Finally made it to this awesome pizza spot in Sandy Hook! There are so many menu offerings ranging from pizzas to wraps and pastas. There is something for everyone! Although we are not thin crust fans, we enjoyed the vodka sauce on the Drunken Grandma. We could only imagine how good their penne alla vodka must be considering how good the sauce was on the pizza!! We are eager to visit again to try their Sicilian pies, which is more our style pizza anyway. We are also eager to go back for pasta night!

One of the few if not the only pizza restaurants in the area that serves a variety of pizza slices. Bought 4 slices. Regular cheese, pepperoni, Sicilian and the incredible drunken grandma. There has to be some NY influence in there pies. Great spot, great staff and fun atmosphere.

We were super impressed by the variety of creative pizzas on the menu at Gino's! Delicious chicken parm pizza especially. The wings and entree were delicious too. We sat outside and the staff was friendly. They accidentally brought us out the wrong pizza at first but worked quickly to make it right. A good restaurant for the family!

We have been eating out alot this summer. That being said I am still finding restaurants / places I have not yet reviewed. My husband has not eaten his food yet so there is a slight maybe that I update this review later with his thoughts. Our app we chose cheese garlic bread. Our order was a delivery order so I know that affects some quality. I dont judge their cheese garlic bread fully on delivery. Delivery wise it was not crunchy but the garlic was plentiful as well as the cheese. My entree capellini with garlic and oil and a side of meatballs with marinara. I love capellini but not all restaurants offer it. Some restaurants that do offer capellini its overcooked. Let me tell you Gino's Palor killed it with their capellini - cooked perfectly. Just preference wise I could have done without the fresh basil throughout. Meatballs again excellent - the taste and consistency both perfect. In addition Gino's paid attention to the instructions I wrote in for my meatballs which was I wanted sauce for them. In the past Different spots when I order pasta with garlic and oil I get meatballs plain with no sauce. Ever since I specify if there is a spot for it. Overall a great meal, and look forward to actually visiting the restaurant.

We have stopped by Gino's to get slices a few times and have always really enjoyed them. Tonight we decided to go all out and order a bunch of pies. Man do they stack their specialty pies with tons of toppings or what? And not just any toppings mind you but high quality fresh and delicious toppings. The ricotta is soooo heavenly and the breaded chicken they put on you can tell is fresh and juicy. Their slices are huge too so it doesn't take much to feel full which means lots of leftovers here but we are excited for it. Their pasta was also delicious and a large portion. Vodka sauce great! So happy Gino's is right here in town. We will be trying more on their menu soon. Definitely give them a try!!!!

There is a front and back entrance to Gino's, with outdoor seating by the road side. You can order pizza by the pie or by the slice - they have a bunch of different pizzas on display, you pick your slice and into the oven it goes to heat up. They are BIG pieces, much bigger then they look through the glass. I was actually afraid of leaving hungry, until they were delivered to my table. The cheese pizza tips to the dough side on the cheese/sauce/dough balance, but JUST. The bianca slice I sampled was surprisingly flavorful in the ricotta, when most are comparably bland. It must be fun to live nearby and get to switch up your slice choices!

My wife and I were at a distillery in Roxbury. We live in Danbury. I was looking for a quality food…read morespot in between and newtown came to mind. So, knowing that Sugo existed, I immediately routed us to their location, as this is a place that's been on my list of places to try. Short view? Everything started great. But did not follow through. The service was awesome. Our waitress, and forgive me as I cannot remember her name, was amazing. When we arrived we observed her interactions with her child and it automatically endeared her to us. And, as a server she was absolutely top notch. We understand from conversations, that she often works the bar. Either way she is awesome and the bright spot of our experience. The ambiance of the place was beautiful. Super refined looking, albeit with uncomfortable chairs at the tables. But I'm not looking for "comfort" per se, I'm looking for beauty. And this spot hits the mark. The we began ordering. Off the cocktail menu, I ordered their version of a pina colada and it was tasty af but definitely weak. My wife ordered a dirty martini with bleu cheese olives that she felt was weak. After those, we each ordered French martinis, that were super lacking in all flavor save for vodka. So strong, a bonus, but not good. As an app, we ordered their calamari which I order everywhere we go. This one lived up to the standard. Nice, big, meaty pieces of squid. A good breading, and a decent (if not underwhelming) sauce. I ordered their version carbonara as a main, and it was likewise, underwhelming. It was over buttered and over creamed. Which, if one knows anything about a traditional carbonara, it involves neither butter nor cream. I get that this is a gastropub and as such they will take liberty with ingredients and traditions; however, if I can make a better one at home... what's the point? My wife ordered the seafood grill which included branzino and shrimp. The branzino was delicious (but slightly over), but the shrimp stopped everything. The shrimp was rotten. On the plate it smelled like an unclean barn. I will say, we had to bring this issue to the attention of our server, and she kindly and appropriately comped our latter two drinks as a result. This made us happy as the drinks comped over the price of the plate, however, the smell is one that stays with us. Even at the time of this writing. We finished up our meal. I took home most of my carbonara as I felt confident I could make it taste good at home, but that's not the point of dining out. If and when I spend this type of money on food, I expect it to be right. This experience was not right. And if it weren't for the server, this review would be a 2 star.

The dining room was empty as we came early, and it looked beautiful. The entire restaurant, to the eye, is absolutely a vibe. There was one server on shift at the time and she was very nice and welcoming. We had very high hopes for the meal to come. We were fairly disappointed. It was during a brunch service. Initially ordered the calamari as an appetizer. Yes, calamari as a brunch app is kind of strange however since it was available I ordered it. I typically order this wherever I go, because I execution-wise, it's not the easiest thing to prepare correctly. This app was tiny, as in the serving size. Additionally the calamari itself was super small as well. No nice meaty rings. No crispy tentacles. Just a greasy mess. The dish purports the dipping sauce to be that of a fra diavolo, it was not. It was more like a marinara with chunky bits of aromatics and perhaps a bit of crushed red pepper. It was also very pricey given everything. Even if it were perfect, still on the pricey side. At the same time my daughter ordered French toast. For $18. We are talking $6 a slice of brioche. Wild business, that. As mains, my wife ordered the avocado toast. Which she actually seemed to enjoy, although the bread was soggy, and the other items on the plate severely lacking. I ordered the "lobster" cake eggs Benedict. If this was lobster, then I'm the Mother Theresa. It was, by my palate overly processed canned crab meat. At best, overly processed lobster meat, but I highly doubt that given the taste, color, and texture. The CRAB cake itself was meh, the accompanying potato hash was okay, and the hollandaise sauce was passable if not good. We ordered drinks as well. My lemon drop martinis were pretty good. My wife was dissatisfied with her margarita, then ordered a dirty martini that was okay. We walked out with a tab of nearly $200. To say it was worth the money would be absurd. I hate to be so blatantly honest with this review, but this experience (food and drink-wise) was not one I would recommend.
