I saw the reviews left here and also received many positive reviews from family members that had used this company previously. I therefore felt no hesitation in using these movers. That was a mistake. The movers showed up on time but it was quickly clear that their punctual arrival was going to be the highlight of the day. One of the movers was perfectly fine but the mover who made this into a shitshow was beyond incompetent. Here are just some of the obnoxious things he did. - Repeatedly asked me if I spoke Hebrew (I do and was not offended by the question but to hear it 6 or 7 times was a bit much) - Repeatedly asked my girlfriend if she was Moroccan (she is not) - Tried to prop open doors with a quarter on multiple occasions (this did not work on any of the occasions) - Dropped a box on his foot because of his carelessness - Insisted on showing me the Donald Duck impersonator he hired for his daughter's birthday (I have no idea why) In addition, the move was incredibly slow. I spoke to the owner of the company - Serge - at the end of the move and he told me it was because one of the two buildings from which we moved had very long hallways and two elevators. I agree that this made things more difficult but the move could still have easily been completed more quickly had we had two competent movers who spent a few minutes planning things out and showed just a little bit of urgency during the move. Finally, they did not have basic proper equipment including something to hold open door (they spent 5 minutes at each building breaking up pieces of cardboard) and enough shrink wrap to cover two mattresses. I'm sure that, based on what I heard about them previously, this company is perfectly competent on a good day but our move was not that day and I wouldn't risk your move either. RESPONSE TO JOSEPH While I appreciate that Joseph took the time to respond to my review, the response completely misses the point. It is true that nothing was damaged and that movers need to pace themselves. It is certainly not true that no expense was incurred. Despite the challenges associated with the elevator and hallway in one of the buildings, there is no question that this move could have been completed in 6 or 7 hours. I've moved apartments many times. I know how fast good movers can typically get stuff out of and into an apartment. These guys were moving at a glacial pace by comparison, leading to an inflated bill. Joseph mentions that Serge (the guy managing the move) rounded the number of hours down from 9.5 to 9. This is true but in no way did it bring the bill to anything remotely reflective of the number of hours that should have been worked. UPDATE Without any prompting on my part, Serge reached out to me on June 11 over text and offered a $200 refund. I appreciate the gesture and think that it speaks well of the company that they made the offer without any prior commitment on my part to update this review. I hired this company on July 26, 2018, to move from Thornhill to Richmond Hill, with some other items going downtown. 2 courteous and professional gentlemen showed up at the proper time and started moving my furniture immediately. They were very efficient, used the proper equipment and blankets and had everything packed up within the time estimated. The move on the other end in Richmond Hill also went as smoothly, there was nothing damaged and my items were arranged in a proper fashion. We booked with this company for our end of June move on May 10th, on May 31st they confirmed the booking in an email. Yesterday, June 22nd they called to let us know "something had come up" and they would not be here to move us on the previously agreed upon date. This totally unprofessional way of conducting business has totally messed up our plans for moving. Fortunately we were able to find someone else after much scrambling and worry on our part. read more

Had occasion to use this company Jan 7th 2015.. The two men who moved me were sensational, very hard working, kind and respectful. This company gave me a quote not noticing I was moving from Toronto to St. Catherines and provided a quote for a move within Toronto city limits. Only on the day of the move did they notice their error but with little pressure from me honoured the original quote saving me hundreds of dollars. That is integrity over and beyond in my opinion.. Knowing the bill wasn't going to be as high as expected the two movers remained friendly, courteous and very hard working throughout ; I am very very impressed with this company and feel it only proper to comment on their excellence. not preferred. unprofessional. didnt have boxes, or wrap, or anything! Our floors and carpets are a mess because they tracked their boots with snow and mud everywhere. I asked them if they had anything to cover their shoes, so they used saran wrap....but then went back and forth in the snow and mud with saran wrap on their feet!! They didnt have screwdrivers to help disassemble my desk, so i has to leave it behind. They broke a bunch of my breakables because they threw my chest full of valuables on its side. One of the workers didnt speak english, but no one told me, Id say something, he would nod and say yea or ok....only to find out at the end of the move that most items didnt even make it in the house. i called the company and the manager hung up on me, was incredibly rude and tried to tell me it was my fault. read more

Two recent local moves for me were both handled expertly by this great team. I live in Newmarket. Great communication and accurate quotes were a big plus. On moving day the men arrived in good spirits and were very easy to work with. They worked carefully but at a good pace. It poured down with rain as they were unloading the van at the new house, but they still kept working. I would definitely recommend BWTM to anyone looking for a smooth and affordable move. read more
