Enjoyed program! Would recommend. Did 5 week EMT course. Well paced, I thought this was the perfect porridge btwn the 2 wk and the 8 wk. Fav instructors include Yas Michelle Jeff, honorable mention to Tyler Matt & JT who were also great. Good amount of fake blood squirting :). Instructors seem genuinely interested in the material, fellow students and instructors were down to coordinate some outside of class reviewing before test days which was nice. Good vibes, we had fun in the class! Very hands on style- good for fairly tactile learners. Do it! read more

Very informative ACLS class with great audio visuals and instruction. Sig Jacobson was an excellent teacher.

I hope someone with authority reads this! The last set of graduates have been waiting for weeks for the Director to submit their completion so that they can register for the test and there has been little communication or action! What's the point of completing this training if this company isn't going to push things a long to so that they can start working? Anyone looking to go here should be aware that they take their sweet a$$ time. read more

I did a BLS course around 4 hours long with instructor Kaz. They were extremely engaging and their teaching style made it really easy to remember what they were teaching and actually make it stick. You could tell they were very accommodating, and did a good job keeping the class fun. At the end of the class you take a quiz which goes over everything they went over in class, which was relatively simple. I would recommend everyone take their in-person classes. read more

Highly recommend! Last time I took a TNCC class, my daughter was 8 years old! Now she is a college Freshman. Had to admit I was a little anxious to go through a rigorous process. The TNCC instructors, Fred and Jessica made the experience easier and interactive. Fred and Jessica made the academic content more relatable with their personal experiences adding to realism. Fred and Jessica's wealth of clinical backgrounds rock! As I continue to study and gain experience as an ED nurse, I aspire to be like them. I plan to continue my additional certification for ACLS, BLS, and PALS her at Project Heartbeat. read more

Took the 8 week emt course here and can confidently say that the instructors are amazing people that are down to earth, kind and strict when needed to be. I feel prepared with the knowledge that they gave me to get out there and start my ems career. Special thanks to Jeff for being an awesome instructor and lecturing for hours on end. read more

Project Heartbeat - Mannequins after a special day - CPR Classes Near Me - Oakland, California

I came in today for ACLS and BLS COMBO in which I registered and paid for about a week ago. I was sent the precourse for the ACLS. I was never sent a BLS Precourse, but I was sent a paid receipt for both courses. I called the Wednesday prior during business hours and did not get an answer. I arrived an hour prior to start of the combo class for the front desk clerk attendant(who opened the office up) to tell me I was only signed up for ACLS AND NOT BLS. I asked her to call Grace who is supposed to be the office mgr. The clerk said, "I'm not calling her on the weekend with a frown on her face". I sat waiting for an hour and 10 minutes after ACLS class started for nothing to be done. I had to ask am I supposed to be in class for the attendant to say, " I was just going to call you up". I was told to go into the ACLS CLASS while they try to sort things out. On my first break I followed the error project heart beat made up, and the same clerk said I can offer you a refund. I told her I wanted the combo class. Money is not the issue. Project Heart Beat made the error. I've sent the office manager 2 emails while sitting here offering to complete the online portion on these breaks we are give during ACLS with no response. Another student in the class did not complete either ACLS OR BLS pre test. They still allowed her to go through the in person didactic and then complete both ACLS AND BLS TEST AFTER. Project Heart Beat has to do better and hire a front desk clerk that is friendlier and customer service oriented and not trying to hide errors. She would probably do better cleaning the building than having to interact with customers. Also, they have to be consistent on precourse requirements. It took a second clerk to tell me what the real issue was after waiting an hour being told I was only signed up for ACLS WHEN I HAD RECIEPTS FOR BOTH ACLS AND BLS. I was never sent the precourse for BLS. If you register for classes here, call and confirm until you get someone to confirm that they have sent all emails and you have the precourse. In the meantime, hopefully the first desk clerk to arrive is a bit more customer friendly and focused. read more

Good EMT program recommend to me by a fire captain. Made sure all students come out of program prepared. They simulate trama lanes which most programs do not have. Learned a lot! read more

This was an amazing program! I did the 5 week program and felt supported and confident even with the accelerated coursework. Would completely recommend read more

Just finished a 8 week EMT program with PHB and it was the best experience ever! The instructors are all very supportive and always push you to be your best! If you're looking to be EMT certified PHB is the best program to take! 1000/10 experience read more

If you wanna get your recertification done fast with zero hassle, this is the place to do it. I've tried other EMT skills recertification programs and they reschedule your appointment over and over and over again this place I only made one appointment one time showed up took the test. The process was made fast efficient and convenient and the instructor was knowledgeable, clear concise, but still very fair and provided a laid-back Learn together type of atmosphere. For sure I'm using project heartbeat every time I have to recertify. read more

