IMHO I think Bella James is the only clothing boutique on Lincoln Ave. between Willow and Minnesota Aves. My friends and I were commiserating about that lack, when suddenly we saw it from across the street and ran over! Such a beautifully merchandised store of curated women's clothing and accessories. I saw many lovely, trendy, unique styles and pretty colors to peruse. I didn't try on or buy anything...because I had just treated myself to a new pair of shoes elsewhere, but if money was no object, I'd love to treat myself to a new outfit from Bella James. read more

Popped in here on my lunch break, I happened to work in our Willow glen location today, glad I did. They carry Mother Jeans & some cute spring clothes. The worker was nice enough to check their stock even though they were out of my size. I also live close by so I'm glad a store like this is in the area. I'll be back! read more

Stacy went above and beyond for me. She picked out a great gift for a close friend wrapped it and I was 900 miles away. My friend loved the blouse. read more

I called BellaJames at about 12:45 on a Friday. Martha answered and said she had a few jackets that might work for my outfit. I showed up 10 minutes later with my dress, she put me in a dressing room and kept bringing me jackets to complete my look. But, she would have been perfectly fine if I purchased nothing - she just wanted me to look and feel great for my presentation that evening. Even though I was in a bit of a hurry, no one tried to sell me the wrong thing, but they took good care of me and quickly! It was my first time at BellaJames, but it won't be my last. The staff was great, the selection and prices met my expectations and I loved how I looked that night. read more

Lovely little boutique store. Visited this store for the first time due to an after hours 'sip n shop' event. The staff were courteous and friendly. The clothes were nice albeit pricey and I especially liked the accessories. read more

So snooty. Basic clothes for my taste. I was there for quite a while, and never greeted, or even smiled at! Like, not once! I left and went across the street to Boutique Dandelion with ONE girl working and we were provided with exceptional service. She went above and beyond to help us. read more

Such a gem! I love the fact that you can always find something new. The staff is so helpful and polite, they have perfected customer service. Bella James is my favorite shop in Willow Glen! read more

I don't usually give 1 star, but I've been pretty disappointed with the (lack of) customer service at Bella James. Today was probably my 5th time going into the store without being greeted. I don't mind if the salespeople want to give customers space, but a simple "hello" would be nice! I spent about 15 minutes in the store. I was soo tempted to buy a pair of Paige denim and white tank which would total about $150. I was holding the items when a sales lady walked over to a customer right next to me. She greeted her, "Hi, how are you? I haven't seen you in forever!", looked at me, and then walked back to the register. She then went on to greet 2 other customers who walked in. Bella James, if you want to continue to get new customers, perhaps you could treat them a little better? read more

So I walked in to shop , probably not dressed the way the the ladies expected I might but I was looking for some nice clothes for work . I work for a large corporation. And I must say I was never so stereotyped or treated so badly ever . The ladies we greeting other customers and just ignored me . Never offered assistance to me or even acknowledge my presence . This is the worst store and I would never step foot in here again . I would give 0 stars if I could . Do not go to this store unless you expect to be treated the way I was !!!! Think of petty woman when she tried to shop on Rodeo dr this is Bella James !! Racial profiling read the reviews they do this to many of there costumers . This is so wrong in 2018 read more

I receive emails from this boutique and if I like an item I call and it's held for me. It's a fun boutique with interesting and beautiful items. Thank you Jean for always helping me out with your stellar solutions and warm personality. I actually went into the store to find a specific dress from an email and almost walked out if Jean had not saved the day. Thank you to Debbie and Samantha? You have all been kind and attentive whenever I come in or call for assistance. read more

Thank you so much Bella James! I work a lot and have zero time to shop! Jean dialed me for my upcoming weekend with my daughter. Thank you so much! Cathy read more

This is a wonderful shop full of hip, trendy, and classic clothing for women. Whether you need a special dress for an event, or something casual for looking great while just running around, you'll find it here. A great variety of clothing grouped into coordinated racks that can be mixed confidently. Small selection of shoes to compliment the clothing, as well as hand bags and accessories. Tired of looking like everyone else? Feeling frumpy? This boutique is definitely your antidote! Come in and allow their knowledgeable staff to make some suggestions for you. There's usually a terrific sales section with high quality pieces marked down. Whatever you purchase here, you're guaranteed to be feeling fresh and confident that you look hot! Get ready to turn heads! read more

I have been shopping at Bella James since they first opened. Recently I became aware that they sell hats with real mink pompoms and real mink slippers. In this day and age, who still sells animal pelts as part of clothing? It is really quite disgusting that Bella James feels the need to sell items that use these poor exploited and tortured animals for pleasure. There are so many awesome faux fur options out there. I wrote to them and they did respond. Basically, their message back to me is go ahead and shop somewhere else, we're going to continue selling whatever we feel like selling. Shame on you for participating in the fur trade. read more

Family owned and every owner or anyone helping me is always kind which is hard to come by today. I've been shopping here for years and will continue to. Styles are beautiful and the quality of the clothing and can't be beat. Thank you BellaJames! read more

