If I could give zero stars, I would. I have never been treated with such disrespect by a business. My family has had FIVE vehicles tinted by Pro-Tinting dating back to when they operated out of their Elizabeth location. Because of those positive experiences, I drove an hour and a half to their Newark shop expecting them to stand behind the lifetime warranty they advertised on their carbon tint. I arrived with the original invoice that THEIR company emailed to me in 2021. Instead of honoring their warranty, the new owner accused me of forging my receipt because it listed the Newark address. Apparently, in his mind, an emailed invoice generated by his own company was somehow fake. I repeatedly asked how I could possibly forge an email that was sent directly to me by Pro-Tinting, but rather than offering any logical explanation, he simply dismissed everything I said. To make matters worse, the owner communicated almost entirely through what appeared to be a high school-aged boy acting as a translator. Trying to resolve a warranty issue through a teenager while being accused of fraud was both unprofessional and insulting. Their solution? They refused to honor the lifetime warranty and then offered to "discount" the repair by $20, leaving me to pay $80. After driving three hours round-trip and being falsely accused of forging my own invoice, that offer was laughable. A warranty is only as good as the company willing to honor it. Based on my experience, Pro-Tinting's "lifetime warranty" meant absolutely nothing. They lost a customer who had trusted them with five vehicles, and they'll never get another dollar from me. Save yourself the time, the money, and the frustration. There are plenty of tint shops that actually stand behind their work and treat customers with respect. read more

Absolutely unacceptable experience. I would give zero stars if I could. I brought my vehicle to Pro Tinting in Elizabeth, NJ, and when I got it back, I discovered multiple items had been stolen. Whether or not the items were considered "valuable" is irrelevant -- stealing is stealing. I never received a receipt or confirmation of services, and the lack of professionalism was clear from the start. This is beyond disrespectful and completely untrustworthy behavior. This place is very professional & they work with a quickness. I had my tint appointment on a Saturday & spent no more than an hour tops there. The location was a bit difficult to get into being that there is a car wash right next door & the vehicles from that establishment took up space for me to reach the business. However, once I arrived I was greeted politely and they began the work right away. I was instructed on tint aftercare when I arrived & right before I left. Not to mention, they also put warning stickers on all of my buttons as a reminder to NOT roll my windows down. I got carbon tints on my vehicle & they look amazing. Love this place. Just got my windows tinted. The staff was very friendly and informative. They explained to me the difference between the 2 types of tints they had and showed me a sample of how the different materials are. Standard tints are $100 plus tax, the other tints are about $60 more plus it was 10% off so with tax it came to $173, it also has warranty on it. I got 35% in the front and 20% in the back. I wanted something that wont make it as easy to get pulled over lol. I dropped my car off and picked it up about 2 hrs later. This place also does radios, rims, car starters, everything! This is my go-to location for tinting my vehicle. They do an amazing job and their prices are very reasonable with lifetime warranty included. To get all all your windows tinted except the windshield costs $100 plus tax, for the visor it's an additional $25 but well worth it, it takes about an hour and a half to get the work done. You have the options from 5%, 20%, 35% and 50% , the lower the number the darker the tints. Besides tints they also do remote start, HID headlights installation, Halos, speaker system and GPS. Everything is pretty affordable here. Staff is very nice as well and answer all your questions. Upstairs has a second floor where you'll find the waiting room with couches, magazines, and a TV to keep you occupied. Definitely make an appointment they are very busy. They have 2 locations one in Newark and the other in Elizabeth New Jersey. FYI- it's illegal in New Jersey to have your front windows tinted, trust me I know, its a $50 fine, so tint at your own risk. read more

