Food is amazing, service was great and fast, and the lemonade is homemade. H.

First time to the shipwright. We had been traveling all day and had trouble finding a restaurant when we arrived. We stumbled into this place and were so happy we did. The service was very friendly and prompt. We ordered a pepperoni pizza and some Bo which tasted amazing. What view of the harbor with perfect ambience . I will be going back if I can this week if not I'll go next time. Thank you so much for recovering my first day in Lunemburg

Best brewery I visited in Nova Scotia. Well, only visited one other and this was great. Good staff, knowledgeable and try hard. They only stated in Dec 2018 and master brewer is Kelly (female) and from what I heard she rocks. I wish them well and hope to see them at GABF. Thanks Shawn for being a good host.

Excellent views of the haurbour. Really good lobster roll and breakfast. And the IPA 8% beer is even better.

Great place in the Lunenburg. Delicious options! Great service. This place is open later than another place in town.

So I went to meet up with my friends, and brought my own water bottle because I dont think it's right to be made to pay for water. The man behind the bar stormed across the floor, yelling at me that I couldn't have it in there And that it was against liquor laws. I understand that, and so I told the bar tender why I had brought my own bottle, after being refused water before and he says "oh that doesn't happen here". I've never been treated so disrespectfully by any food/ drink establishment before. My friends agreed that the way I was spoken to was completely unacceptable. Revolting experience, and quite upsetting to be treated the way I was. I will never return and will recommend patrons and musical acts to not support this establishment.

If you are into craft beer, I would highly recommend that you check out this little home of beer. You will not be disappointed!

They may not have a ton of signage on the road, but the red roof of the brewhouse is sign enough. There's fields of lines for hops, currently unused due to drainage issues, we were told, the brewhouse and acres of other fields. Our stop in the brewhouse got us some samples and paid 4oz tasters of their beer, and I got a 1L growler of their wheat beer for $13, including the bottle deposit. While they don't take returns, they will refill any brand of growler, for a very reasonable price of $6-7. There's also several kinds of lavender-scented beauty and hygiene products for sale, since that's one of their other main crops. The friendly owners suggested we take a stroll down the path to see their pigs, turkeys, and chickens, and it wasn't only my 3 year old niece that enjoyed this. If you're touring through the valley-ish area, you should definitely make a stop in at Meander River.

It is definitely off the beaten path but that is part of its charm. It is a family run farm and brewery. I am not sure if you can get a more "local" beer. They grow their own hops (among a few other things) and brew it on site. I am not a beer drinker, but what I tried was nice. My husband really liked the Honey Brown Ale. I was lucky enough to have a taste of their Cider. It was excellent - super flavorful and crisp. I would have taken some with me but it wasn't all ready yet. They also grown their own lavender and have different lavender products. Aside from a great product, it was very interesting to hear the family's story. The farm has been in the family for a long time although the building and brewery is much newer. We ended up staying for quite a long time hanging out with Alan, Brenda and Campbell. Very hospitable and their passion is self-evident. They also offer farm tours and heck you can sign up for a hand-on experience. Highly recommend! It was a unique experience.

The nachos were just okay, not the worst I have had but also no where near the best. The fig & caramelized onion pizza also was just okay. Needs more flavour. Had the beer flight and surprisingly the blueberry sour was the best of the four, the others I wouldn't have again. The others had wine flights and they didn't like any of the selections. Service was slow but they were busy. We did notice other tables that arrived after us got served quicker. Not a lot of follow up to check on us. Very nice location and the view is quite nice. Would go back sometime to try the pasta but there are better places for wine and beer fairly close by.

**Disappointing visit, and the service made it worse**…read more We visited Bent Ridge on Father's Day hoping for a relaxed family afternoon, and left genuinely frustrated, mostly because of how we were treated. We ordered the Grilled Watermelon Salad ($21.50). The menu describes it as grilled watermelon, fresh berries, red onion and mint on a bed of arugula. What arrived was essentially a bowl of arugula and spinach with red onion and a sprinkle of feta, and almost no watermelon to speak of. When we politely pointed this out, the second server who took the salad back was lovely about it and said she'd check with the kitchen. That's where it went downhill. She returned with the primary server, who was dismissive from the start. We were told they could add watermelon on the side, but only as an upcharge. We declined. We were then told we'd be charged for the original salad regardless. Fine, we said, charge us, but we don't need it back. Despite that, the salad reappeared at the table with a tiny cup of watermelon, and the response was a flat "well, it's already here." When we asked whether this is really what a watermelon salad is meant to be, since we've had this dish at plenty of other restaurants and it has never been arugula with a few cubes of watermelon hidden in it, the answer was that the watermelon is "just like the berries, a little topping." At that point we cleared our own plates onto the side table for them to collect. What needs to be said plainly is this: we were a group of 12 with a bill of around $700. Paying was never the issue, and a $21 salad is no big deal. But the audacity of the server to assume we were doing all this just to haggle a salad out of them was ridiculous. We can't tell a kitchen how to build their salad, and tastes vary. But the watermelon is named first in the dish, it arrived in nowhere near the quantity advertised, and being upsold to get the main ingredient is hard to defend. Speaking to paying customers that way is simply not acceptable. And of course, she did remember to add the 18% gratuity for her tremendous service. To top it off, we'd brought a cake to celebrate Father's Day and asked if we could cut it. We were told no outside food allowed, full stop. The Annapolis Valley has no shortage of excellent wineries where a family can actually feel welcome and enjoy the afternoon. We won't be returning to this one.

The staff used to be excited to see us, friendly, patient, kind and open. But the atmosphere has changed completely. We have been approached with disgust and apathy, a complete lack of care and the atmosphere is not what it was in 2022. We have given smokehouse chance after chance chopping it up to "a bad day for the staff" but after our last interaction it's become clear that smokehouse is not interested in their average client and more interested in catering only to the big parties. Smokehouse has turned from being a small town pub to a bar only interested in their bottom line and unless you're one of their few regulars you can expect to be treated as such
