Used this company to sweep my chimney, John Alonso and his helper were great! Showed up on time, did their job, thanked me for my time and business. No hassle, fast, easy, reliable service. Now I need my air ducts cleaned, of course I'm going to call Pro-Tech again! read more

After 25 years I decided to have my chimney swept and repair the cracked panel. After watching a video on how to do it yourself, I decided it was too much of a challenge and called a professional. John & Shawn showed up on time, had all the necessary tools and ladders, swept my chimney, replaced my cracked panel and screen and provided a new cap, Cleaned up the fireplace like new. Very friendly and professional. If you need fireplace repairs in So Calif, Pro Tech is the one to call. read more

Thought cleaning and inspecting our 40 year old fireplace would be messy and expensive. Was surprised and delighted to have found Protech. John and his assistant came out same day due to a cancellation and fixed everything, including our dryer vent and chimney covers all in a professional manner at very reasonable cost. They were obviously very experienced and knowledgeable. They even helped out when they saw me trying to lift something too heavy and offered to help! On top of being extremely professional they were just nice, honest, and helpful guys! So refreshing! read more

These guys are great. I found them online and they showed up on time, charged a reasonable price, did a great job (didn't leave a mess, didn't break any furniture, respected my home). I had a fire last night after they cleaned up and the ventilation problems were all fixed. So glad to have my fireplace working again. I highly recommend this company, you won't be disappointed. read more

I highly recommend! So glad I found them on Yelp. The owner, John, arrived on time. He and his assistant, Sean, spent approx 4 hours getting my chimney up to speed without taking a break. Good clean up. I got 3 other bids and he was not the lowest bid, but his price was very competitive. I ultimately hired him because I liked the fact that he does the work himself, has a no nonsense attitude, seasoned, down to earth, not pushy, reasonably priced. Now I have a repaired chimney crown, finally a cap and spark arrestor, a gas bar and repaired smoke chamber. I can use my chimney with peace of mind. John is a hard worker! I liked Peggy in the office too...sweet. This is the way I like doing business! read more

Had them out to clean our chimney, and while they did a good job and the price was reasonable, my credit card got hacked from using them! They use the app Square to swipe your credit card on an iPad. I haven't used this app with anyone else, and started getting fraudulent charges through Square two weeks later. Obviously had to cancel my credit card, and called to let them know that either one of their guys had lifted my credit card number or their system had been compromised. They let me know they had been hacked "again." Apparently this happened last year as well. So they do a decent job for a decent price, but it's really not worth the hassle of having to do back charges, cancel your credit card and wait for a new one to come through because they can't figure out system integrity for accepting payment. For anyone else reading this, I had my chimney cleaned on August 18th, 2020, so if you've used them since then, definitely start checking your credit card statements. read more

I left a message on late Saturday and was called back first thing Monday morning. They were able to get out to my house Monday afternoon. John and crew were very friendly. They replaced my chimney cap (which was ripped off in the last big windstorm) in a very short amount of time and at a reasonable price. I appreciate their quickness, professionalism, and friendliness. I would recommend them in a second. Thank you!!! read more

John was great. He was on time, friendly and quick. We've lived here 18 years and have never cleaned the chimney and I have no idea before that how long it had been (he said it was dirty). read more

Our home inspector, when we bought our house, made us very nervous about using our fireplace until it was officially inspected by a fireplace professional. My husband contacted Pro-Tech, who came out to do the inspection (they have all the special qualifications to do so). They were nice, efficient, and professional. Our house is old, and we didn't want anything to catch on fire the first time we started the fireplace. They assured me that everything looked great, and since we had a gas log, that we didn't need to worry about things catching on fire. They did tell me things to watch out for, and even taught me how to actually turn the gas log on and off. They didn't try to upsell me any products. I asked them about adding a spark arrestor to the top of the chimney, and they said they could install it for me or they told me how to buy it myself. I appreciated their honesty, and I didn't want my husband to fall off the roof (we're not handy people), so I asked them to go ahead and install it. It looks great, and the installation was fast and reasonably priced. I appreciate their expertise. read more

These guys were great, came out and serviced our fireplace, from the ground up, and it now looks amazing!! They are also fairly priced.

