Bay Area Training Academy in engrained into my heart. I cannot express my gratitude for the people…read morehere, they are heroes (in my opinion). I did the 8-week course and they increased my intelligence and I am eternally grateful for them doing that. They increased my confidence & allowed me to build social connections with both fellow students and instructors. I want to thank everyone that helped me because not only did they believe in me but they also motivated me to be a better human being, full of compassion & willingness to assist during emergencies. Steve Albright is the lead instructor and he is gifted at teaching and he is hilarious with his style of teaching. This man is very much a father figure and someone I learned a lot from aside from the medical material, he is truly a pleasure to be around and he lifts up peoples' spirits even though everything can be stressful. Michael believed in me and expressed it in a way that I can never thank enough. I value my newly acquired friendship with Michael and I definitely felt his passion for teaching and "his" love for his students. He is a great instructor who I am proud to have been guided by in this process of becoming a Emergency Medical Technician. He believed in me more than I believed in myself and that is something that money cannot buy. Henry taught me so much and gave me a platform to grow and thrive upon. He was so amazing at teaching and building confidence without putting pressure and it allowed for one to practice like they would in "real-life", therefore it is impossible for me to thank him enough. Nav guided me in situations that are stressful her guidance in tough scenarios which is something I will never forget. Her military expertise is something that I admire and will never forget her words and they will stick with me forever. She also enlightened me with potential career opportunities for someone like me, she did this for all of the students and I'm 100% positive that everyone gained confidence from her insight. Kristian was an amazing instructor who sharpened my skills with his style of teaching. He really helped cement my confidence and that is something I truly needed and value. I know that he didn't just want me to succeed but to also help the patients/people that we serve. The time that we spent together was not nearly enough because he had so much more to give and I had so much more to learn from him, however the time that we did spend was maximized and as I mentioned I am forever grateful for his time and energy. Patrick is like a friend who I have known my entire life and he is a wise teacher who made the learning experience more enjoyable and he reminded me why I am even doing this in the first place. He reminded me of my core values and the type of person I want to be, which is compassionate, sociable, and an intelligent leader who can get things done under pressure. This man is a person that everyone likes to be around and that is something I wish to emulate. Overall, this has been a life changing course unlike any other course that I have taken. I truly cherish these people and they are all heroes which deserve everything that life has to offer because they are doing it from the heart. I am proud to be a Bay Area Training Academy graduate and I will do my best to represent them as I move forward in my life. They are truly all beautiful souls who deserve nothing but the best and coming to the academy was one of the best decisions of my life. I feel more equipped to handle family emergencies as my elders age around me and in my daily life. I am excited to continue my education and these are people that I want to keep close to me. I feel like i found my "people"/tribe. I cannot wait for what the future brings and: Thank you for everything BATA, I love all of you! Sincerely, Raul Angel Maravilla (EMT212AL)

HUMANMADE has recreated the same concept as TechShop, but it's MUCH cleaner, organized and with even better machines. On top of that, it's in San Francisco! Other maker spaces I've been to are good at what they offer, but HumanMade is definitely in a league by itself. Everything is so new, clean, and well-maintained. The staff and volunteers are great for scheduling, advice, and people in general. For the monthly cost, it's less expensive than buying your own machines, then storing and maintaining them. Classes are offered to learn to use the machines which include: laser cutters, CNC, woodshop, Shopbot, industrial sewing, vinyl cutting, 3D printing, CAD programs, and a lot of other skills! I highly encourage creatives to check this place out.

And they refused to accept all of my emails, even though they were very important to me.

This place is a scam I was really hoping to get my contractors license and this place took…read moreadvantage of that right away they just want money and make it seem like no matter what happens you're going to pass but it's all a lie they only really teach you law and it's online with the worst teacher that has no real experience in teaching people. I asked to get a refund and they refused I asked them to just let it go to collection they also refused they want to rack up late fees and then take it to collection when it's maxed out there's no interest in there customers all they want is your money and that's all . This class was a waste of my time you could get all this information they give you online or at the library and not pay one penny

I recommend this school and their program, the classes were informative and structured in the best way to adequately prepare for the licensure exam. Not only that but she personally helped me fill out the application and make corrections and assisting with the bonds post exam. Positives: typically plenty of parking in the limited space of a parking lot. If you can't find any…read moreopenings, just use nearby parking. A great amount of good-quality basketball courts, and even a big baseball field surrounded by a good-quality track for people to walk or run. Using this place outside of noon-4pm hours, is a wise idea in warmer and hotter months...noticeably May-November, since there's little to no shade in those hours. But outside of those hours, you get cooler weather and/or a very good shade from the south side of the basketball courts. As if that wasn't awesome enough, there's very good wind protection here. This is my new favorite go to spot for basketball practice and outdoor exercise...John Muir Middle School is just too windy. Negatives: none of the basketball courts have the trademark square above the rim. Would be nice if they each had that.

