I was torn as to how many stars to give this place because I have brought three bridesmaids dresses here before and the woman, the tailor, has done an excellent job. This time around was different. I brought the bridesmaid dress to have the straps altered since they were very loose. She gave me the receipt and asked if I would like to pay now. I agreed since I didn't know if I would be the one picking it up. After she rang it up and gave me the receipt, she said, "oh shoot, did you want it pressed?" I agreed and paid the extra $5 so it was $25 in total. She manually wrote $5 on the receipt and the word 'paid' next to it. (I came to find out later that she wrote 'pressed'). Since I paid in cash, I asked for a receipt showing that I paid and she pointed to the receipt she was giving me to come back to pick up the dress. I asked if she wrote "paid" on her copy of the receipt that she attached to my dress and she said, "yes." My father ended up picking up the dress for me and sure enough, he was told that I did not pay for the dress. He called me on the phone and I explained the situation about what had happened. I'm assuming it was the woman's son who was helping my dad and he had basically said, 'don't worry about it.' When I tried on the dress at home, it was way too tight and constricted in the straps. I do not want to be uncomfortable all day on the day of the wedding so I took it back. Again, the woman was there and told me that I didn't pay for the dress. Her whole demeanor was extremely rude, stating "the first time you come, it's too loose, now it's too tight." I said, "correct, I need it right in the middle." She eventually waved me on to put on the dress again all the while, mumbling under the breath. I then said nicely, "I have come here numerous times to get dresses altered and I'm not like that. You're fixing my dress and doing a service for me; I most definitely would pay for the service." (Also, If I didn't pay for the dress, why would I take it back to the same place for the second time?). It was also 6:30pm and she said in a nasty tone, "I have a dentist appointment at 7pm, I can't deal with this now." I told her I didn't need it that night. I came back to pick up the dress the next day and tried it on, and it was better. However, when I was trying it on, she stated, "no more. I did it three times for you." I still said thank you for fixing it and she did not even respond. This last visit to this cleaners left a bad taste in my mouth and I'm really disappointed about it. I will find a new place to get alterations next time around. If this place has cameras, I hope they go back and see that I did in fact pay for my services and there is no reason to be rude. I also learned my lesson to use a credit card instead of cash. read more