Prompt and courteous service. I was very happy with the stainless steel spark arrestor. Thank you!

These guys were amazing! After two failed attempts by two other companies, they quickly found the issue with my dryer vent and resolved it at a fair price. I highly recommend them. read more

Great and efficient experience! John set up an appointment, was on time and installed the chimney cap in minutes. Looks great and will keep us safe. Thank you! read more

I previously reviewed John's work in January of 2014. This time we called him about a leaking chimney on another house. Every time it rained we'd hear an annoying and worrying drip, drip drip. On this house, the roof is very steep, and the chimney really high, well above two stories. John climbed up there, managed to disassemble a complicated and very heavy chimney cap, find the leak and fix it. He is both courageous and skilled. He saved the day. John's partner installed a fire glass gas set up and helped out while John worked the leak. John exemplifies the best in the skilled service industries. I'll call him again with any fireplace or air duct issue without hesitation. Thanks again, John. read more

Very professional. Did excellent work for a fair price. They do not charge to come out and provide an estimate... as some companies do. Pride in their work. Highly recommend this family run company! read more

I used Pro-Tech to replace the chimney cap and perform a cleaning. They arrived on time and completed the work in a timely manner. They cleaned up beautifully. They recommended a minor repair for which they came back later to complete. Their prices were very reasonable. It too was done professionally. I would definitely use them for any chimney jobs. read more

I had a leaking chimney where water would drip down the wall on the inside of the house down onto the mantle whenever it rained. I had two other companies come out over the course of a couple of years and "fix" the problem. (not a lot of rain here!) But it continued to leak when it rained. I had Pro-Tech come out and they fixed the problem. This was in November 2015. I wanted to wait until after a few rains to see if it was really fixed. So far so good! It has rained several times since then and I have not had any leaking into the wall. I hope this continues, it's nice to not have a wet wall and mantle. I will definitely call them when I need chimney cleaning or repair in the future. Thank you! read more

What an amazing company! We have a duplex with wood burning fireplaces in each unit. We contacted Pro-Tech to clean the chimneys and convert the wood burning fireplaces to fireglass. We had some other issues with our chimney cap and flues that they fixed in a jiffy! They were meticulous in their work - the fireplaces with the fireglass work beautifully and look amazing!! So clean and beautiful. Our flue works like new and the chimney cap and smoke guards they put in work like a charm. Price for all their work was incredibly reasonable. They were meticulously clean - you couldn't tell we'd had all that gritty fireplace work done. We are thrilled we contacted John and John @Pro-Tech - what a team A+++++++++!!!!! read more

Let me just say that I love you Pro Tech! I was in dire need of a good chimney service and After being ignored and basically put on a wait list by 3 Bears Chimney, I went to yelp for the help an thank the Lord Jesus I found it! Not only was Pro Tech there on time, but they were so fast an diligent to clean out my horrific chimney with such ease & professionalism. On top of that I had mentioned to them my house was so cold the heater & water heater weren't working, so I was ecstatic to have my fire place to warm us up. The service technician asked where the water heater & central heater were located, and took it upon himself to educate me on how to work them, & how to turn them on! I found out that I actually do need a new water heater, and he was able to turn on my central heat with no hassle! Now my home will be nice & warm for my family of 4! I am so grateful that we have these type of service technicians that are ready & willing to lend a hand even if they didn't have to! Good deeds don't just happen on Fridays, they happen on an ordinary Tuesday too!! Brave Pro Tech, you guys are amazing! read more

They were extremely professional, arrived on time, and were able to clean and inspect our chimney. They were even able to look at the gas line that goes to our fireplace, and retrofit a pipeline so that we can now use the fireplace as a gas fireplace or as wood-burning. The best part of their service is that they are meticulous about keeping the area around the chimney and fireplace cleaner than when they arrived - you would never know that there was someone doing extremely dirty work in the fireplace, even though everything around it in our home is white. read more

Chose Pro-Tech to take care of our chimney issues based on Yelp reviews. They did not disappoint. Initial phone call was answered by a real person and an appointment was set up immediately.