I was a student at Bancroft Middle School a few years ago and really had to think about what to…read morerate it, I have to do multiple ratings, the teachers would get a 3/5 because they really helped me a bit learn what I needed, but others like Mr.Alvarez who is not their anymore really set me back, Mr.D was not a good teacher for me, he would pressure us to do push ups and be super mean if you did not follow his rules. But their were some good teachers like Mr.Murphy,Mr.Gary and Mr.Fox who were really cool. Their staff could have been better 1.5/5 I was their when the old principal I think he was Mr.Duorio or something like that got fired because of hiring a teacher who said insulting stuff to a student and was recorded. The next year I was their all the principles left because the students were fighting literally everyday sometimes 2-3 times in a single day! I don't really blame them it was tough, but I feel like the principles could have been a little more professional leaving. And I heard one of my teachers having a breakdown because the school environment was too chaotic. Which brings me to my next point the staffs control and handling of situations, now normally I am pretty fair and this is middle school, but come on now Bancroft, 0/5! In my 7th grade year their was at least 2 fights a day, In fact I was going to the office one time and talked to a kid who had been in 2 fights in a single day! Once I was in 6th grade and I LITERALLY see the ENTIRE school running including my friends who never watch fights, went over to the hallways to see a fight between 2 students that the sub-principal was trying his absolute best to break up. The ONLY reason I went over their was because I was trying to go to the restroom and almost got hit by someone throwing a milk carton and it bouncing off the restroom wall. When I got out, I just see the whole school running toward me so I run as well because I did not want to be stampeded, that was one of the scariest times of my life!. Then the school issues severe punishments like 4 out of 6 classes were tardy sweeps (which was if you did not make it to class on time, you would get a detention in Ms. Hall's class which traumatized me the only time I went, as Ms.Hall spoke harshly toward us as if we had committed a serious felony. I had a IEP so I got other special need help at the school so I would have to rate that reaction pretty solid a 4.5/5 because I had a really cool case manager who helped me out Ms.Arias and Mr.Gamba who was a really cool guy who helped me with schoolwork and other conflicts at the school. I had some counseling therapists who really helped me when school was too much. The special events get a 3/5 they had some exciting events at the end of year where the whole school went out to the field and their were bounce houses the gym was open and their were many games to choose from, but the dances were ok, in the first year I was their, it was after covid, so their was no dances. But the first few dances were choatic, but what can you expect from a Middle School dance. But over the next two years, it got better with just $5 you got a taco, a bag of chips, a water and admission to your schools dance as a student. And school recognition was a 2/5 because I was a student and I became a peer advocate for Ms.Slaton's class and had only heard of it once, no one paid attention to that. We tried to help students over the year who had some mental health challenges but I did not even talk with one student even though I was supposed to that year. But the clubs I did go to were really cool like Dungeons and dragons club in Mr.Foxes room, that was fun and their was a program called: Code Campus where us middle schoolers went afterschool to learn about career skills like how to code in minecraft to making hot plastic toys out of a sort of hot plastic glue gun? Bancroft was an ok school, if i were to do middle school over again. But bullying was really bad at this school I am nice to give anti-bullying here a 1/5 I had so many kids bully me and call me slurs in the sixth grade alone I lost track. I remember in 7th grade, a kid committed suicide because of the amount of bullying that was happening to them. I felt really depressed in 6th and 7th grade because of the bullying. I even had a friend tell me that their friend left the school because they got harassed in the restrooms. I sat with my friends who sat with a kid who was not fit to be at school, I remeber suggesting something too him and he physically stuck his fingers in my neck as well as my friends and threatened to hurt us if we did not apologize. I was very scared and once I saw that he had a knife in his bag, I immediately left my friend group that I knew because of that. I would have gone to a private school or John Muir; Bancroft needed a lot of improvement to be a normal middle school. I highly DO NOT recommend sending your kid to this school, or if you are thinking about this school, consider a different one.