Love the new store! It's great that they finally have a street facing storefront, and it's more than twice as spacious as their old location inside the WG Garden Theater. It's so much easier to browse now. I tried on a few cute dresses and tops recommended by one of the sweet sales associates, and ended up getting one that was a top long enough on me to wear as a super cute sun dress by Hazel. It was a bargain at $60 with their promotional discount on the day of the fashion show. Bella James is a great shop for stylish women of all ages. They carry brands like Free People, Ella Moss, Velvet, William Rast, Hudson, Seven and Citizens of Humanity, as well as a few shoes by Steve Madden and Charles David. You can also pick up Hanky Panky and Spanx here. The jewelry they carry is beautiful as well -- love the charm necklaces. read more

Alright, I see I'm not alone. I hate complaining about service in places, because I honestly empathize with store workers having a bad day, or being super busy and not paying attention to me, whatever. But this is clearly a trend as evidenced by the other reviews - and it wasn't just one salesperson. I was really excited when I first walked into this store. The clothes were super cute. But not once did anyone offer to help me in any way or manner - and I was in there a good 20 minutes. As I walked toward the back, I noticed there was a Miranda Frye trunk show. I was super stoked! I love Miranda Frye jewelry. I was looking at pieces, and I swear the sales ladies were just staring me down super rudely. Not once did anyone acknowledge I was there, or ask if I needed help, or even really bother to explain what was happening. Also, this part I was super sad panda about. There were mimosas with the trunk show, and I never got offered one. Let me be clear, I was dressed very well that day. Was rockin' my new taupe suede ankle boots with leather leggings, a designer flannel with a JCrew statement necklace, and my Kate Spade quilted purse. So idk what their problem was. Maybe the mimosas were only for people who actually bought the jewelry, but I saw lots of people browsing with them and I was sad, because mimosas are my favorite. So yeah anyway, Bella James was an interesting experience. Maybe I'll be back. Probably not though. read more

Agree with the other reviewers about snobby sales staff. Look honey(s). I wouldn't be wasting my time trying things on of I wasn't going to buy anything. You on the other hand obviously can't afford to shop here because you work retail so HUMBLE UP! Be nice! On a side note: Cute stuff. Found a top on sale for $46 that I could have found at F21 for less than half. I bit the bullet and paid for it even though the sales girl rubbed me the wrong way. It was too adorable to leave behind. I would rather go to Nordy's and find all the items they have here on the sale rack..I'm sure this shop doesn't get much turn around on merchandise since it's a boutique. read more

I went into this store today as it was recommended to me by a friend. She was wearing a lovely dress and I asked where she had gotten it - she told me Bella James so in I went. I had read most of the reviews about customer service being poor and I have to agree, it was terrible. I think there were maybe 5 staff or friends of staff hanging around and I got one half-hello and that is it. No offer of help, NOTHING. I do not expect red carpet service but I expect more than the once over and a half assed hello. Real shame, I live locally, I had money to spend and wanted to spend it however I lost interest after 10 mins. Yes, the clothes are nice but there are many boutiques on Lincoln Avenue with nice clothes and friendlier staff. read more

Instead of having to go to a department store for my Maddie M., Free People, and designer goodies, I can just go to Bella James. Bella James is one, of a handful of boutiques on Lincoln Avenue that carry a limited selection of stylish clothing for women. Although they have a smaller selection than department stores, they always have the hottest items. I can find almost everything here--denim jeans, tops, dresses, scarves, lingerie, and even shoes here. I have had nothing, but positive experiences with the staff here and I will more than likely continue to give them my business. Check them out for yourself ladies! read more

Do not let their "aesthetically pleasing" publicity stunts fool you! I did, and I can honestly say that I will never shop at BellaJames ever, ever, EVER again! The last experience I had there, I was treated so poorly by one of their employees who gave curt responses to my questions in such a sarcastic/disrespectful tone that I felt as if I were a "pest" rather than a valued customer. In my opinion, she was the one who had a giant stick up the "you know where" probably because I was not telling her s*** don't stink. Talk about a "wolf in sheep's clothing." Also, the prices there are WAY too high for the kind of cheap quality clothing they want to pawn off onto unsuspecting customers. The other employees? Amateurs! Save yourself the time, the hassle and the embarrassment and don't go shopping at BellaJames! read more

VERY cute clothes! EXCELLENT Location! 2 stars for the HORRIBLE customer service. I'm not asking for you to wait on me hand and foot but a hello would be nice when I am walking around your store. I would have loved to buy a couple pairs of jeans and a maxi dress that I fell in love with BUT not one associate greeted me for the 20 minutes that I was in the store so I put the clothes down and walked out. read more

Such a gem in downtown Willow Glen! I stopped in the other day to look for a couple of items to wear to some holiday events. I'm glad I stopped here because it was much better than fighting the crowd at Nordstrom. I feel like this place is a mini women's Nordstrom. They even have my favorite denim Paige and my other fav brand sanctuary. Also they have a few local designers as well. The ladies working here were extremely helpful in helping me find the perfect outfit and jewelry to coordinate. My outfits were super cute and stylish. The price was comparable to Nordstrom. I got 2 tops, 1 sweater jacket, and one necklace for about $350. Pretty pricey but hey saved me a lot of time and way more personable. Will be back and It would be nice if they had a sale from time to time. Or maybe spend so much and then get a free gift card. read more

