I was told that I would receive the true estimate after a representative visited my home the same day as the cleaning. I asked for an estimate before the scheduled date so that I wouldn't be surprised by increased changes and forced into making an on the spot decision based on a potential higher price. The estimate date was scheduled. When Andrew from Chem Dry came over he was using his laser tool to accurately measure the square footage and we discussed the cleaning. The reality was, it would've been about one room and a third to clean just the carpets. I live on the first floor and showed him where other companies had accessed my apartment. He indicated there wouldn't be any issues with access and told me the estimate I would receive should be very much in line with the initial quote of $155 but maybe, just a little above. After confirming an actual time of the cleaning, I felt assured the quoted amount would be very close to the amount I heard both on the phone and by the in-person representative. Later that evening, I received the official estimate. It was 35% higher...over $200. Included was this "access fee" of $95 which I was never told about or told to expect! Truly a shock! When I called the Chem Dry offices to discuss the estimate, I was told by the manager that they have a higher cost of doing business, have already invested money in my job by nearly providing an estimate etc. I countered by stating what I was quoted, what I was told in person and reminded the manager of my limited square footage. I offered to increase my payment from the initial $155 to $175 (which was very generous considering the area to be cleaned). The manager decided to stick to his figure of over $200 and so, I declined the service. The caution I wish to provide is not to accept a same day estimate as the cleaning to avoid decision pressure and to ask about possible hidden/undisclosed costs before scheduling. I am very disappointed at their hidden/undisclosed costs that were never mentioned on the initial call or during the visit for the estimate. This was a waste of my time and Chem Dry is a company that I am now reluctant to recommend. Incidentally was able to schedule another national company that I've used before for 60% less.

Whatever may be their misguided position on masks, they were to be working in our house. There are renewed mask mandates here, due to the deadly Delta Covid Variant. Minimal courtesy is required at the least, and no one should enter a customers home without at least offering to wear a mask. No other workman has refused this during the past year and a half. So they - unilaterally came much earlier then appointment window; and - arrogantly refused masks despite Delta Variant despite homeowner request With the hassle they caused, and their obnoxious and irresponsible behavior, they were worse than useless to us. Despite having a packed schedule, Mike came out to our property on a Friday morning so he could measure the damaged area and give us at least a ballpark idea of what we would be charged to see if we could still close on buying this house Friday afternoon. He was prompt, polite, and honest. He truly sought to give me the best service while staying as reasonable with price as possible. He was in constant communication with me and my mold inspector (Staci with EnviolCore, which is another glowing review). Shane came out and contained, remediated, and also kept in close communication with me. He also was fair and honest and understood we were on a budget. By 1:45 p.m., I had to call the company myself to find out what had happened. I spoke with Blade, who was cordial and explained that my phone number apparently had not been "keyed" into their system correctly. This was particularly frustrating because I entered my information correctly when scheduling online, and they had both my correct email address and home address in their system. Blade said he had attempted to text me and wanted to reschedule for another day. However, when a customer doesn't respond to a text--particularly for a scheduled sales appointment--a simple follow-up email or phone-number verification could have prevented the situation. What bothered me most was that although Blade was cordial, there was no real acknowledgment that their mistake had wasted my time and caused us to delay our vacation departure for an appointment they failed to keep. Instead, the solution was simply to reschedule for another day. Mistakes happen. An incorrectly entered phone number alone would not normally cause me to leave a negative review. The bigger issue was the lack of follow-through. They had my correct email and address, yet apparently made no additional attempt to contact me, and I ultimately had to call them to find out they weren't coming. However, disaster struck again. When my insurance company opened on Tuesday, I discovered that my deductible was 1% of the house value, meaning any repairs would be covered out of my pocket! Dan immediately contacted management. Nate arrived that afternoon, as per my request, they retrieved the equipment. BUT, they didn't stop there and bid me farewell. Knowing that I wouldn't be able to use their services further - they still used their specialized measuring tools and informed me that all but one wall was dry. They provided me with instructions on what needed to be done for that wall, reminded me that they had already sprayed the antifungal spray on the carpet, and assured me that they would be happy to provide further information about the basement reconstruction process if needed. WORST Contractors EVER!!!…read more Do not use this company. If I could give them -10 stars I would. We had a flood in a rental condo from the upstairs unit's bathtub, leaking down into the bedroom closet. We hired Anatom, because they had the most affordable rate (lesson learned!) They demo'd the flooring in the whole unit, including baseboards and the lower portion of the closet wall. I came to check on the work after they were finished. It was the WORST FLOORING JOB I've ever seen in my life. The grout in the kitchen tile was thick in places, thin in places, black in places, and every shade of gray you can think of in all the other places. It was dirty looking with grout smeared all over the tiles. The LVP had GAPS in between planks in the hall closet. The worst part is the baseboards, that are NOT MADE OF WOOD. I don't know what substance they are, but definitely not wood. It feels almost chalky. There are huge dings and dents in the baseboard in the closet, because it's a crumbly material. The trim they used for under the kitchen cupboards above the tile looked like pieces of 6 different random wood leftovers, that they tried to piece together. Part of the trim pieces were made of Balsa wood! The caulk in the bathroom between the floor and the bathtub was a tan color (floors are darkish wood, tub it white), and was bubbled. It looks like a 3rd grader did it. I met the contractors out at the property to point out all the problems. The 2 that showed up did not speak much English, so it was impossible to chat with them about what needed fixed. I pointed to the horrible grout job, and he said "My brother did it". Now why is his brother doing it? Does his brother work there? I couldn't relay that question to them, as it got lost in translation. My husband called them to tell them to come back and fix everything. They did and I went a 2nd time to check. Nope. The grout was better, but now there was a mysterious hard, sticky substance on the LVP in the bedroom, that I could not remove with cleaner or by scrubbing. Baseboards are still the same cheap, weird, non-wood material. Chunks are still missing from the baseboards in the closet. Trim in kitchen is now even more mis-matchy. Transition to the kitchen has a huge seam practically in the middle of the transition, with no attempt at caulking it. My husband called a 2nd time to have them come back. Now it's the 3rd time they're coming out to fix their sloppy job, and our tenant said they never showed. Anatom claims they did. I see nothing repaired. This time I called the 3rd time to have them come back (which would be the 4th repair, but is really the 3rd because they didn't show up prior), and Ehud says he's done coming. He paid his contractors and won't pay them anymore to come fix their mistakes. Ehud claims my husband was happy with the job. Absolutely not. NO ONE would be happy with that job. My husband just wasn't being confrontational. He wanted them to fix it, so he was using the bees with honey method. I truly think this was their very first flooring job they had ever done. It had to be. It was truly the worst job I've ever seen. The materials they used (baseboards, kitchen trim, transition) were just cheap parts, and random extra pieces they pieced together. They certainly weren't legit materials purchased at Home Depot or something like that. You can tell they were just trying to save money. I'll post the pics here if possible. Ehud says the problems were "minor", and only look bad if you blow up the pics. TRUST ME - Stay away! Call a reputable company that knows how to lay floors.
