Tim talked with me on the phone about a minor problem we were having with some rats out back. He also sent his associate out to have a look and to consult with me. Sensing I was pretty handy and willing to do the work, they suggested some solutions for managing the situation myself - both for the short and long term. So far, the results have been stellar. So....horrible smell in our house. Two guys came out and spent over 2 hours at our house, checking to ensure it was sealed well and of course, checking our crawl space and home for a dead animal. They could isolate the smell and location, but unfortunately no crawl space access was in the vicinity of the problem. They sprayed and sealed one area of our home, and they tried very hard to remove the problem, but could not. They were professional, patient with my very excited kids, and were thorough. A few weeks later, still smelling. Another guy came out, and diagnosed our issue was not a dead animal but something else going on. While I wish they had diagnosed it the first visit, I also realize without having crawl space, it is tough. The second guy did not charge me and gave me lots of suggestions and tips. I called Proof It based on a referral because I had a squirrel in my attic. When I called, I mentioned the squirrel and that I also had a broken duct as a result of the squirrel. I asked if they can fix the duct also, and the gentleman replied that yes, "we do it all". So, I requested their service. Didn't hear anything for several days, so I called again and they said someone would call me early the next week. The person I spoke with also suggested I send an email so I did. In the email I mentioned the squirrel in the attic and broken ductwork. Early the next week I received a call at work that they were in the neighborhood and could they go up on the roof and take a look. I said yes. They called me back a bit later and said they found where the squirrel got in and would flush the squirrel and block the opening for $475. I asked about the broken duct and he said he'll try to fix it from the outside, since I wasn't there. It was probably my mistake at this point to tell them to go ahead and do the work, but I did, as I felt the squirrel was potentially causing further damage to the attic. I came home and the squirrel was gone, but the duct was not fixed. They left a bill for $475 and wrote in "now" along with the service rendered. I called back and inquired about the duct and the gentleman I spoke with said "we don't really do that". And that he'll "give my name to a guy". They called a week later requesting their payment and telling me they "gave my name to a guy" twice. (Don't worry, your check is in the mail, guys). I'm giving 2 stars (not one) because they got rid of the squirrel. Coming to my home without an appointment and then not repairing the ductwork was unprofessional. 8/19/15 3 stars I live in a condo complex on the ground floor and was horrified one night to see a mouse in my living room. I never saw more than one at a time; however, one was quite a handful. For example, when I was almost asleep in bed, this acrobatic little thing ran into the bedroom (I'd closed the door, but there's a gap under it), jumped up on the bed, ran across my head, and disappeared. Being the wimp I am, I was severely traumatized and spent a night huddled on the couch with rattled nerves. I didn't see the mouse again until the morning, when I saw it run across the living room floor and dive behind the TV where a tangle of wires I guess provided cover. I figured there might be more than one mouse given the drought and all, so I set traps and called Proof It. About an hour later, one of my Victor traps caught the mouse by one foot, which was horrible: It dragged itself back under the TV cabinet, crawled into the baseboard heater, and died. Anyway, Proof It was too busy to come that day but came the next day because I wanted to make sure there were no additional mice and get an evaluation of where they might be able to enter. One of Tim's associates removed my baseboard heater (at my request--I don't use it) and the dead mouse, while Tim sealed off some gaps on the exterior of my unit using thick wire mesh. He also found (though didn't fix) many other possible points of entry elsewhere on the building's exterior. Unfortunately, my HOA did not cover my $300 bill for these services, but I hope that they consider rodent proofing the entire complex. I'm giving a rating of A-OK here because the inspection/repair didn't seem particularly thorough, they didn't have all their own tools (things that would seem obvious like a small mirror, a screwdriver, etc.) and had to borrow mine, and the bill seemed hefty for what was done (though I really have no reference as to a typical charge for this sort of service). I believe it's important to support small local businesses. I would call Proof It again. When I lived in the city, I had a mouse one time in 25 years in my 4th floor apartment by Ocean Beach. That one was very entertaining. It climbed my curtains and posed for me to take a picture. Nevertheless, i was totally rattled to have it running around and pooping. After a couple sleepless nights, many screams, and buying every possible contraption to catch it yet having it evade all of them, I managed to startle it (I guess as much as it did me) and it ran out my apartment door into the hall. Tim at proof it was incredibly helpful. A rat crawled into my bedroom at 2am, and my regular service Terminex