This store is amazing!! I never leave without something I love and the ladies who work there are all so helpful! They have really cool events there too like trunk shows for certain designers and even a mens event. Bella James is truly a gem in Willow Glenn, in the Bay Area entirely to be more honest. I really started to hate shopping because the level of customer service in the area is, in my opinion at an all time low. Larger retailers must only pay minimum wage because they sales associates they have couldn't be bothered to help you. If you want an amazing shopping experience where you feel pampered and a selection of items that is always fresh, new and affordable search no further!!! Bella James is your place!!!! not to mention you can walk in there and get dressed from head to toe and from your panties to your overcoat! read more

I love that I can get pretty much anything I want or need. It's a one stop shop! read more

At least 90% of my clothing has come from BellaJames. I love this boutique, from the sweet employees to the quality clothing. Multiple times a year they put on trunk shows with brand representatives for contemporary brands such as Paige, Michael stars, and 7 for all mankind. Every time I'm in need of a new pair of denim, I find the staff to be so knowledgeable about their brands. They carry plenty of junior brands that don't break the bank but also brands that feature women entrepreneurs! Love that! More importantly they stand behind their product! I once had a sweater with a fault in the shoulder and they offered to repair it or replace it. Every time I visit BellaJames I leave feeling on top of the world! They always help me with outfits that feel creative yet true to myself. This is truly a place that cares about each individual person that comes in! read more

Bella James is my go to store for pretty much everything. Love that my 50year old self can find stylish clothes that are age appropriate. The staff here is amazing. I look HOT in the top I bought from Bella James. Seriously, I'm not being conceited. This cute boutique carries amazing clothing. I would categorize their selection to be predominantly sexy-chic. Nothing vulgar or trashy, and definitely nothing boring. I've visited this store on numerous occasions but finally decided to buy an item. Why? To look HOT, you pay a HOT price. Fortunately, I had a lucky day. My sexy top was on sale!!! Always check out the sale rack on the left side! Bonus: the sales staff don't lie. If they think an outfit doesn't look good, they'll tell you. They don't give you a bunch of bullshit just to sell. read more

love this store!! They have such cute stuff. Everything from page denim to michael stars, ella moss and much more! For all of you Nordy girls out there- you have to come shop here!! Bella James is my favorite bay area boutique! The location is amazing! If you are in Downtown Willow Glen, you must stop in here! I have never been disappointed by the selection at Bella James, the owners have a great eye for what is in style and what is comfortable. My favorite part about shopping at Bella James is that the people who work there are genuinely nice and extremely helpful. Whenever I stop by they are always willing to help me by putting great outfits together or suggesting jeans that would look great on my body and they always do. I could go on for hours and hours about how much I love this store, it is my absolute favorite place to shop and it has never let me down. read more

One of my favorite places Ever! I know walking in, I will be walking out smiling. Not just because of their awesome designs and how cute the shop is, but the awesome customer service. All the ladies are great. I've been a willow glen resident for 10 years, but never had a chance to walk in this store. I heard they carried Mother Denim. So I went today post yoga class. Guess I wasn't dressed "fancy" enough in a tank, yoga pants and Birkenstock's. There were 3 customers including me and the other two were greeted, asked if they needed a fitting room and then started one. I never got an acknowledgement. Walked out feeling pretty crummy. A reminder for little ol me who oversees 90 retail stores for a major fashion designer to ensure my team is always attentive and welcoming no matter a persons appearance. Guess will stick to buying my $300 jeans from Nordie's. read more

Super cute clothes, but the workers seem racist! My sister & I walked in to look at the clothes and they didn't offer us help, didn't greet, didn't smile, nothing! Just mugged us with the look of hoping we wouldn't try on the clothes. Minutes later two Caucasian females walk in and were quickly greeted and offered help. Workers need some retraining and to not racial profile/judge guest due to their race, weight, etc. Work on the hospitality ladies! read more

I really like the brands they stock and the fact that the store is just the right size. But, the thing I love about Bella James is that they're always keeping their inventory fresh. The older items they mark down to keep the stock moving. Which means you have a pretty good chance of finding a great outfit for date night or your next vacation. And usually you can score a nice sale item too! read more

I've been a "local" here for about 4 years now and I would say that I love the selection at Bella James. They have Michael Stars, Hardtail, MIss Me Jeans, Paige Denim, and many other great designers. I've gotten quite a few cute things here. Their customer service has gotten better as well (still not perfect, but a LOT better). JEAN has always been super friendly and helpful every time she's been there while I was shopping. Love the selection, and they are always getting new stuff in. Would recommend. read more

Bought a couple of tops and a pair of jeans for my daughter. She attends Willow Glen High and was recommended to shop here by the owners daughter. Big mistake.
