local!). Trivia night #2 was a success! We ordered pizza this time from Rocky Lake Pizza across the street and omg that was the perfect meal paired with the perfect Off Track brew. I had the Sessional IPA on tap 8 (I forgot the name) and it was soooo tasty that I had two (not like me). The rest of my party went for the Damn Skippy (peanut butter mmmmm - you have to try it). Flights are a way to sample several brews - usually I do that. Love the merch! Normally, I don't buy this stuff from places but I have several items already and I'm most definitely getting the zip up hoodie next time. Lots more I can say, like... Dog friendly establishment. Projector for watching "the sports". Clean. Friendly faces - who will explain the various brews on tap. No kitchen - but you can bring your food there - ask the guys, they'll be happy to help.

They also do not fill any growlers that aren't their own (unheard of for micro breweries.. i consider it a hobby to travel to different breweries and fill existing growlers). She then suggested i could get some different cans BUT didn't tell me they only sell 6 packs of each one. the entire point of a craft brewery is sampling different ones. if the woman serving me had been helpful or friendly that would have compensated for their other short comings.
