They don't even deserve a 1 star!
I came here last Thursday (6 days ago) to get the dip powder. I usually come with Tammy/Tina and they do a good job. The lady that did my nails this last time, didn't catch her name (sorry), forgot to put the base coat on my natural nail and when I told her she said "no, it's okay, it's same thing." At the end of the service she didn't put the top gel coat, which they usually do. At that point I didn't want to argue and figured it would be fine, they still looked shiny. The next day, Friday, one of the nails cracked. I should've known.
I went back to get it fixed and an older gentleman "fixed" it by filing down the existing color and just adding another coat on top. To his benefit, he actually did put the gel top coat.
On Sunday, 4 days later, two more nails cracked and 1 lifted. I was out of town, Labor Day weekend, so I went to get them fixed today. The manager had the same lady fix them. She appeared frustrated and started telling me that it was my fault because I had hit "something". I told her "I didn't hit anything, you forgot to put the base coat which helps the color stick to the nail so now they are lifting from the corners." She said "no need base coat, you pick light color no need base coat." I explained to her I've gotten light colored dip powder before and they always put base coat. Then she proceeded to say my cuticles lifted the color. She cut my cuticles on Wednesday. I asked her "in 4 days, isn't dip powder supposed to last 2-3 weeks? It hasn't even been 1 week." She got mad that I didn't allow her to put the blame on me and said "I have lots clients, first time this happens only with you!" Again, I didn't allow her to blame me and said "I've been here many times too and this is the first time this happens only with you."
All of this to say that 3 nails cracked 1 lifted within 4 days of getting them done. At the end I was told that if another nail cracks then I will have to pay to get them fixed. I asked if I could get them taken off and redone correctly (with the base coat) so that they could last at least the 2 weeks without lifting or cracking. I was told "No, this time they don't crack for 2 weeks and if they do then you pay to fix"
I'm not sure how they're not supposed to crack this time if they still don't have the base coat that prevents them from lifting and cracking and the gel coat that protects the color. read more
