First, I want to recognize Alex and our customer manager. They made us feel valued even after we became homeowners, which we truly appreciated. Their professionalism and continued support made us feel like we were still important to them after the sale. Unfortunately, our experience with the construction team, particularly Mike, was the complete opposite. During our move-in walkthrough, Mike rushed us through the inspection, saying he had other appointments and needed to hurry. We didn't feel we were given enough time to properly inspect our home. He also dismissed several legitimate concerns and even made light of some of the issues we raised. We had to repeatedly insist that many items be documented before they were finally added to the list. In contrast, the other construction managers we interacted with were much more professional, patient, and genuinely cared about resolving our concerns. Even after the walkthrough, it took three separate service visits to complete many of the repairs. After moving in, we submitted two warranty requests during our first week. Nearly a month later, they still had not been fully resolved. We also had a thermostat issue where Mike told us he had already contacted the HVAC contractor. When I called the contractor myself, I learned they had not even received the request until about two weeks after we submitted it. I ultimately had to coordinate much of the resolution myself, which should not have been necessary. While we like our home overall, we've also noticed that the paint finish and some of the woodwork don't seem to match the quality we expected in a new construction home. There are also areas where Risewell could improve customer satisfaction, such as allowing small customization requests, using elongated toilets instead of round ones, and installing higher-quality fixtures in the highest trim packages. We enjoy our new home, but the move-in and warranty process was far more stressful than it should have been. I hope Risewell continues to improve its construction quality and warranty experience, as the sales team set a much higher standard than what we experienced after closing.

Today, my agent and I went to a showing after texting Susan, to see a home in the San Dimas area. Susan okayed the viewing, and after viewing the home, I was sold on signing up for the property. After the viewing my agent tried contacting Susan multiple times via email/phone/text as she was not responsive for multiple hours. I had my paper work ready to send, but was on hold for hours. We then receive a call back (after work hours), to say that the home was actually sold today... No explanation, just that it was sold without telling us anything or updating us. So in short: I wasted my entire day for this viewing that I liked, and did not receive any updates on it at all. It was basically a tease for me to enjoy the home, but then tell me "sorry for not responding to anything, but the house is gone". Awful agent, awful experience, and overall an awful professional experience that led to me wasting my day/energy. If they have a property to view, consider it gone without you knowing it, and that they will not respond to you.

She said that the carpets were new when we moved in when we know for a fact from our landlord (and have pictures for proof) that it was not spotless and had a layer of dust on top due to its two year vacancy. Get your facts straight. I left feeling angry and insulted, there's no reason for anyone to talk to you and treat you the way they do. ESPECIALLY for real estate agents. Instead of focusing on a reasonable $100 difference that could have easily made both parties happy, they chose to argue and escalate things publicly through responses rather than work toward a solution. That says a lot about their priorities. The bigger issue here is the lack of transparency. If the price was always firm at $4,200, that should have been clearly stated upfront. Instead, we were led to believe there was flexibility, only to find out after paying application fees that there wasn't. The communication throughout felt dismissive and unprofessional, and their response only reinforced that. I think the newly renovated apartments and location tend to trick interested renters (it certainly tricked me) into signing a lease. Be warned- working with Fairgrove on any issue (maintenance or otherwise) is a nightmare. The only reason Fairgrove's rating sits anywhere above a 1/5 is because there is an occasional positive review left for a random building manager, which always follows a super negative review... Interesting. I should have known from the start when it took the current building manager over 6 weeks to send me a lease after I toured and said I was interested. This threw off my entire move timeline, which is a bigger deal than not when hunting for apartments in LA. After multiple reach out attempts, I gave up and decided to rent elsewhere. It was only then that Fairgrove came running, tail between their legs, apologizing for the issue. I decided to give them a second chance, only because of how much I liked the building. That was the worst mistake I could have made. As a resident that's been here nearly half a year, where do I start? Well, there are ALWAYS maintenance issues, and ALWAYS disconnected communication between property managers and Fairgrove itself. Calling the 'emergency maintenance' line for Fairgrove is a joke. Sometimes they hang up on you, sometimes you're left talking to yourself, sometimes they claim they're 'fixing' an issue, and literally nothing is done to fix it. We recently had a hot water outage that lasted over 2 days, and were only given updates after the outage had lasted 36 hours. There was nothing done by Fairgrove to apologize for the inconvenience. The parking garage gates haven't been working in over 3 months, which poses a huge safety issue. The company is clearly greedy, disorganized, and couldn't care less about their residents. There are many other small, locally owned apartments in LA that I've had exceptional experiences with that I would highly recommend checking out over Fairgrove. UPDATE: The overhead garage door (that hasn't been working in over 4 months) attracted thieves, and a resident had his car broken into over the weekend. Fairgrove has done nothing to remedy this.