Well, as a professional yelppie 'like me' lol I always do my research before I try anything, specially something for my car Surprisingly I didn't find any review on this place, but the google reviews are very good, so I thought I will give them a tried First of all, location If you not familiar with the area, you input the address in on the GPS, you in the area and you will drive pass before you even know it, because the shop facing a busy street highway, and cars are flying by But if you see the grocery store on the right hand side like you coming from downtown Newark, you are in the right place, is only 2 stores behind the grocery store I went there on Saturday, no appointment, man...that's a bad mistake, they stay busy and Saturday is one of their busiest day, so make sure you call first and make an appointment I went there, checked around the place, and....of course they can't get me in, so I have to make an appointment and go back the next Saturday The following Saturday, I pulled up and I drove my car inside, which not suppose to, I suppose to park at the front and have them drive it inside, but they forgot to put the sign up, so I just drove it in. lol Is all good, no big deal I parked my car inside and I walked into their office, told the guy I have an appointment, and he have no problem finding my reservation, he took my keys and told me if I like, they have a small waiting area upstairs, which have tv and some magazines The wait he told me will be approx an hour to an hour and the half. While I was upstairs, I heard he was talking to other customers, very helpful, very friendly guy, and even people walked in asking for something that they don't do, he will tell them I can recommend someone for you, I thought that was very nice of him. After about an hour, I went down stairs and checked out my car, loooooking good, the 5% window After another about 20 minutes, the job is done, and the car looking really good I carefully looked over the windows, I saw some small bubbles on the side of the passengers window, but he told me those will go away when it dry. Is been almost a week now, and the car windows looks good.... Took my brand new 8 day old 2012 car in for tints after only having it for 8 days and they did a decent job on the tints but they scratched my windshield and tried to say it wasn't them and their blades don't scratch windows because they're too thin. Um, how does a blade not scratch? It obviously does because the proof is on my car! They told me they didn't do it and said there wasn't anything they were going to do for me. They do bad business and do not treat the customers well here. Also, they show they accept credit cards but they don't. They only accept cash and now I know why, because when they mess up they already have your money and that's hot they get you! Don't go here. They're inexpensive for this reason. After my last car got totaled, I was meaning to get my new car tinted but I didn't know where to go. So after I moved to Newark a few months ago I heard of this place from a friend of mine and I gave it a shot... I had an appointment for full tinting, came in, and after about an hour of waiting in their upstairs lounge area my windows were done. Really dark and good quality. Even got a warranty, all for under $200. The staff is great and very helpful and friendly. The funny thing is, I had my tints done 4 days ago and right now I'm sitting in this awesome restaurant, Casa d'Paco on Warwick and I'm still in awe of the job they did. THAT's how GOOD the tints are. That I'm still thinking about them 4 days later while eating a delicious bitoqué slider and enjoying some summertime sangria! Amateur job. Tint was not evenly cut. Lots of bubbles. The back windshield came out the worst. Looks like it was rushed. Heard someone reving my car unreasonably in the waiting room. To top it off my speaker was blown and nobody seems to care. They said the speaker is not paper material and not their fault. Makes no sense. They wont take responsibility for their actions. There's a reason it's cash only.. Had a bad experience. I do not recommend this place at all, don't cheap out. Pay more and get it done right. read more

Was told when I did my other car 2 weeks ago I would receive a discount for my second car. Showed up today and was told I could only get the discount from the girl that told me that and she's not working today so you can't get a discount. Ummm wtf? How am I supposed to know their employee schedule? The original girl told me to show my e mail receipt and the discount would be applied. The girl working today tells me, sorry that's not true. Guy was smoking while putting the tints. Mediocre job, bubbles and not very thorough with getting the tint evenly applied,and to think that my car was the only thing they needed to tint that morning. I will definitely take it back and this time watch them like a hawk while putting the tint on. Don't get tints here go somewhere and spend a bit more...an extra 30 to 40 bucks is worth all this hassle and crappy work no need to come back again if they do it right the first time. Horrible experience. STAY AWAY I arrived at my scheduled appointment time and no one was there! I waited for over 25 minutes for someone to even show up and open the door. At which point they spoke barely any English and had the nerve to ask me if I spoke their language?! They had no idea what I was talking about, the man was handing me a business card that wasn't even pro tintings card, it seemed like he was trying to get me to use him on the side instead of pro tint? He said he would do it for $150 instead of $180(Carbon) He had no idea about my appointment even after I showed him the text message confirming it(language barrier). After about about her 20 minutes trying to figure out hat the heck was going on they finally started tinting. He told me to wait in a room till he got finished. I walked into the shop to see what was going on and it reeked of marijuana, the employees were definitely partaking. After the job was done they left a ton or trash in my car(tint scraps). Left glue on my wonder at which point they couldn't remove and told me I had to do it. My car was also extremely dirty after the tint job, inside and out. And there is bubbling on my front windows. This review is back from November when they had a Black Friday Sale but the complaints of not holding appointments are very true!!!I called and made a appointment and had to cancel it due to personal issues,I spoke with a lady who supposedly dialed me in for Satuday 11/25 at 11 A.M and I live 45 minutes away.I drive there and greeted by a dude with a computer and I told him I had a Apointment.He looks at me and says "No you don't, I don't see your name or car,look at the computer".There was 1 person there and you have a customer who wants to get tinted and you can't even try to make room to get me in??I just left and called another Shop and he said to come over.I was tinted there,no notice and was treated like I should of been and got a top quality install.Beware,they have seriously need to get there shit together!! read more

