They were awful. I told them I wanted to keep my nail length as much as possible and the guy just cut them off. Then he gave me attitude and rolled his eyes when I asked him to even out the polish since there were a few nails that had indents. Then another lady who was helping close up shop was lying and grabbed my wallet to have me pay before they close. She was lying about me having to pay before the terminal shuts down for the day. That the card reader shuts down right when they close. My nails were still wet when I grabbed my card. Very unprofessional. And then they ended up forgetting to charge me for the gel removal off my toes so they charged for the about 15minutes after they closed. Also the next day practically all the nail polish came off. Worst experience ever. Poor quality, very unprofessional, and liars. read more

Haven't tried this place with the new management until now. I got a rose pedicure and it was 10/10 amazingggggg!!! They added fresh slices of oranges and limes along with roses. I also really loved that they have non toxic nail polish and vegan nail polish as well. The best part was that the massage included with the pedicure was not rushed like other places, and it's cheaper if you pay cash. I went in requesting removal of an old gel x set to have a new set put on, at first the staff was very welcoming and eager to help. During the application of the nail tips, I told the tech that the tips were pressing too hard against my cuticles and that I was in pain. They told me they could remove them and that I could come back tomorrow to have them done. I basically told them that I wouldn't be able to return the next day and they began to soak off the 4 nails they had already put on. Then they proceed to apologize and offer to fix them right then and there. I said ok. During the application of the new tips I noticed that the one on my middle finger was slightly too small for my nail bed and asked if it could be corrected. They got really frustrated and stated they would just cut them off. I decided to leave, so here I am writing this review with 9 gel x tips on my nails and 90 minutes wasted. I wouldn't go as far as saying not to come here but hopefully my experience allows you to make the best decision for yourself based on what service you're looking for. read more

Had a fantastic experience here! I was here for a gel manicure and a regular pedi. I was in and out in 40 minutes since they did my nails and toes at the same time. When I venture to a new salon- I do it for many reasons, obviously. - Location to where I'm running errands - Available Parking - Walk-in - Current Yelp reviews - Credit Card payment accepted - Hours of operation So, all of these were a huge plus when I ventured here last Friday afternoon. I love the central location in Hillcrest & the underground structure parking. Mind you- to park here- it's $3/ 20 minutes... but the nail salon OFFERS VALIDATION!! 2 hours free- so, bring your parking ticket! I parked at 11:38am & drove away at 1:20pm!!--- which still gave me time to go clothes shopping at a boutique on 4th Ave after my nails were done! So, I walk into the nail salon- huge spot, clean, & inviting. Can't remember if overhead music was playing- brain fart. Anyhow- 12 manicure stations & 13 pedi spa chairs available. With a great view of 5th Ave to people watch. I was automatically greeted by Ryan & he inquired about which services I'd need. I like to be politely repetitive when I mention I have my natural nails & an acrylic overlay... and that I have gel polish on my fingers & toes. As many of you know- depending when you arrive at a nail salon- as a walk in- can make or break your day. I like to arrive as early as possible. And it's a gamble if you get both services (mani/ pedi) at the same time. I truly lucked out on my arrival. Ryan worked on my manicure & Nina worked on my spa pedicure. Both worked efficiently & were very professional. Heck- there is even a beverage included in these services! Options were wine, juice, or water... it was the beginning of a 3 day weekend off. So, why not indulge in some white wine? There is a services menu offered... hot stone massage, blah blah blah. But, Ryan told Nina I wanted basic gel spa pedicure. I loved how Ryan applied thin acrylic powder to my finger nails. For both mani & pedi- (I did even get a lotion massage from Nina after my pedi was completed)... steamed towels were used to wipe off access lotion. There's an ATM on site also for a $2.50 charge. Not shabby! Cash tips are recommended & staff can always make change if you withdraw money from the ATM to tip. read more

