Worst manicure I have ever had:( I went in with a friend and we each requested a spa mani/pedi. We sat next to each other in massage chairs. They finished both hands and feet on my friend in under 1 hour and my feet were not done yet and nobody had even started on my hands. They asked my friend to leave to free the chair for a new customer. She paid and left. I was asked to leave my chair and move to a regular chair for my manicure. Then they spent exactly 7 minutes on my hands and did not give any massage or anything. I left with dirt still under my nails and 2 bleeding cuticles. She apologized and handed me a bill for $43. Had a bad experience first year I went ever nail lady I got was rude and then they got mad when I went back in one day after three days of getting my nails done and the pink color had turned brown ! And they got mad at me ? And ignore me as they fixed it and said "okay you're done " and I left . I've been coming here over a year now and I love it. The staff is friendly and not overpowering like at some nail shops. They ask what you want and don't try to up sale you. My favorite nail technicians are Kelly and Emily. The only two ladies I let do my nails but the staff is amazing. Also, if you're into gel nails they have a 10 day guarantee policy. Was waiting for my husband to get an adjustment a couple buildings down, so I ventured in this nail salon. The service was quick, but I quickly started to realize this was going to be a bad job. I realize that waxing may not be a nail salons forte, but, I don't expect a terrible job. First, it looked like the wax wasn't even hot..had to wait a couple of minutes. The room was freezing, which is not good for waxing conditions, since the wax hardens very quickly and it's hard to spread. Then when she did my first brow, my skin was on fire. I'm usually not one to complain about pain, but this was the most painful brow wax I've ever had. Then she started talking crap about her workmates...how unprofessional! I have been here before and experienced great service, but nothing compares to the horrible way I was treated yesterday. I came in after work to get a quick mani/pedi before I picked up my kids from daycare. I was given Natalie and she greeted me with a smile. But once I said I would like to have the mani/pedi simultaneously her attitude changed. (I didn't have enough time for her to do my pedicure and then my manicure, I had to pick up my kids) She would not look me in the eyes or talk to me. She then proceeded to clean out my toes and instead of wiping the crud on the towel she placed it ON THE SKIN of my big toes!! She wiped it off on my skin 3 different times. After she was done with that foot she left it there and moved on to my next foot! While cleaning out the next toe she cut me with the file and just smirked at me. At the end of the pedicure I thanked her in my normal cheery voice and she just glared at me and pointed for me to "go sit over there " I get that people can have bad days, but when you are in customer service you are suppose to still treat the customer like they are your friend. I sadly will never go back here and i hope someone else doesn't get the misfortune being treated like this. read more

This salon looks very clean and aesthetically pleasing on the inside, however, the service I received from my manicurist was horrible. He was very rude: no small talk and short tempered. It's very sad because I was looking for a new nail shop and thought I would give this one a try but my search continues. I have found that when I want a high-quality manicure that this is the nail salon to go to. I am always warmly welcomed when I arrive for my appointment. Not only is this salon great for simple polish changes and manicures they also are able to provide nail art and designs for special occasions on request. I had a formal dinner to attend and wanted a design that was both professional and unique. The salon was able to provide me with a French manicure with an elegant blue line and accent gems. The finished result was both sophisticated and executed perfectly. I plan on using this salon as my go to salon for all of my manicures from now on. read more

I always have a good experience at professional. I never choose anyone in particular to get my nails done because all the ladies do a good job. I visited yesterday at noon and now I put an extra star for Dee. I'm pretty meticulous and always watching sometimes annoyingly guiding and making suggestions. Dee just did an excellent job and took initiative and solving some issues(with confidence) i had with a couple of my nails. I use to go to Art Nails because they are cheap and reasonable prices. Yes this place is pricey but it really is worth it. Every pedicure is done in the massage chairs. All the people who work here are very sweet and they have a HUGE selection of O.P.I gel nail polish. I always use the Vons parking structure so hopefully I will never get towed! read more

I only go to this place for my nails. The owner has greeted me every time I have arrived, and every girl that has done my nails have been nothing short of kind and friendly. I've only ever gone in on the weekends, and always without an appointment. The longest I've waited was for about 25 minutes, but I didn't mind. They have plenty of magazines and a pleasant waiting area. On average, I usually wait for about 10 minutes, without an appointment. My pedicure has been perfect every time. For a basic pedicure, it's $20, or $19 if you pay in cash. You are allowed to park in the Von's garage next door, and there is always plenty of parking. This place is the best! It was a Sunday and I was in desperate need of a mani-pedi. I live in Hillcrest, so I usually go to Tamy's Nail on 5th. Since I "Yelped it" and it was closed, I decided to give this place a shot and I am SO glad I did. The place is on Washington St. which is pretty close to where I live. These are the main reason why I like this place: *parking: It has parking behind the building or at Vons (with Tammy's: good luck finding a meter) *they take cards!! (so, do not worry if you don't have cash with you) * nice environment. Like I mentioned one of the owners, to me getting my nails done is something I want to be relaxing. They had relaxing music and no one was yelling around me. I do not appreciate how it has become a norm that people in nail salons yell at each other in their language. Don't take me wrong, I'm a native Spanish speaker, and it would still irritate me having people yell in Spanish. * clean: The place was immaculate. I did not visit the rest room, so at least what I could see was clean. * comfortable: They only have massage chairs, which I discovered can give you a good back rub while you get everything done. * one girl did my mani and pedi: Which I find convenient since I only have to tip her and not 2 girls. Also, she was very polite, nice, and did a great job. * they have CANDY!! next to the "nail drying station". They had M&Ms, jelly beans, and some candy. Yum! The only thing I did not like much was paying $30 for a mani-pedi when I used to pay less at Tammy's. But, that said, given the BIG difference in both places and how great my nails look, I do not mind paying a bit extra. read more

Hannah has done my nails twice now, and I will never go anywhere else for a gel manicure. Both gel manicures lasted 3 weeks (they guarantee it for 10 days) before chipping, and even when it chipped, it was only at the very tip of my nail, and you couldn't hardly tell.