These guys are the best. This is my fourth car getting tinted with these guys and I can't say enough good things about them. They are fast and responsive to my needs. I had a very slight issue with my last car where there was light small bubbles in one of the windows. They took me in immediately and remedied the matter instantly. Never had an issue again. Why take an appointment if you have no intention of opening during that time. I called several times while waiting and it just rang and went to voicemail. I left a message and no response. ****PLEASE TAKE THE TIME TO READ THIS AND SAVE YOURSELF THE AGGRAVATION**** This may turn out to be long but worth the read! It is Sunday, June 30th 2013. I just got back home from the establishment it is 5:42pm and my appointment was at 2:00 pm. I had started researching window tinting places about a week ago. I had called and spoke to Angel- very nice on the phone. Yesterday, I called and spoke with Chris, he too was very pleasant and knowledgeable. I should of second guessed it when Chris said that they had an open schedule for today from 9am to 3 pm but i looked past the reviews i had read and.....just went with it and made an appointment for today at 2:00 pm for TWO vehicles to get tint done. My boyfriend and I both arrived at 2:07 pm quickly decided on the tint % with JOSH and they took his car right in for a quick driver and passenger window tint job. I had noticed a big sign "CASH ONLY" i explained to Josh that i would need to go to the ATM. His response: Wait for his car to be done it will take about 20 minutes then we will start on your car and you can use his car to go to the bank. Sounds great right?? The temperature today read 85 in my car and what feels like 150% humidity outside so there was no way that we could of comfortably sat and waited upstairs in their "waiting room" for 20 minutes. We lasted about 10 minutes, with NO A.C. in the place. As the sweat started pouring down our faces we made our way back downstairs and outside. We were more comfortable waiting outside in the rain than upstairs. As we came down the stairs i did notice a young couple trying to decide on their tint %. Shortly after my boyfriends car emerged from the back of the garage. We were excited for many reasons but mostly because we now have access to A.C. At This point, Josh took my number he would call me when my car was done "About an hour" and off to the bank we went. I know the streets of Newark very well so we managed to make it to the ATM and back with 15 minutes and just figured we would patiently wait in the car until he called. I felt bad for the young couple they had decided to wait out in the rain as well. To help pass the time along i walked over to the neighboring liquor store and purchased some scratch offs for fun. After all.....ya never know. It is now roughly 4:00 pm as i happen to notice the young couple pull off in their car. I asked my bf how are they done before us if they came after us? I walked in and asked the guy behind the counter if my car was almost done? He checks, comes back and says "They have not started it yet" How is this possible? Josh told me it would be about an hour, almost an hour ago. Guy says "I don't know". I return to the car to give my bf the update and call 973-991-7110 the same number as dialed when i made the appointment. Josh answers to tell me "It is almost done" yet he is out of the building on his lunch break. Soooo....The main number is his cell phone #? If this guy that does not work there just told me they did not start on it yet, why is Josh telling me something else?? I let Josh know at this time that "that guy" that was nice enough to check for me says they have not started yet. Josh now proceeds to tell me "they just cleaned it i will be back in 10 minutes". In my mind im like WTF?? cleaned what?? It is a BRAND NEW CAR!! We continued to wait....and wait......at this point what is the alternative!! As Josh pulled up to the building i exit my bf's car to ask him "What is going on"? He brushes me off and keeps walking to the back of the garage where i can see my car being worked on and he is laughing with the guy tinting my windows. Why is he not coming to talk to me? Why is he back there laughing with that other guy? About 15 minutes later he FINALLY comes to talk to me, says "it's almost done". It is now after 4:30.... What happened Josh? The people that came after me left before me how is that possible? He says....they had an appointment but they were late. I'm thinking ok....and....well they had an appointment before you so they went before you. I say i had an appointment at 2:00 for two cars we were here on time! Josh thinks it's funny to start debating with me at this time. i was beside myself....why is he laughing?? Most places make you wait 3 hours he says. i'm thinking i was here at 2pm it is almost 5pm simple math equation, Hmmmmm.....yup, thats about 3 hours. The icing on the cake for me was when Josh says " Do you want him to stop"?with a smile on his face. I may have paused at this moment ARE YOU SERIOUS?? Do i want him to stop tinting my windows half way through, OMG!!!! Who would say yes? Ugggghhhhh get me the hell out of here. I quickly realized i was dealing with a child and had nothing else to say. So when he asked "do you want to pay now or after it is done"? I said after What a waste of time..$100.00 for 3 hours of aggravation. As for the windows good job or not.....TO BE DETERMINED!! read more