I am so disappointed. I gave this place three more tries after it started to go down hill earlier this year in 2021. I didn't want to give up. But after my experience yesterday, I'm done. I've had too many bad experiences and "another tries" that it really saddens me to write this. I show up at the scheduled time and they didn't have anyone to take us. The chair they started to get ready for me, I asked not to sit in because I knew it was broken from another time I was there (one of the other tries I gave this place). When I told them I didn't want to sit in it, they tried to put my mom in the broken one and me in another one. I explained I wouldn't want to give my mom the worse chair so they would need to put us somewhere else completely with two chairs that massagers worked (the entire 8 or so other chairs were completely open). I was moved to another chair that they promised was working, it was also broken. I googled how to restart the chairs programming, maybe I could fix this problem on my own, no luck. I did this while I waited for someone to do my nails (even though I had an appointment) 30-minutes went by. I became frustrated that my chair was broken, that they supposedly had picked one that had worked, that everything I did to make it work wasn't working. All the massage chair did was the penetration setting (where the chair basically hits your back so your boobs shake), or it has the up-down mode to like adjust where it will set the penetration setting... basically the massage setting, the calm and smooth relaxing setting of the chair, doesn't work. At this point I'm annoyed and no longer able to relax. I realized after 30-40 minutes I wasn't going to keep up time wise with my mom who had gotten started right away. I decided go move to a regular (non-pedicure chair) to sit close to my mom and talk to her while she got her nails done. I sat there for another hour while my mom finished. Meanwhile the other workers became available and all the other chairs were available BUT no one asked me if I would like to get my nails done or started in a different chair. At one point one of the other manicurists came over and said sorry? But it's like why are you sorry? Why don't you just offer me a new chair and ask me if I want my nails done? I was livid about the entire situation. This hasn't happened every time, but the chairs being broken is every time, and the appointment and no one available situation has happened at least 3 times this year. The new owner explained there has been a delay in completing the process in change of ownership? I don't know, if that's the case then don't bother reopening, bad management makes excuses and this is the start of their new management, I'm never going back. read more

I love this place and have been coming here for the past few years for my gel mani+pedi. The staff is always welcoming and pleasant. I would recommend calling ahead, walk-ins usually have to wait if it's busy (obviously) They offer water, wine, and hot tea. The people that work here are extremely hard workers. Treat them kindly. You know what you do when you turn 40? The answer is: You go to Tijuana, you drink every possible drink that is put in front of your face, you slam a few tacos, you stumble back to the border, you get pulled into secondary, you get your Sentri card confiscated, and you get home to take a shower. Once you've licked your wounds you grab a few bottles of wine and get a pedicure. For $23.00 you get about a half hour of pampering here and walk out with blue toenails. Easy, right? Sure was! The staff took us in as a last minute party of four and the big room ensured that we weren't a total buzzkill to the other customers also in search of a little bit of R&R. Not happy... I walked out in the middle of the pedicure. Before it started I told the lady I would pay the extra money for callus remover but that I wanted the acrylic drill used on my feet instead of the liquid callus remover that never seems to work. She agreed that was fine and that she would be charging me extra for it. This pedicure was going to cost me $50 plus at least 20% tip and I was happy to pay that but the girl started using a different type of drill that was intended for feet and it had no charge on it or battery power and was doing absolutely nothing when she started using it, so I asked if she could please use what they agreed to use on me - the acrylic nail drill, and she said no they would only use the other one that wasn't even working. There's literally zero difference between using one or the other, you take off the sandpaper coating for sanitation and replace with a new one each time. She kept insisting she would not do it so I gave $12 cash to the manicurist for clipping my toenails and filing them and I walked out. I even told the girl I was planning to write a yelp review and there was nothing done to make me want to stay or to keep my business. It was my first time there and there was nobody in the place except me and one other person. Not a smart way to keep your customers coming back, especially when there are 10 different nail salons in the neighborhood around this place. Really sad because this place looked amazing and I wanted to love it and make it my regular place. I see that the owner has responded to this and he is completely lying. Instead of trying to win back my business, he lies. The way I told the story is exactly how it went and it was incredibly disappointing. This place was empty with nobody in it and I did not treat anyone like a "slave " as he said. But that's an interesting rebuttal for someone who wants to be combative and not try to be a good business owner and fix a problem. Totally OK though... Thankfully there are at the very least, 10 nail salons right in that same neighborhood. Very competitive industry. The difference is good customer service and integrity for your work and your word. read more

