They replaced our solid-wood backyard pergola and added adjustable shade panels and lights to it, They built string lights with new posts and wires. They designed and built a lovely custom pergola over our side patio. They also repaired the wood for our front balcony and added elegant curved elbow bracing. Then they went and painted all three pillars at no charge, just for a perfect color match. It looks superb and brings up the house's street appeal. Andrew from ProDeck was very professional from the beginning. I had four estimates and he was the only deck builder who sent me an AutoCAD drawing with the estimate. His price was also very competitive. We weren't ready to start until several months later, but he helped me solve a riser/tread equation question I had in a design for my sister's property, so I booked him immediately for MY project. He was very popular, so we waited about four months. His guesstimation was right on for the start date. After the build began, I could see that one of the two stairways was being placed in a different place than I had wanted it, but it's sometimes hard to describe exactly how and where you want something, so I was SO happy with everyone's flexibility and Andrew for saying we could move the stairway. I still feel unhappy from a previous contractor's inflexibility about another project and I live with those consequences every day, so it is SO nice that I didn't have to settle. Thank you Andrew. The crew cleverly came up with some building design solutions on the fly to create the set of stairs connected to ramps to form my beautiful Trex Trail and deck. I can't even tell you how happy I am with the job this company did. It was a fairly large project, entailing the removal of a 40-year old rickety set of decks which were more than 1000 square feet altogether. Both decks needed to be replaced because of termite damage (they were installed before the era of composite decking materials). The job involved steep slopes, working around foliage, and matching colors and materials to existing products to a section that was remodeled in 2012. The crew knocked out the entire job in 9 days, and the end results were amazing. The deck FINALLY matches the views the house offers, sitting above Mission Bay, overlooking coastal San Diego. Since they were doing such great work installing the deck, I asked if they could add 4 window awnings to our house as well. We could not be more pleased with the results. This review is WAY LONG OVERDUE!! Andrew and his crew do amazing work!! He was recommended by JW Lumber stating he was their biggest Trex customer -- overall he does beautiful work! This review is overly delayed as he built my deck, in 2020. We wanted a 20ft wide deck with only two posts, so needed additional engineering services -- Andrew was awesome and very honest -- no mark up. Due to high cost of stairs, he let me buy it and he just charged a flat install fee. BTW stairs alone cost ~$10k from Trex with all the options (Trex boards, lights, etc., 6ft diam, etc.)-- but will last forever vs cheap iron stairs. Overall Andrew was very patient with us, and accommodating and overall made us feel like we were his only customers. ...was shocked to realize how many decks him and his crew do in a year -- amazing. Our deck still looks beautiful 3 years later, zero issues, and we get tons of compliments. Andrew did the deck, water proofing, under-deck ceiling and the spiral staircase. Andrew and his team were hired by our 176 unit HOA to replace our wood railing with TREX. They did horrible work and charged a fortune. They never fixed the stucco where the trim was removed and covered it up with the new TREX. Now that it has been raining we are experiencing so many leaks. Amazing! Thanks to Yelp for the reviews that helped me select ProDeck Construction. I received quotes from ProDeck and one other 5 star provider for replacement of a 25 year old redwood deck. Both were great to work with and do outstanding work as Yelp reviews report and by my assessment after seeing decks they had completed. I was just a bit more comfortable with Andrew (ProDeck owner) and his bid was lower by a significant amount. His quote was straight forward and clear without the legalize and conditions (if statements) in the other quote. Andrew provided a number of options and, as the project neared, accepted changes without issue. Andrew made valuable suggestions I was happy to accept. Once the old deck was removed it only took his crew three days to complete the new 500 sq ft Trex deck with a metal cable railing. I was impressed at how well his crew worked together and the quality of their craft. There are always unexpected issues requiring extra time or expense but they didn't up-charge me for any of the extras. A couple of minor problems were addressed and fixed after the install again without issue and to my complete satisfaction. Both materials used and quality of construction were outstanding.
