So when I took my friend…read moreto the Yelp Event in town, she actually asked the employees in that establishment where we could get something for a takeout dinner. This place happened to be one of the establishments named from inside Jubi's. Lo and behold, it was the most obvious thing we saw after we exited the bubble tea shop and so we decided to go. I do love the ambiance this place has for these summer months. You can actually sit in an outside bar that looks into the restaurant, and it's definitely a great spot to wait if you need that fresh air. The menu is fairly extensive, so there are definitely options to consider when ordering something here. The employees here do mention that it is about a 10-minute wait to cook the food which was fine. The Panama-Croatia game of the WC was on TV. The pizza we ordered was a chicken bacon ranch with hot honey, and there was also the sampler from the appetizers menu. Nothing wowed me about the food, but nothing was bad either. The pizza had a decent crunch to it, and the hot honey added just the right amount of sweetness to the slice. Out of what I had on the sampler, I would say the jalapeño poppers were the best. It has a zest kick while remaining juicy without getting the breading soggy. The zucchini sticks were helped by the dipping sauces, but they were otherwise alright. The mozzarella sticks did need the marinara sauce on this one to let its flavor shine. Service was good. Friendly faces, and we actually had our food carried out to us when they had our order ready. Can't ask for much else. But yeah, while there are some pizzas in CT I would chose over this if given the chance, this is still a good pizzeria that should be proud to be serving the Bethel area.

We finally redeemed some cheese slices and also ordered Sicilian slices, then enjoyed them while sitting at their open air counter! The staff was eager to serve us, hand delivering our piping hot slices to our seats with genuine smiles. While waiting we identified a variety of menu items we would be eager to try- including Detroit style pizzas, salads, and wraps. It was nice to see how locals were taking advantage of both the dining in and take out options. We love this local pizzeria!

Received a salad instead. Called to let them know that I had the wrong order. Alot of silence on the phone line? Had the receipt to show this. They said they would make another, so we drove over to pick it up again. My complaint about Papa Al's is that we had to drive over again to pick up the meal - no compensation and the other meal sitting at home sat and got cold. That is purely not a good business practice. Won't be ordering from Papa Al's again. I appreciate a local business that cares! The food at Papa Al's is good but not the best! There are better options!

It's not bad at all, it's just not exceptional. It's serviceable typical local pizza joint. The inside decor has some sit down tables and seems nice enough. The chicken parm sandwich was good. I didn't like the Sicilian pizza too much. I felt it wasn't crispy enough. Overall, a perfectly ok option in this area if you are craving pizza!

If thin crust is your thing (like it's mine), you've gotta check this place out! It's primarily a delivery and takeout spot, so there are only a handful of seats inside, but if you do dine in it is BYOB so you can bring your bottle of wine or can of beer or hard seltzer and enjoy a hot fresh pizza right out of the oven! The fried mozz was good too, but I only tried it because I shared an order with others, it's not something I ever order on my own. If it's your thing, you'd enjoy it here but I want ALLLLL the pizzas! The Friday Shrimp Pie Specials, the Summer Pie (DON'T MISS THIS), tasted like some great New Haven style pizza with delicious sauce and thin crust and fresh high quality ingredients. I was in heaven! I actually went the first time with a group of friends and then insisted the hubby make this stop on our way home from NYC one weekend so he could try it, and I could have more of it! If I didn't live an hour away, this would be MY pizza spot! It's that good! The wings weren't bad, but this wouldn't be my go to wing spot. But everything else was phenomenal! When we were leaving the first time, a nice woman walking out behind us told us she goes there every week to pickup a grinder and that we should try those too! I think it was chicken parm she was talking about. The second time we went we saw two guys eating their pizza inside that were regulars and say they go there all the time too. So the locals know this is a great spot and I was so happy to see the support and the people willing to talk about how great they are and how they love supporting this small family owned business!

Anyway I ordered calamari hot wings and pepperoni pizza by the slice. Pizza by the slice? You genius! a small pizza is too large for me, And doesn't reheat well either. But pizza places don't offer it for delivery. pizza by the slice for a single person that they actually deliver is perfect! It was the perfect the amount of cheese, sauce, & pepperoni. The ratio of crust wasn't too flimsy not burnt not too thin or thick. A lot of times I order extra cheese on my pizza because it always seems like they don't put enough on or it gets cooked off too much or burnt but not the case here. The calamari was good too. I like it when they include the little legs (as I call them) and the rings. They included two large wedges of lemon and a large side of marinara sauce. The calamari could've maybe use a little more salt and pepper but overall it was a good choice. The wings were great too. Now these are what you may think may be a bit pricy for wings but these are big wings with a lot of meat on them, with a large size side of blue cheese dressing and celery which not many places include celery. Extra size of dressing are reasonably priced. The projected delivery time was between 8:35 PM and 8:45 PM when I ordered it 8 o'clock. Which is fair. Although I did not get an update on the time, and the delivery didn't happen until a few minutes past 9:00 PM.