Have you ever noticed how women in a certain age group look at your nails? My mom used to drive me nuts in college when I was broke staring at my nails and asking why my polish was chipped. Nails have never been my "thing." I always forget to take my polish off and I frankly would rather be doing just about anything else (watching Fox News, going to Home Depot, folding laundry) than sit 2 hours to get my nails painted once every 10 days. However, my boss looks at my nails, my clients look at my nails, my mom still looks at my nails- maybe as a sign of being together? Successful? I don't know, but what I do know is that I need them done and I do not like maintaining them. Then I found this freaking GODSEND! I was living in Carmel Valley and commuting here irregularly and getting them done at a handful of other salons. I do dip powder for my nails because I basically had no nails after my acrylics and gels ruined them for a few months. Dip was cool at most places but I would always have one nail pop off at week 2 or early in week 3 (yes I know that's typical and expected). Here, I noticed they did dip then gel over it. These fingers last four weeks. I am brutal with my hands in water and exercise with weights etc so there are plenty of opportunities for me to lose a nail. Whatever they do works to keep my nails looking (at least) okay for FOUR WEEKS. So, if you are looking for dip powder, you hate sitting at the nail salon frequently, and you like white wine, I would highly recommend this salon. Disclosure: I can't do eye-popping nails with my job so I don't know what they do in terms of design/bejewels/all the fancy cuts. But, I consistently get compliments on the muted colors and the look of my nails. My pic is of my nails 6 days after getting them done. Those are my real nails, no tips, and SHORT because dip is amazing and my nails now grow to acrylic lengths when I let them. read more

I've been coming here for the last year and really enjoyed it after the new ownership. Cindy was my lady until she left one day. After that I returned with a girlfriend and bought the champagne spa package but the next time I came alone I was charged $70 by Jenni for the basic home style pedicure with gel plus gel removal. I was in a hurry to leave so I didn't have time to dispute it. The next time I went I paid $50 for the exact same service. I brought a friend along this last Monday and ended up with Jenni again. She was in hurry trying to remove the stubborn gel polish off my toes and I had to pull my foot away from her three times because the nail drill motor was too hot and I verbally told her that each time. After she sped through the rest of the pedicure I ended up with lumpy polish on my big toes. When it came time to pay I combined the total with my friend. The special was $27 a pedicure if you paid cash so for both of us it was almost $100. I had a stamp card with 7 stamps so I was given a $21 dollar discount and it ended up being around $76 for both of us. Due to the lack of consistency in pricing and quality of work I won't be returning or recommending to anyone. read more

I used to come here (and loved it!) and only changed nail salons because I moved and there was a salon within walking distance. I've been getting dip for years, and almost every time I got my nails done at my new place they would chip or the full polish would pop off after just 2 days. This last time almost all my nails were chipped or popped up off within a week so I decided to go back to 5th Ave to help fix them. The tech was SO nice and reassured me that shouldn't have been happening with dip nails. She was so fast and efficient without impacting quality. She continued to make sure I liked it and explained that they should last at least 2 weeks. I already cannot wait to go back! This nail salon has reasonable prices and they offer you a complimentary drink with your service. I have brought my daughter in for a kids mani pedi too. Although they don't have a kids size pedi chair they make it work with lots of pillows. I suggest to make an appointment if it's not mid morning on a week day or a random slow time.
