I followed the diet closely for three months, and it was extremely effective in significantly lowering my A1C. However, I realized that such a restrictive diet was not going to be sustainable for me long term. At my request, Dr. Horvit referred me to a dietitian, who helped me develop an eating plan that was more realistic and sustainable. Over time, I have come to appreciate Dr. Horvit's approach and have found her to be very supportive. She is focused on helping her patients achieve the level of diabetes control they need while working with them to find an approach that can be maintained. My experience with her has ultimately been very positive. She takes diabetes management seriously, sets clear expectations, and genuinely wants her patients to succeed.

Dr. Veronica Supkay has made the transition much better than expected. She is kind, personable, and a very good listener- everything I need in a personal physician. She is great about answering my many questions, no matter how big or small. There is no resistance to my concerns and/ or requests for tests. I am very happy with BCFP and have been for all these years. Dr. Supkay is a perfect example of the excellence in healthcare I have come to expect at BCPF. She is the kind of doctor that collaborates- which is the ultimate trait I look for in a doctor. I am very satisfied with and thankful for the whole staff!

I never expected to get a very smart, progressively informed, warm And funny, down to earth Dr. all in one. I need a physician who is well informed about all the different aspects of health, and makes me feel like I am a human, and not just a car in a long line waiting to be serviced. I want to know that if I was in a hospital under their care, they would recognize me, care about me, and have some remembrance of my medical history/needs, maybe not all of them, of course, but after looking at my chart could recall what they were treating me for. I would also hope we had enough conversations and meetings that I feel secure and confident that they really care about me on a personal level as well as a medical one. I felt really good about Dr. Supkay from day one, especially when she told me she had gone over my previous records and knew about my history I was explaining to her. You don't know how many times a new Dr. walks in the room, and it is quite obvious they have only looked at my name, age and perhaps why I am there today, nothing about those 8 other pages they make you fill out. I felt like Dr. Supkay had been my physician for a long time by the end of my first appointment. I am thrilled I was able to obtain her as my new Dr., and I don't think I could have asked more or gotten more from another Doctor! Thrilled does is not a good enough description!

I am so very disappointed in this practice. I saw Dr. Chikkala for a couple of years from about…read more2019 to late 2021. I liked her a lot. I came to get my medications renewed and my pharmacy sent them to be ordered from the office. When I returned to the pharmacy they said they never got a reply. I would call the Dr.s office and it would go to voicemail and I would never hear back. I called quite a few times. I figured they closed or moved. I felt very betrayed at the time. I had to see someone else and then they moved. I recently went on Yelp to find a new doctor and saw that Dr. Chikkala was still at the same place!?? WT? I left another message, again, no response! I drove over there today and only the nurse was there. I told her about all this and said she would have someone get back to me. So Dr. Chikkala's husband (who runs the front) Just now called me. He was very rude to me. He said that because it had been almost 2 years that she was no longer my doctor, (well of course she wasn't). I wanted to go back to see her. He wanted to go round and round about when he "said" he called me back a long time ago and it was ME that never responded. LOL really? I DID call, MANY MANY Times! No one ever got back to me. Very irresponsible for a doctor's office. So, I said I would like to get in to see her. Then he tells me that I have to find another doctor because she won't have any information from the last 2 years?? Well, they can get that information from the last group I was at. He proceeded to then just make up stuff and it got ridiculous. He made no sense, I realized he was just being an ass. I really do not wish to deal with people like that so I will find a new, better, more communicative, and responsive doctor's office.

Dr. Holmes came highly recommended by Kristie W. at AAOBGYN and the pediatrician at St. David's North Austin Hospital. Their front desk, Dahlia, was very helpful in answering my questions, and flexible while I was in the hospital. We weren't sure if we were getting discharged after five or six nights, and Dahlia said it would be alright for me to call her at 8 am if we hadn't been discharged yet to reschedule the appointment for the next day. All of their pediatricians are open to delaying vaccines. I delayed the hepatitis B vaccine at the hospital as my baby was battling jaundice as a preemie. I trust Raquel, the nurse practioner who hails from Southside Chicago. She is very knowledgeable and was able to answer all of my questions on vaccines. She explained that the Pediatric RSV antibodies shot is not technically a vaccine per se, even though it's called a vaccine. She showed me the list of ingredients for the RSV antibodies shot which does not contain any preservatives or aluminum so that I felt comfortable giving him the shot one day after discharge. So far we really like Dr. Holmes. He's knowledgeable, kind, and gentle with our baby. He gives great advice to first time parents and isn't rigid on rules and feeding times as long as our baby is gaining weight. Our lactation consultant was giving us rigid rules and stressing us out, where as Raquel and Dr. Holmes put our minds at ease and said to keep doing what we're doing since our baby is gaining weight.

I am baffled at the 1 star reviews! I have had Addison's disease and hypothyroidism for over 8…read moreyears now. In that time, I have seen sooo many endocrinologists. I've had some that are just so incompetent and have no idea how to treat me. I've had some that don't trust me to know my own body. Dr Bledsoe is the opposite of these doctors. She knows enough about my diseases to where I feel comfortable and trusts me to know my own body. She doesn't make me feel stupid or like I'm some idiot who thinks they are a doctor because they know their own body. Some of the reviews say she rushes and has bad bed side manner, however every time I've seen her I feel it is the absolute opposite. She listens and is thorough. I get my blood work and information on any updates through the ARC My chart app. On the app, she writes any updates and why I need them. She also sends me messages when I don't have any updates just to let me know my blood work is fine. I also get these bars of what is a normal level and what my levels are so I can understand. She has also told me I can message her on that app and she will respond however I haven't needed to because her information is so thorough. I absolutely love her and I feel safe in her care. I am pregnant however I am not seeing her for any fertility reasons. She has been very supportive and cautious because it is a high risk pregnancy due to my auto immune issues. I wouldn't be writing a 5 star review if I didn't feel she absolutely deserved it. I feel sometimes when people are going through tough situations they see the bad instead of the good. I know, because I've been there. So take these reviews for what you will.

Note: This woman is an endocrinologist…read more I would prefer to give this woman zero stars. I guess having 57 degrees/diplomas/certificates plastered on your walls doesn't mean any one of them is for learning a decent bedside manner and some tact, or even that you're a very good doctor at that. I was diagnosed with Grave's disease by my stellar PCP Dr. Kravitz, my case was severe enough that he got me in with Dr. Bledsoe ASAP. I did not realize I was going to have to have my thyroid removed, when Dr. Bledsoe informed me I was upset and started to cry. She brusquely stated that once my thryoid was gone I would "be able to handle bad news better." I could not believe my ears. Things just went downhill from there. On one appointment after my thyroidectomy, after I had been on the hormone replacement for a month, Dr. Bledsoe actually held up the lab diagnostics report and squealed that my levels were great but did not bother to explain to me what each thing meant, what normal levels are, etc. She then quickly blew off my questions about not feeling that great mentally and physically, literally told me to "talk to my PCP because she could not help me" and ushered me out the door as fast as she could. Oh, and her nurses are incompetent. I had different nurses calling me and telling me different things after I would have blood work done and in one instance the nurse didn't even bother to note on my chart the things she said; the following day a different nurse called with different information and seemed confused by the fact that a nurse had already spoken to me the day before. I've called the nurses with questions, they've said they will ask the doctor and then I never heard back from them. To cut this short, Maya Bledsoe seems more interested in choosing her outfit for the day then helping her patients. I could never get an appointment after 10:00 am and I can only assume this is probably because every day is a half day for Dr. Bledsoe, she just seems that type. I would not recommend her to my worst enemy or anyone for that matter.