I just graduated from Project Heartbeat's 8 week EMT course (PHB 78!!). The instructors were all amazing (shoutout Jeff, Michelle, Tyler, and JT), down-to-earth, and overall provided valuable insight into the field of EMS. Their instruction is very hands-on and sometimes a little intense, but you'll come out of it with a large skillset and prepared for any situation you'll face in the field. I especially enjoyed learning skills and trauma lanes! Overall, if you are willing to put in the work and open to criticism, you'll do well. read more

Always a great experience coming here. ACLS renewal for me is a real burden and it is not very practical to take time out of busy schedule but I always come back here for a course even though I don't stay in Bay Area that much any more. Sunday am/pm course is not exciting. I dragged my yin yang to this place. Cindy Hernandez was the instructor. She seemed little intimidating and strict but she turned out to be a very sweet, warm hearted person with a great sense of humor. Her real life experience make this learning materials to stick better. I actually learned the most from this course and this made me want to learn more. I might sign up for their EKG course. Unfortunately she does not teach that course but I might come back for that. read more

Great program. Instructors are knowledgeable and pass qualified, determined, passionate EMTs.

Phenomenal instruction, prepares the individual to be a more than competent EMT. Great peeps all round!

BLS CPR class was worth it! Mr. Dean was very sufficient and to the point. I would come again and review my CPR card.

I took my initial ACLS. I really loved learning here at PROJECT HEARTBEAT, especially with my HELLA GOOD instructor JUSTIN!!!, he made the class super easy to follow and genuinely fun. I thought it was gonna be boring since there was a lot to cover but genuinely the way Justin was able to coincide the pathophysiology with the lecture really helped me understand. 10/10 COMING BACK. read more

Attempted to complete in Folsom location. Worst experience ever!!!!! Would not recommend this place to anyone. I completed my modules at home, then when I arrived it stated I didn't, so spent additional time completing them again. Then after, the mannequin would not even connect correctly with the computer set up. When phone number called to walk me through it, and having me take apart the mannequin and rebooting computer still didn't work. I'm not some IT tech for you guys!! I am supposed to show up to my appointment and complete my skills, but couldn't because equipment was faulty. Receptionist told me multiple people have had trouble with the mannequins and nothing done. Now stuck with half assignment completed and no certification. 4 hours later waste of my time. read more

Anika Wagner was our instructor and she made it quick and painless to get us tested and outta there!! It was an early 8am class - with one 10ish minute break - with a small class of 7. Quick video's to watch, jot down a few key items that would be on the "test," small mats on the ground to help our knees as we buddied up and practiced CPR on the mannequins and within 2 ish hours, dependent upon how long you take tests for 24 questions, you were done. You are allowed 4 wrong answers on the test - Anika reviews your wrong answers before you leave; however, more than 4 wrong, I believe she reviews them with you and you have to retake the test. Great view of Oakland - being on the 8th floor - and I LOVED how time went by quickly!! I HIGHLY recommend using Project Heartbeat to get BLS certified. P.S. Coffee, tea and water were available with some mints. Bring your own snacks if get hungry. Also, we sit in small desks that have wheels on the bottom. Be careful!! read more

The instructors were reported to be excellent, however, the administration department is an extremely unprofessional business that does not follow up on calls from students. They have your $3000 dollars and failed to execute their end of the contract. If they do not complete their part of the process students cannot move forward and take their test so they can work. My son has been waiting since the first week of September for their department to "approve" him to take the test. He could of been working this entire time and instead is sitting at home frustrated. I have tried to call their home office several times and the operator number sends you to a dial tone. Call the Better Business Bureau if this is also happening to you. read more

I just completed the program and couldn't be more happy with the knowledge and skills i've gained during these 5 weeks. The instructors were also amazing, extremely helpful and could answer basically any medical questions you have. I want to give a big thank you to Jeff(main instructor) for being an amazing instructor, teaching the material in a way that will help you for the nremt and real world work. I also want to say thank you to Michelle she was also one of the instructors and she came in on her days off to help us. read more

PHB instructors really care about your success and they make sure that you'll thrive in the field.

