Grease Monkey - This is a great auto service place! Right off of Weber Rd, just south of I-55, ask for Bill!

THE CARS (FEAT. MIKE + THE MECHANICS)…read more Like a greatest hits CD I'll never tire of hearing, speedy auto service at a fair price is music to my ears. Okay, so it's actually BILL + the mechanics who run a tight ship here at the Grease Monkey on Normantown Rd. This is an A-Team of friendly professionals that can handle almost any job, big or small. They can guarantee an oil change in under 30 minutes. Some sh*t happened to my poor Mazda a couple months ago and I had to have it towed for repair. Although it took a few days, they were able to replace a new ball joint and they charged me a reasonable amount for parts & labor. Fast forward to now, and I'm getting a standard oil & filter change. When they rang me up, I mentioned that the owner had said he'd "help me out" next time I came in. At first I got some blank stares, but after a few minutes of deliberation they came back and dropped the price from $101 to $86. This beat the $5 off online coupon, so I'm glad I asked. I'm not sure they topped off any fluids (brake, wiper) and my car's interior definitely hadn't been vacuumed. I already knew their car wash was out-of-order, so I didn't expect a sparkling exterior. On the other hand....I'd much rather save 15% on my bill and clean the car on my own time. * TL;DR * Honest, thorough, and they'll have you back on the road in a jiffy. If you need car work done, head over to Grease Monkey in Romeoville, not the Bolingbrook location on Boughton (who once fed me some pretty glaring misinformation about my broken-down car, requiring it to get towed a second time). As others have mentioned, Bill is a genuine dude. His team works TIRE-lessly to provide solid customer service, and in an industry where tons of people are overcharged and taken advantage of, you won't encounter that here. Great experience, I'll definitely encourage my wife and others to bring their business to this Grease Monkey.

The appraisal and the new battery installation took less than 10minutes. The prices for a brake and transmission flush were so competitive that I ended up getting them done right then and there. Overall, a great experience. I look forward to bringing my business to this Grease Monkey location.

After several minutes This guy (IVAN on the name tag) came out eye balling me like he wanted to fight and screaming for me to not honk the horn! I said there was no sign of anyone and I was just trying to get someones attention! As he continued to be rude I said I would have a word with his boss about the way he communicates with the customers. That's when he came at me swearing dropping F bombs like they where going out of style and went on that he was the boss! (I knew he wasn't because I was a loyal customer and knew the manager was Mike) I told him to F*&# off and started to back up to leave as he followed my car as if he wanted to fight! I'm a 63 year old but caught myself before getting out of the car to do something crazy like beat the shit out of a smart ass punk. I called Mike a few days later to fill him in on his employee of the month. Mike said he would check into it but I do not know the results of that conversation. Needless to say I will be finding another oil change company to do business with. If you happen to go there and IVAN is still there say Hi for me. By the way I went to the Dealer! $80 for a full synthetic oil change and they washed the car!

Meineke Car Care Center - Oil leaks weren't fixed

I had a very concerning experience at Meineke Car Care Center on boughton rd and would not…read morerecommend this location. I went in for a free inspection to get my ac checked and I feel like I was given misleading and dishonest information. I was told my 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee required the newer, more expensive YF (R-1234yf) refrigerant and that it could cost around $500 just to recharge the freon, but I would have to pay 169 for an ac diagnosis to see if it's a leak or anything else. However, my understanding is that this type of refrigerant is typically used in 2017 and newer vehicles, which immediately raised a red flag. They also claimed my oil was "very low" and that I had an oil leak but that would be a different diagnosis cost because they would have to degrease the engine and find the leak. Them not knowing that I just got the engine leak fixed from the housing. They showed me a picture of a completely dry dipstick, but it looked like it may not have been properly checked (as in, not re-dipped after wiping). To be sure, I went to Grease Monkey for a second opinion, and my oil level was completely full. Additionally, they recommended multiple repairs and services, including replacing the front lower control arm, flushing "dirty" brake fluid, replacing both air filters, and changing front and rear wiper blades. I just bought new blades and I had someone look at the picture and where they pointed to sayin my front lower control arm was torn/cracked and was told that it was a ball joint and it was fine according to the picture and if my steering wheel isn't shaking or I'm not hearing a noise I have nothing to worry about. My blades also work fine and given the incorrect oil diagnosis, it makes me question the accuracy and honesty of all these recommendations. Their future recommendations stated to replace the shocks and struts they said they were worn and based off age and mileage they should be replaced every 50,000 miles. I strongly encourage others to get a second opinion before agreeing to any repairs here. This experience felt misleading and eroded my trust completely.

They said it was the heat shield so I had them replace and was charged $900. The gentleman at the front desk said "All quiet now" and 2 days later the knocking started again. When they finally took a look at my car now they said the coils were broken and that would be $980 plus dollars. You mean to tell me that you didn't see the coils broken when you replaced the heat shield that was pobably just fine. This is why you can't keep money in your community (Bolingbrook) because people like you are taking advantage of hard working people! Dissatisfied Customer

I drove to and asked the Bolingbrook Midas if they could do the repair. Danny provided an estimate but cautioned me that the parts and repair required my car stay with them for several days and they could not fit my car's repair into their schedule that day. Fine!! We scheduled the repair and my car was dropped off on the arranged day. The repair was completed two days earlier than expected ( Hooray!!), the cost was the same as the estimate, and without me asking, Danny inquired if I needed a ride to pick up my car. I told him it was only two miles and I could walk but Danny told me someone would pick me up and immediately send a driver to my home. Great service!!! Thank you, Danny and Midas!!
