All in all, it was going to be a four-digit day most likely. The short version is: they knew my expectations, and still were up front and honest. Rotated my tires, said I was good there for at least 10,000 more miles. Changed the oil, and said i did not need new brake pads. I was totally prepared for my day to be ruined with an expensive maintenance visit. Instead, I have renewed faith in humanity. (ok, a bit dramatic...but still...). I was then billed for 3k, which I felt was too much for the service I was requesting. So doing my own research I realized that they were at least charging 40% more the what the job should have been. Which is where Trinity Mobile Mechanics came in! Real life superheros. Setting up an appointment and getting a quote with them was super easy. The owner knew exactly what he was doing. After doing his own diagnostics, he had the integrity to call me and let me know what the real issue was and that I definitely didn't have to pay what the other shop was trying to get from me. All and all the job was done same day for a real reasonable price. I recommend Trinity any day of the week. And I will be taking my car here for now on. Real good businesses don't get enough credit. After agreeing on a rate of $125/hr the final bill states $169/hr which created about $1000 profit. Irresponsible comes from leaving my car smelling like shop oil/grease. When I went outside after the service, I immediately noticed a lug nut was missing. After looking closer, I saw that the wheel stud itself was broken - which I know for a fact was not damaged prior to the repair. When I contacted the mechanic about it, he did not deny breaking it and asked me to go purchase a new stud and lug nut, which I did right away. He said he would return to install it, but after that point communication became very unreliable. I texted several times with no response. When he finally replied "yes" to confirm he would complete the repair, he still never followed through. Since then, my messages have gone unanswered. On top of that, he told me the broken stud was "no big deal" and that he knows someone who drives around with multiple broken studs - which was extremely concerning to hear from someone responsible for vehicle safety. I don't feel comfortable driving with a broken wheel stud, and the situation has been left unresolved. I wish this could have been a positive review, but based on the lack of accountability, poor communication, and safety concerns, it cannot be.