Justin is an awesome instructor!! Took the EKG course here and he made what were to me complex concepts really easy to grasp with actual real life examples and he has great energy as well so it makes the class go by fast. The knowledge and class experience I walked away with is so worth the hour drive. I will be looking forward to coming back to Project Heartbeat to do my ACLS renewal soon. read more

By some fair stroke of luck, I was granted the great honor of finding myself under the tutelage of the two fine, young men known by the great names of Brian and Hideki. To be placed within their fine pedigree of talented, phenomenal young medical practitioners was a strenuous task demanding great puissance, character, and discipline - all of the great makings of any refined nobleman. I find this younger generation to be plagued with many penniless pretenders and conniving con artists, but, as one may say, a polished diamond need not be placed among the slovenly mud for one to recognize its beauty; it is the stunning brilliance and resounding excellence of such a treasure that allows it to shine so radiantly. It is the duty and obligation of any fine gentleman to seek to be greater and wiser than they were the day before and that is the lesson of this fine academy as well. I was part of PHB 38 with Brian and Hideki and they were pretty cool guys. I've been through a lot of different teachers and professors and normally I can't even stay focused for the entirety of a 1 hour lecture, but I really enjoyed the 11 hour classes that I took with PHB. The instructors are engaging and have a great sense of humor. You can definitely tell that they enjoy teaching and that it is in their best interest as well as yours to keep the class fun and interesting. Becoming a certified EMT is hard work and being an excellent EMT is even harder. PHB will absolutely prepare you for when the proverbial turd hits the fan out there in the real world. As long as you work hard and put in the time and effort, you've got nothing to worry about. Loved this class. read more

majority of the instructors genuinely care ab students and make the course fun!!! (especially michelle!!!)

I'm super grateful for all the staff at project heartbeat! I really enjoyed the program and learned so much. Take this class!

This program is something special. I took the 5-week accelerated EMT course and it was the best decision. The instructors go above and beyond to make sure you understand the information (ex: they came in the middle of the week on their own time for tutoring and if they couldn't be there for tutoring, they were always a call/text away). Each and every one of the instructors are passionate about what they do and you can see it in their teaching. Brian, Hideki, Gino, Taylor, Jeff, and Andres are some of the best teachers I've had. Project Heartbeat - CPR Classes Near Me - Oakland, California

Project Heartbeat is definitely one of the most unique and amazing programs I've ever been through. I took the 5-week accelerated EMT class with no prior background in healthcare and was blown away! First off, the staff was incredible. They all took their time to teach everyone not only the knowledge needed in this line of work, but also the hands on skills necessary. They challenge you every hour to bring out your best self and be prepared for whatever may come down the line. I want to give a huge shout out to Brian, Hideki, Geno, Taylor, Jeff, Andres, and Colton for all the information they have passed on to me and for all the extra hours they took out of their own lives to help educate me more! If you're thinking of joining then do not hesitate to sign up here. Definitely worth every penny and the staff is very accommodating in providing payment plans that work for you! read more

Our instructor, Kaz, made it fun. I loved her humor which got me through the early 8 am course!

Just finished my 5 week training at project heartbeat. It was a great experience in learning EMS and trauma from such skilled instructors who come day in any day out bringing their 100% to the class. They do their best to accommodate for each and every person's learning needs and also give great support for studying and preping for the exams and rhe NREMT. Also have presentations from ambulance companies like Royal and AMR who help make the transition from class to field that much easier. read more

My experience at PHB for the EMT-B training program was absolutely brilliant. Not only did the instructors prepare me exceptionally well for NREMT prep through course materials and study materials, but they are also well dedicated to teaching beyond the test and how to be a good clinician as an EMT in the field. It's set apart by the genuine dedication of the instructors and volunteers to cultivating competent, compassionate clinicians, not just test-takers. The program is also structured in a way that helps gradually build skill/competencies and self-trust. The real-world training exercises combined with the trauma lanes experience, the latter unique to PHB in the East Bay, were incredibly helpful for growing my confidence week over week. The instruction staff is also super encouraging and always open and receptive to questions (it's overall a very constructive learning environment!). read more

Project Heartbeat's EMT-B class was one of the best educational experiences I've ever had. From day one, you can tell they care deeply about molding confident, capable first responders. It is NOT a certification factory. The small class size meant personalized attention, and our instructor Jeff, was incredible at breaking down complex skills into easy steps. He encouraged curiosity and was happy to answer questions about how it is in the field. He had so many amazing stories that make the material interesting and give you insight on how it's used in the real world. I've taken a lot of classes in my life and you can tell when the teacher(s) are just going through the motions. Jeff and the other instructors really cared and were passionate about what they were teaching. They all offered support and were willing to give extra help and go the extra mile to help you succeed if you were willing to put in the work/time. What really stood out was their hands on approach. Instead of weeks of lectures followed by a last minute skills marathon, each topic was paired with immediate practice. The class has real world scenarios almost everyday and they were incredible. They can be very intense, but it increased my confidence with skills greatly. I was considering multiple programs and am so glad I picked this one. read more
