Dr. Holmes came highly recommended by Kristie W. at AAOBGYN and the pediatrician at St. David's North Austin Hospital. Their front desk, Dahlia, was very helpful in answering my questions, and flexible while I was in the hospital. We weren't sure if we were getting discharged after five or six nights, and Dahlia said it would be alright for me to call her at 8 am if we hadn't been discharged yet to reschedule the appointment for the next day. All of their pediatricians are open to delaying vaccines. I delayed the hepatitis B vaccine at the hospital as my baby was battling jaundice as a preemie. I trust Raquel, the nurse practioner who hails from Southside Chicago. She is very knowledgeable and was able to answer all of my questions on vaccines. She explained that the Pediatric RSV antibodies shot is not technically a vaccine per se, even though it's called a vaccine. She showed me the list of ingredients for the RSV antibodies shot which does not contain any preservatives or aluminum so that I felt comfortable giving him the shot one day after discharge. So far we really like Dr. Holmes. He's knowledgeable, kind, and gentle with our baby. He gives great advice to first time parents and isn't rigid on rules and feeding times as long as our baby is gaining weight. Our lactation consultant was giving us rigid rules and stressing us out, where as Raquel and Dr. Holmes put our minds at ease and said to keep doing what we're doing since our baby is gaining weight.

This is a simple procedure that can certainly be done at a regular clinic. Does he do this with all his patients so he doesn't have to actually practice medicine? If we ever use this place again, we will make sure to try a different provider since he cannot be bothered. There should not be a wait when you're one of the first appointments of the day either. Unable to see a child in pain and experts in bad behavior towards parents scheduled an appointment for 11:30 AM. It was entered in their system as 11:15, and I -- the parent who booked it -- never received a confirmation. We arrived three minutes past the grace period for a time we hadn't agreed to, and our sick toddler was refused care. My child was in visible pain with a worsening infection and was never assessed or even looked at. No other physician was offered, no referral, no urgent-care suggestion. The front desk and office manager spent the time arguing with us about the clock rather than showing any concern for the sick child in front of them. This wasn't a one-off. Getting a timely sick visit with the MD has consistently been difficult, despite the practice advertising same-day sick visits. Zero compassion. If you need a pediatrician who will actually see your child when they're sick, look elsewhere. We've moved our care.

I think it's unacceptable to be treating patients this way who have been seen by the same office for years. At first it was coding that generated incorrect billing, that took months of my time to get it corrected; then they charged extra for appointments during their "open" Saturday hours and coded it so it wasn't covered by insurance as emergency. They are very misleading and deceiving. Tiffani and Toshia are the only reason we came back for so long. Getting ahold of anyone further than the front desk is a level 5 chore. When Toshia says call me, she doesn't understand how much of a chore that is. We end up waiting until our next appointment to discuss anything with her. Be prepared to pay fees, fees and more fees for every single second spent in the building. We have some of the best insurance, that covers most everything and they come up with incorrect coding that results in out of pocket fees every visit. Too bad our insurance office corrects it for us because they realize it's WRONG! Oh and when you decide to leave, be prepared to pay a fee for your child's records. There's a blurry line at the bottom of the release form that says "may" result in a few. Then they say it's their "policy," that is so deceptive to not just be transparent!!! They refuse to take responsibility for any mistake, they can never find previous payment receipts and try to make us pay even after I have proof showing we've met our out of pocket/deductible. My daughter actually looks forward to going to the doctor for her check ups. I think it's because she likes to ask Dr. Joe about his cats. The two of them will chat about their pets and share funny animal pics with each other. It is silly, but things like this continue to build upon their relationship and I just love that. Another bonus point is this office is a Covid vaccine site. They provide the vaccines for all of their patients, as well as their caregivers. At my daughter's last visit, we were both able to get our booster shots at the end of the visit. Sweet! It's a one shop vaccine stop. Anything that eliminates an extra errand for me is a win in my book.

We absolutely love Dr. Cheng! But Dr Cheng had some few reviews and they were all positive! Im glad I picked him to be our boys pediatrician. All of my boys (age 8, 5, and 22 months) love and trust him. He is very fun and engages the children in silly conversation. He explains everything to the children and guides them through step by step through the examination. No surprises and no tears! He is also great in following up with you if you came in with something more serious than a cold and little bruise. Hands on one of the best pediatric we had (and we had quite a bit of experience with dr as we have three very active boys!)
