The woman who always works here (who I believe is the owner) has always helped me with a smile on her face. I always enjoyed coming here and giving her business, but when an incident occurred with an expensive blouse of mine- I saw the lack of professionalism and consideration this business has for its customers! It is safe to say I won't be returning here ever again!
I recently brought in a delicate and expensive blouse. After wearing it once I realized I had an oil stain on the blouse...mind you it was very small stain. I just didn't want to ruin my blouse cleaning it myself. Since I knew how delicate and expensive it was, I decided to take it here. What a mistake!!
When I came to pick up the blouse the lady(who is always there and who I believe is the owner) tells me that the blouse was not ready because the company she sends the clothes out to get cleaned had produced a blue stain on it and they weren't sure if they were going to be able to recover the blouse.
First of all, I never knew that the service was not done on premise, so that is my mistake. However, when she noticed how upset I was she gave me the number of the company to call and speak to them. How dare she! Why do I need to call and figure this out if this is a mistake on their behalf and she is the one who does business with them?
I respectfully call and they tell me to call back later to speak with the boss. I went on vacation that day and was never able to call back. When I return from vacation, I go to Promise Cleaners and the lady happily hands me my blouse with blue stains!!
They were unable to get THEIR stains out of it. The stains were ALL OVER my blouse. The oil stain I originally had was a smidge...the amount of blue dye on this shirt was inexcusable!! The lady tells me that the company she hires to clean the blouse is offering to give me 20 bucks for it. Big whoop!
I tell her even by the looks of my blouse she can tell it is more then 20 dollars. She tells me that's all they are willing to pay. I said to her and what about you? You aren't taking any accountability for this? She then tells me that she will no longer use this company to clean her items... yea okay!
She took 20 bucks out of the register and politely said -don't forget to take your shirt and I said, I can't wear it!! You can keep it!! I won't be returning here! She said I will give you a discount next time you come-- no discount is going to make me go back to a place who is not professional, sympathetic or considerate about the items of its customers.
Moral of the story, go somewhere with better customer service and who does in house cleaning! read more