would not do anything at all. I called Palmieri pest control who referred me to Tim. He came out the same day-we could not find the rat, but he advised me what to do. Then he sent 6 men who spent hours under my house proofing it. Gave it a clean bill of health, and stated the Racoons may just be walking on the roof, and suggested I purchase predator scent and Home Depot to deter the Racoons from coming back. This is by far the most diligent pest proofing company i have used i feel like they actually search every inch of the house and go about sealing up any entry points possible to keep the pests from returning and are kind humble people to top it off. I recently had Proof It (Ezra & Josh) come out to empty, clean, disinfect, sort and restock plus rat proof two sheds. Plus they hauled away all of the junk. I am amazed at how clean and organized the sheds are! I can actually find things and don't worry about rats running across my feet or jumping off shelves. I had Proof-It, come to help me with my "rat situation". It took a while to actually "set up the appointment", but in the end, a man came and fixed all of the things, that he could fix (being that the house if very old). The man who came (Cruz), was very efficient, polite and fast at remedying the problem. I haven't heard any "rat activity", as of yesterday. Stay away from this company! I had to hire 4 different companies, spend $7,500, and 6 months later I still have a rat problem. I bent over backs to work with Tim, a local guy but after waiting a month for him to send someone to fix the rat entry under the garage door that they missed, and not hearing from him to explain why they haven't come out to fix it, I would give zero stars if I could. First, they don't do construction and my carport/garage needed a footer and door so I wasted months waiting for their recommended guy to get out for an estimate. Their guy said he could do the work for $10,000 - just the construction part. Proof It would seal all rat entry points for $1,000. But they don't trap or do clean up! So I had to pay 2 other companies to trap and to clean up. Ok, 6 months later I think the garage is rat proof so I temporary store a mattress I am donating in the garage for 2 weeks. The person picking up the mattress finds out it is ruined by rats!!! My boyfriend points to the sunlight streaming into the garage under the garage door. He said quick Crete needs to be poured into the trough where the door meets the ground to close the 1.5 inch gap where the rats are obviously getting in. I called Proof It and asked to get here asap to seal the gap and a month later I am still waiting!!!!! I don't trust their work so am having another company come out next week to redo their work!!!!! We had a skunk crawl under a small building in our back yard and die. Two of his buddies decided to move in and make themselves at home. I tried several home remedies to get them to leave, (not knowing about the dead one) to no avail. Tim brought his expertise, tools and team of helpers to the rescue. Their schedules were packed full, but within two business days they showed up and got the skunks to leave, while fishing out the deceased one, all without getting sprayed. It wasn't a job we wanted to tackle ourselves, so are grateful that these guys knew what to do. Highly recommend! read more

Wow - I cannot praise Ezra and his crew more highly. Proof-it was recommended to me by Palmieri Pest Control as they do not do the cleanup after rats are captured. Proof-It went above and beyond my wildest expectations for rat proofing and cleanup both in and around my house. Every conceivable opening was sealed either with galvanized screening, fixall or flashing. Ezra was very knowledgeable and pointed out some other things that I might want to consider getting repaired. The crawl space beneath my house is now immaculate and I've seen absolutely no new rodent activity. I would recommend them highly to anyone needing their home rodent proofed. read more

I cannot provide input on the quality of Proof It's service because they never showed up! On three different occasions, they told me they would call (I.e., "after 4 pm", "mid-morning", etc.) to let me know when they would come by. I hung around waiting, but they didn't call. Living in Pacifica means living with all sorts of creatures around our home and when I had a mice overrun in our garage this past week I called Tim and his team at Proof It. This was an emergency as I am pregnant, have a toddler and my husband was out of town. I could hear the mice running inside our walls and the last straw was when two of them somehow got caught in the garage door tracking and sent our garage door off its hinges. Tim and his team came over under short notice even with their packed schedule. Were incredibly professional, calm, and thorough. They not only did an entire perimeter review but they also patched up holes and entry points in the back of our house that I would have never found otherwise. They also pointed out a number of issues that I hadn't realized to help deter them in the future as well as set traps in strategic places around our home that have already been extremely successful. While there is no way to eradicate mice from any of our homes entirely this is the best approach I've seen for dealing with the issue so they stay out of our interior walls. And I haven't heard a peep from any mouse inside our home since they were here. I would wholeheartedly recommend them to everyone. read more
