Cinnamon Bun
Raymond M.

Just stopped in for the first time in awhile. Had a really good cinnamon bun and a cup of tea. Excellent! Lots of baking on the daily specials menu, several pies, etc. Service was friendly, prices are excellent.

Amazing little spot looking over the Sea. The staff very friendly. Food amazing and reasonably price for what you get. Lobster rolls really good. And the crunchy lobster burger my daughter loved. Worth the drive.

Food from 6am to 8pm

The world's best coconut cream pie!!! Seafood chowder and a brown bread grilled cheese was terrific on a very cool rainy day.

Our resident vegetarian even made an exception and tried some. Even something as unassuming as a grilled cheese sandwich? The BEST grilled cheese I've ever had. Delicious cheddar, perfectly grilled to the crispiest, crunchiest, tastiest, yum level ever. I'd tell you about my son's burger but he inhaled it so fast I couldn't get an accurate description other than it was "10/10, would eat again." And they had ice cream! Though we were full. Others stopped by just for that. If you're on the way to Peggy's Cove or on the way back, you HAVE TO STOP HERE. Oh, we had some cherry square/bar that was great

It was quite expensive for what it was. For two turkey sandwiches (with no side), a loaf of bread and two squares it was almost $50! The sandwiches were mediocre. The ingredients and bread were all fine - but that's it, just fine. Definitely not worth the price - it would have been $3-$4 cheaper to get a hamburger than it was a plain turkey sandwich. It was a hit and a miss - we'll keep going back for a sweet treat but in the nicest way possible you can get a much better and cheaper lunch elsewhere.

The scallop linguini was amazing, featuring Adams & Knickle scallops, Oulton's smoked bacon, arugula, garlic, and Parmesan. The combination of fresh local scallops with the smoky bacon and greens was absolutely delicious. Love seeing local ingredients showcased this well! Their lobster roll was also one of the best we've had. Great seasoning with tarragon, mayo, celery, and greens, all tucked into a homemade roll. Simple, fresh, and perfectly balanced. The seafood linguini was basically Nova Scotia on a plate... loaded with scallops, mussels, and shrimp. We absolutely loved it... although it could have used just one more local ingredient: lobster! And then there was the linguine limone, which was another standout. Bright, fresh lemon zest with toasted pine nuts made for a fantastic pasta. By the end, there was absolutely no room for dessert which is probably a good sign of how much we enjoyed the meal! Great local ingredients, generous portions, and delicious seafood. A must-try when visiting Lunenburg.

The patio setup is absolutely gorgeous, with views of the Bluenose II and many other ships along the shoreline. The service was also very friendly. Food-wise, the portion was EXTREMELY satisfying. At $34, it's probably one of the biggest lobster rolls around, filled to the top with lobster meat (I also LOVED that they used arugula instead of lettuce). It's worth every penny. The chowder was also very nice - piping hot and full of seafood and potatoes. The potato wedges? Big, phat wedges that were probably made from two whole russet potatoes, paired with a super creamy and delicious, pepper-forward aioli. Yes and love it!! A few things that could be improved with the food, though: The lobster roll could use some additional seasoning/dressing. Cold lobster rolls often need a bit more seasoning or dressing since the meat itself isn't as flavour-forward as it is in warm rolls. The chowder was great, but I usually prefer mine to be creamier and thicker. Lastly, the potato wedges could use a bit more crispiness on the exterior to elevate them to perfection. Perhaps a double fry? Overall, I think this restaurant is still worth every penny, especially considering the generous portions and how extremely fresh the food is. I really enjoyed my meal.

Hi! WELL, what a pleasant surprise! A new Restaurant…read morethat sprung up! We arrived just as they closed, haha... but they let us in to chat and buy some of their DELICIOUS baking... Which is ALL made from scratch!! All their Breads are home made and NOT brought in, like at the Rose Bistro down the road.... The owner of this "Hungry Traveler" and their staff are warm and kind people! There is outside Patio Seating, TONS of Parking, and it's at: 10117 Highway 3... Phone: 902-518-2535 .... It's on the way to the Rose Bistro, [which we will NEVER patronize again]... Their menu is "All Day Breakfast"... and Sandwich type Brunch! They also cater trays... They have a "Build your OWN" Breakfast... The place is seemingly serene... [with none of the 'out of control' kids or over-crowding, like at that Rose Bistro down the road]... Their food offerings are cheaper and budget friendly....And they do not 'push you through' to get to the next customer, like the Bistro... The Brunch Sandwiches look amazing... and we intend to eat our way through their menu offerings!! The Sandwiches are decent sized... with HOME-MADE Bread!! We are going back for their Vietnamese Sandwich... It's traditional, right down to the marinated Chicken, Pickled Daikon & Carrot Slaw, fresh Cilantro etc.... The Curried Chicken looks great, and so does the Vegan Mashed Buffalo Chick Peas... It will be hard to decide what to eat after the Vietnamese Sandwich for sure!!! And the place is immaculate! The "Hungry Traveler" has our attention and our cash! Reading between the lines, you can probably tell we had just experienced "A Brunch from hell" at the Rose Bistro down the road... screaming/crying kids...Parents ignoring the bad behavior, some were running around... ...We grabbed our cutlery and water and went outside... We DIDN'T enjoy our meal which cost around $48.00 ... We had some nice times there, but are fed up with the WILDLIFE... this was a BOMB...and we will never return.

It's your standard Eggs Benny sandwiched between two thick slices of homemade bread (your choice of white, whole wheat or multigrain - no less!) and a bowl of some of the tastiest Hollandaise I've found in the past few months. All tucked away in an unassuming, down-home diner in Port Williams - a quick drive from downtown Wolfville! More people need to know about this! Four tables covered in business cards of diners-gone-by are set up in a space about the size of a loading elevator surrounded by antiques and collectibles of all kinds including a very important sign: 'Patience required as good food takes time to prepare.' Why so important? Well, there's only one person cooking back there. ONE. If she doesn't make it, you're not eating it. It makes for consistently hearty and satisfying meals, but it does increase your wait time. Portions are HUGE (actually, the burgers border on obscene...), everything is made fresh on site, and the prices are more than affordable considering what you get! And on that note, hit up an ATM at the corner store next door since it's all cash only!

Even when it was only half full we overhead the waitress welcoming new customers with "We will get to you as soon as we can". The waits weren't long, and the food was great! I rediscovered the origins of hash browns in their culturally authentic Acadian grated potato pancakes - the size of a Frisbee. Crunchy on the outside and soft inside. Lots of potato flavour! The middle sized breakfast was huge - eggs, bacon, home fries and great homemade bread. Annnd - one can substitute the potato pancakes for home fries!!!! Unfortunately it can't get a 5 star because they were seen reusing the homemade jam from the individual servings - scrape the top, smooth it out and add more to the top. As much as I encourage good economics of not throwing out tons of jam - this isn't a great practise:-( So, I leave it to your judgement - food great, space small, cash only and great prices. I hope they survive and thrive in Port Williams.
