Gary diagnosed the issue quickly, cut a new sturdy metal key to force the lock open (as a temporary workaround), thereby protecting my only key from potential damage, and he coordinated with their shop to order a replacement lock, the permanent fix for a known issue with my make & model, which I can have installed at their shop in a few days. Gary also jumped/charged my vehicle's battery for 10 minutes so it had enough power for him to program two new fob keys, at a very reasonable price, and he counseled me regarding how long it would take to fully charge my battery, both via highway driving and by A/C charger. Gary was courteous and professional throughout the entire process, and he answered all my questions in a friendly and knowledgeable manner, with bonus techno background music playing from his van throughout! Gary transformed a bad morning into temporary fix PLUS positive steps toward a permanent solution which will protect me from future lockouts!
