She helped me pick out plants for my fireplace and I bought four lovely 3" ceramic planters that were on sale for $4 each! Stephanie and I chatted for a bit while I was checking out. Lovely conversation and experience. She packed everything beautifully for me since I bought a lot and she knew plants were going to be in my car for a bit. I enjoyed my experience a lot and came back a couple weeks later. Her partner was there and it was still a great experience -- I bought a couple more things. So far, I've bought multiple plants, planters, rings, and stickers from here and all have been great quality. 10/10 recommend checking out.

Most of the clothes and accessories for females seemed targeted toward young people, but I'm glad I stopped in and checked out all of their cute loot. Anyone walking by has total access to them, which is a major food safety and tampering hazard. When I walked in with my water (which I medically need on hand for my medication) an employee aggressively bee-lined right toward me to demand I put it on the sketchy cart. When I explained I had a health requirement, she backed off, but the whole encounter was unpleasant. Management really needs to rethink leaving open customer drinks unattended in a public area, and staff should be trained on how to handle guests with medical needs respectfully instead of immediately cornering them. I wanted to purchase some earrings today, but because of the uncomfortable experience, I wanted to get out of there in a hurry. They lost a sale today.

The shop benefits the Lucile Packard Children's Hospital Stanford. It is a large place with clothes, housewares, home decor, toys, books, jewelry, and more. They have low prices compared to other charity thrift shops in the area. There were lots of Thanksgiving items and some Christmas decorations, too. The whole place was packed with stuff, but it all was clean and nicely displayed. There is no thrift store smell. They have some vintage items mixed in with the newer stuff, especially in housewares. It's definitely a treasure hunt in there.

I purchased six items, thinking the price was fair given the high quality of the clothing. I had specifically asked for natural fabrics--but look what I actually received... I didn't pay close attention to the labels at the time of purchase, but when I got home, I checked the composition and discovered that every single garment is made of plastic--100% polyester. I intend to return everything, as I have no desire to put plastic directly against my skin. The cashier seemed pleasant enough to me. I simply wanted to make my purchases quickly and without any hassle, but the local staff seems intent only on ignoring customers. Even though--being a Tuesday--it wasn't busy at all, I still had to wait for someone at the register to finally pay attention to me and be willing to ring me up!

They mainly sell vintage and modern secondhand clothes, bags, and shoes for women and men, but they also have new pottery from a designer called Familiar. The store is spacious and carefully curated. There is no thrift shop smell and it looks more like a cute boutique than a secondhand store. You can sell your clothes there, too. There are two floors of women's clothes and a separate men's shop across a little courtyard in the back. Most of the customers when I was there were young adults of both sexes. The store was busy on a Saturday in the late afternoon. Fortunately, they have a dedicated parking lot behind the shop with plenty of spaces. The staff welcomed me immediately when I walked in. I was interested in looking at purses and they had quite a few vintage and newer ones from designers like Coach, Tory Burch, Kate Spade, and Dooney & Bourke. I didn't buy any, but enjoyed checking out what they had to offer. I didn't pay too much attention to the clothes, except to notice that women's pant sizes on the second floor only seemed to go up to size 11/12. If they had bigger sizes, I didn't see them. Overall, I was impressed with Black and Brown and would like to go back.

I was referred by another thrift store, so I decided to stop by (walk in/no appointments) to sell a few items. No long lines or crowds after 1pm Thursday. I never thought about coming here, but it looks legit and there's more upstairs to browse around. It was more spacious than expected in this old landmark building/house corner. Not bad at all. Staff is welcoming and worked pretty fast going through people's drop off bags of clothes, etc. They sell new items too (clothing/scarf dyes, little gifts, sunglasses, shoes, jewelry, and more). Items on racks are good looking and colorful in some spots. There were plenty of Baggu handbags for sale too. Good variety of colors and styles. They have good looking boots for sure. Prices on racks are on the higher end side/more expensive for thrift store items. Very clean though, like new for most items. It didn't take long before they were finished going through my bags. It's a bit more high end here, so if you have good brands vintage fashion items, this can be a good convenient spot for you.
