If I could give them 0 stars, I would. They ruined our once beautiful property with their lack of expertise in converting it to "desertscape". After 2 years with them, the management company said they "dropped the ball one too many times". They robbed us of our property value and $160,000. Within their warranty period, I alerted our management company that there were dead plants. PLS was slow to non existent when they had to come and replace them. Maybe a handful of plants were replaces, out of 40. They blamed the excessive heat. And the bubblers/Irrigation in certain places don't/didn't work. They were scheduled to come after a neighbor called them directly bc there were plants/Irrigation problems. Management company had them scheduled to come out again to fix problems a few days later. Then we come to find that there was some "emergency " on their part, and they never came, nor were there alternative dates suggested. They are flaky, incompetent, and I have absolutely no idea how they are almost 4 stars. Stay away from them. read more

DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH PLS! YOU WILL REGRET IT!!! We have a vacation home in Palm Desert and hired PLS to do landscape design and weekly maintence for us. At first everything seemed fine, they showed up and maintained the property. I later received a call from our neighbor that "our landscaping was looking sad and everything was brown and dying." To my surprise, Geoff from PLS had stopped servicing our property without notifying us! The home had gone months without any maintenance whatsoever, all while still charging us. I contacted Geoff, and after much debate as to when the service stopped he agreed to refund a small portion of our money. We were not in agreement on the exact date service ceased, so clearly were not in agreement on the amount of money that should be refunded. I later checked the motion history on our Ring camera to confirm the time frame that PLS had stopped arriving and departing from our property and could clearly see the exact date PLS had stopped service. I was not surprised to see that our service ceased far earlier than Geoff cared to admit. He then sent a "minimal" check to our vacation home. He was VERY aware that all communication should be sent to our main residence in Los Angeles, but still sent all communications and a small refund check to a property that we rarely visit. Months later, I found the refund check and deposited it, only to learn that it did NOT clear! I contacted Geoff right away a requested that a new check be sent out. I still have not received a reply. I was out the minuscule amount that he refunded us along with a $12.00 fee that my bank charged us for his "insufficient" check. All calls and text to Geoff have still gone unanswered. I am taking the time to write this, not because of the money, but because I do not want this to happen to anyone else..... read more

PLS did great design work but follow up was lacking. Hence only 2 stars. Last fall 2018 PLS was hired to landscape our backyard. We liked the design. It included removing existing grass and replace with rock and plants. It wasn't cheap. After completion we noticed "nutgrass" (or sedge) coming through the rock. A lot of it! Geoff sent someone to spray. Requires special sedge-killer. But it kept coming back. A lot of it! Geoff then said he would send someone out again. But they didn't show. This was July 2019. Email to Geoff bounced back. Called and was told he had left the partnership but I was still his customer and he would send someone out. Never showed. Haven't heard from him again. Now spends no more money to fix their problems. I pay for a result. Didn't get it. Didn't get the follow through. I was VERY patient. (Fall to July!). But have given up on this company and Geoff. You are warned if you go with them. read more

Update: January 2, 2019. Geoff's team came out and replaced the poles supporting all my new ficus plants with sturdier lodge poles so the plants would withstand the high winds we get. They also sprayed for any stray grass or weeds that popped up through the stones. When they tested the irrigation system to make sure they didn't disrupt anything, they discovered a leak in a joint of the older existing PVC pipe. They promptly dug down and repaired the leak. Above and beyond as usual. Very happy AGAIN! read more

In our HOA, Geoff and Company can't seem to deal with common area issues including dead plants, debris buildup and...the worst of all: Our previously lovely and mostly clean catch basin park which now has a serious dog waste problem. In fact, he took an attitude that his crew should not pick up dog waste in common areas and it is the fault of lazy and irresponsible dog owner residents (we pay his monthly fee). Now, the catch basin park is unusable because dog waste, new and old is everywhere, the worst it has ever been. Maybe it is time to call the city health department because I would hate to have people's grandchildren be exposed to this. read more

Geoff, In your reply to me, you never addressed the fact that two messages left with the woman answering your phone went unanswered, that you had said you were busy but said you'd get me something in 2-3 days, and also that the only time I heard from you was after I posted my initial review. You had said you were busy when you came over but NEVER indicated it would be weeks before I'd hear from you. I agree the lack of returning messages is not great communication. Perhaps, since you are so busy, the person answering the phone could have called me back with your answer. read more

Our HOA hired this company and for the last 2 years watched them destroy some of our vegetation, which now we have to replace at our own expense. They agreed when we contracted them to fix all our leaky valves and valves that had no water; however that promise was never fulfilled. They said they fixed some 200 valves; however after finally letting them go we have a landscaper who said there was no way with all the leaky valves and dead vegetation we have now. They were expensively priced for their services which provided no meaningful service. We now have an high expense to fix this horrible site and replace all they let die. Both partners came to only one HOA meeting in the three years they destroyed some of our areas. They lied to our questions by stating they came out once a week to look at the work being done. Had they come then they would have seen what all the residents were seeing and all the wasted water leaking from valves when we are in a drought. They would have also noticed plants disappearing due to no water. Then they stated they go to all HOA meeting of the communities they service. Well another lie because this is the first time I have ever seen you and I come to all the meetings and I am home daily. At least tell the truth. read more

Within 15 months they killed many plants, removed them without ever notifying the owner and ruined the overall design of the property. After they did that, they tried selling me their services for planting the plants that had been removed. Geoff and his crew tell all sorts of excuses and it is all lies. Open, instant communication regarding anything in the PLS maintained Association common areas - repairs or replacement done in a snap. Understanding and pleasant management and laborers. My residence is maintained as one of the nicest in my Association, a community residents, visitors, and real estate shoppers find so very neat, tidy, and well maintained. I have desert landscaping and turf - PLS did the design layout and execution, including eleven tons of decorative rock as a wall border, with simple, whimsical plants to offset the hardscape of the rocks and seven foot courtyard wall. The Common Area grass areas (retention basin) are fashioned as more park-like, than utilitarian.