My experience with Pro Tinting was excellent, i had my car tinted with them back in 2011 and they are still looking flawless, that is the difference in real quality products. At the time I went to their shop, they offered me 3 types of films, i choose the more expensive because i wanted the best one, some people don't understand the value and the quality of the products so they usually go with cheaper choice. Does not honor warranty. Contract clearly says lifetime warranty. I got my windows tinted 2011. I know 5 others who got their cars tinted with no issues. The back window starting getting some small bubbles the past year. When I called about the life time warranty. I was told they dont buy tint from that vendor any more and they wont honor the lifetime warranty and now they want me to pay about the same price to remove the back tint and reapply with a different brand, with lifetime warranty. I did get a few years with the tint which I am happy, but if you are putting lifetime warranty with not factoring conditions on the receipt, it should be honored otherwise don't mention it. How can I trust the new life time warranty? Overall I am very disappointed with my after experience. read more

Pro tinting took care of my old car 5 years ago and I was very happy with the service and quality provided. I recently purchased a new vehicle and decided I'd give them a call for an appointment. Made an appointment for today at 12 noon and was promised my car would be serviced at that time. I arrived at 12 to find out a WALK IN was being serviced and I waited 25 min before leaving because I had to go to work. I expressed my disappointment to the woman at the front desk and I got nothing but an attitude from her. I traveled 40 min from Garfield for nothing. I'll never return, especially when there are several other tinting services in the area. I will never recommend this place to anyone. This place could really care less about unhappy customers being that it's been 2 weeks and no one has reached out...you don't deserve to be in business. read more

I will never go back here or reccommend this place to anyone other than an enemy. I made a 930AM appointment. When I showed up at 930 I was told I wouldn't be seen until 1030-11. So I see no reason for this place to be appointment only. I found this strange because I was the only person in the building so I didnt understand why they couldn't fulfill their appointment or at least call me to reschedule. Secondly, when I returned at 10:15 I was told the job will take an hour. After noticing it was 11:45 and no one said anything I went downstairs to ask how much longer it will be. I was told he was just doing the back window and it should be another 15 mins. At 12:37PM I went downstairs again and I was told he is cleaning the windows so it will be another 15 mins. I demanded for them to give me my car as is. The work that was done is good but the level of unprofessionalizm takes all of that away. They DO NOT value your time at all. Where should I start...the place does not look professional by any means.Staff are rude and disrespectful.I got my cars front and my husbands car all around done.First the tints looked greasy...looked like somebody was trying to clean them with oil or something.When I mentioned that I was told it will clear up,it needs to dry out.I had windows tinted before and never ran into that problem but I gave them the benefit of the doubt.Also they left the cars dirty ,inside and out.A week went by and the windows were the same.I called and make an appointment to replace them which they said they would.The same material was put on and had the same issue with it.Its dangerous to drive the cars because it looks blurry when I look through the windows.The so called manager stated that's how it is and there are no refunds.When I asked to speak with owner ,she called and spoke to him in front of me ( of course in their language which I'm sorry but I don't understand nor I want to...it should have been in ENGLISH) and after 2-3 minutes of talking with him she said he can't talk now because he is driving.I guess he just can't speak English when he is driving.We were sent away and told that there is nothing they can do for us!!!Horrible customer service and terrible quality of materials and work!!!I support small businesses but this place should be SHUT DOWN!!! read more

If I could give this review a zero, I would. This place was horrible. I tried to save a few bucks by getting my tail-lights tinted here, rather than going to better tint shops, and it was a big mistake. First, I don't like how they make you wait in the lobby so you can't even see the work they're doing. What are they hiding? If you're proud of your craft, let people see. Sheesh, even surgeons sometimes let others watch the procedure. Second, the tail light tints began to bubble a few days later. There are actually several bubbles in the tint. These people do not tint the proper way. You need to clay bar, tack cloth, hit it with some dust remover tape and then tint slowly and evenly with a heat gun. I could have probably done a better tint job with my friend. In addition, this guy used old cut up tint to tint my rear reflector light. There was about a dime size chunk of material missing from his tint piece so instead of getting a fresh, new piece of tint film, he cut a jagged circle and placed it on top of the missing material section. WTF kind of crap is that?! Is it that difficult to cut a brand new 4in by 4in piece of tint film?! Also, he cut into my paintwork when trimming down the 3rd brake light film and didn't even cover the light completely! On top of that, I was told that the receipt will be emailed to me and it never was emailed to me after 3x calling this incompetent "secretary". This place is HORRIBLE.
