They give you a low quote and then put your belongings on a truck and raise the price and will hold your belongings hostage until you pay. They do not use an actual company truck. They show up in u-hauls. Probably easier to keep people they ripped offs furniture. They do not care about damaging furniture or property. The owner is extremely rude and resorts to bullying and intimidation.

I read it again and it say 120 per hour, 120 per person, plus truck free, plus travel fee, plus no coverage. I called police. Police told me its civil matter and to go to court. Ahmed and his partner arrived a few minutes early which was very helpful and they worked efficiently and were very careful when handling my furniture and boxes and other items like lamps. Moving between condos means having only so much elevator time and they completed the move within the time allotted. This is truly a company that cares and is always willing to help.I had a problem with opening a couple of drawers in one of my dressers - it's an older solid wood one - and I contacted Pari at the office and asked she knew of anyone who might be able to help. She responded immediately and sent someone over to check it out the very next day. Ahmed came and examined and studied the dresser and worked until he finally figured out the problem. The problem seemed to be a result of the extra humidity in my new place which caused the wood to expand just enough to cause a issue. After Ahmed's help, the drawers now open and shut as they should. A lot of companies might just feel that once the move was complete their job was done but Great Toronto Movers went above and beyond the call of duty to help. And I should mention the pricing. The pricing is very fair and you know exactly how the pricing is structured and there are no hidden fees - something I discovered that many moving companies have - but not Great Toronto Movers. The initial request to have this moved came from the fact that I'm not in the area and working remote for my boss, so paying cash in person wasn't an option. They claimed paying in person with cash was always agreed upon, which it was clearly not, in a particularly RUDE and CONDESCENDING fashion. I explained to them I had already put down deposit on this piece of equipment, and even offered to pay them more money, but they refused-- once again in rude and condescending fashion. I had an excellent experience with Cargo Cabbie when I moved to Toronto from the US. I had a very…read morestressful move in the US, sold a house, packed everything, arrived in Toronto one day late. Cargo Cabbie was AWESOME! They adjusted my arrival date for a small fee. They completely accommodated my needs. I arrived with a UHaul and they unloaded the entire thing with great skill and care for my belongings. They assembled my bed and dresser and when a piece was missing (which was my error) they gave me advice for what to do to get it fixed. They worked quickly but carefully. I am using them again for another move to a storage unit. This time I will have them use their truck since it will be most economical. They charge a fair price and they will deliver to any storage you choose, not just their company's storage location. One other company would not empty the UHaul, but Cargo Cabbie would! They made my move on the Toronto end painless and a positive experience. They earned their tip! A friend of mine hired their company to move his office, and they did a wonderful job for his office as well. I recommend them without reservation.

I submitted a formal claim with photos, receipts, and detailed communication -- and followed up multiple times. They responded slowly and blamed me for signing a delivery form, even though I had no way of knowing at the time that the item hadn't been delivered. After dragging the process out, they offered a partial refund -- but only if I signed a legal waiver and non-disclosure agreement. When I refused and made my position clear, they continued to push for a private phone call rather than resolve anything in writing. This experience was marked by delay, denial, and pressure -- all wrapped in overly polite messaging that obscured a complete lack of accountability. I can't recommend this company to anyone. [Update in response to Cargo Cabbie's reply:] I contacted them the day after the move (July 16) -- not two weeks later. I submitted a timely, well-documented claim, and their first response came on July 28. I gave clear instructions that only one loveseat was to be discarded -- not both. The blue velvet one was not authorized for disposal. The compensation they offered was conditional on a legal waiver and non-disclosure clause, which I declined. I remained open to resolution -- but not at the cost of my voice. This review reflects my truthful experience. [Final update - August 27, 2025]: Following this review, I was contacted by Cargo Cabbie and we have since reached a settlement. I received a refund, and the matter was resolved to my satisfaction upon receipt of the agreed funds. I appreciate their willingness to follow through and close the matter constructively.
