I got a pedicure with my friend who is a regular. She got a mani, pedi and neck massage. I just had a pedicure which was all I needed. The technician did a good job, the polish is neat and I opted for the callous remover as I work barefoot. It was fine, I have no complaints except they stuck me in the back in the skinniest part of the shop and I am 5' 11" . I was not very comfortable because my chair was against the wall in order to allow the manicurist enough room. Otherwise it was fine and for $17 I can't complain. read more

Came here yesterday (without an appointment) and they were able to get me in for a manicure almost immediately. They were swamped because of the holiday but made it work, which I really appreciated because my nails looked terrible. The woman who worked on me was super friendly and did an amazing job on my nails. The only problem is that you can't tip on a credit card payment so make sure you bring some cash with you to tip. Used to go to posh down the street. They always did a good job but raised their gel prices too high. Randomly popped in to this salon after work and was very happy. $10 cheaper than posh for gels. I get Paul and T and love them both! No pedi chairs, they use buckets instead. read more

If you're looking for the sort of place that has the fancy massage chairs and foot spas, then you should probably go across the street to Happy Nails. BUT, if you're more concerned about the final result and friendly manicurists, then this is a fine nail shop. I've gone here since High School, and even though I don't live in the area anymore, when I come and visit I still come back here. Their prices are very reasonable and I've always left happy. I am going to knock off a star because they A.) Act like a car-salesmen and try and sell you on creams and lotions and rhinestones and do-dads during your mani-pedi, and B.) As others have said, it's not fancy. If you are looking for the spa chairs (which btw are highly unsanitary), this is not the place. However, I have been getting my nails done at this salon for about 10 years and would never go anywhere else. DP locals know not to fall for the fancy look of other salons -- it's about the quality of the product here. I cannot count how many compliments I get on my nails -- and my mani/pedi consistently lasts three weeks! The aestheticians are perfectionists and take great pride in their work. I have seen them redo a nail or two that I thought looked fine because they were not satisfied with the outcome. Not to mention the convenience of being able to get nails, waxing and even a quick massage all in one place in about an hour -- you can't beat it! The shop is very well run. Someone said something about the manager...yes, he does keep an eye on everything that goes on in the shop because he cares about the business he is running. He knows all the regular customers and their preferences. When I call, at the sound of my voice, he knows what services I usually get and which technicians I prefer. He gives me advance notice when someone I like is going to be on vacation -- great customer service! read more

Came here on a Saturday morning, it was busy but there was no wait. They have so many gel colors, glitter, confetti ect. Ones I haven't seen at any other salon. Will def go back. Just be aware, it's better to have cash for a tip. read more

I have been coming to Pro Nails for 18 years and I am a happy customer. I even moved and tried other local salons but still drive 20 minutes each way to get my mani/pedi here. My manicures stay for 10+ days (without gel) and the girls are super friendly to me and to give me the hard up-sell. They recently got new spa chairs (and they put a plastic liner in basin) so now a mani/pedi is $28, but still very reasonable. read more

I've been coming here for almost 10 years. They are always nice and give a good service. Polish lasts a long time for me. I loved this place before the upgrade and now I love it even more. Prices even stayed the same after the remodel, and they've added new services. They offer water bottles which is a nice touch. I came here for the first time to get a manicure and pedicure and it was by far the worst nail salon I have ever been too. For starters i simply told them all I wanted was a manicure and pedicure with regular polish (since I was new I didn't know pricing) and they charged me $50 (which was way above the actual amount of $30 which it was suppose to cost). The ladies who did my nails couldn't remotely speak English either so we just communicated through random nods so I didn't know what I was agreeing to. Then she uses the same water my feet were in to rinse my arms? EXTREMELY unsanitary. I was basically getting my legs and arms drenched w the water my feet were soaked in. Then the girl next to me starts getting her nails done by the male worker. The male worker clips her nails and is SO INCONSIDERATE as to realize he was getting her DEAD NAILS all over me and on my lap. I was getting the nail clippings of the girl next to me all over my face and lap, so naturally I decided I should leave right away and did not give my nails (apparently the 20min they need to dry?). So when I left immediately my nail smudged and they made it a hassle to fix that one nail. I felt extremely ripped off and treated poorly here. Also once finishing with a customer they immediately move to the next without cleaning their supplies so it was just disgustingly unsanitary over all. NEVER GOING BACK!! read more

Horrible!!! Don't waste your time or money! I asked for a gel manicure green with gold. At the end of the manicure she smudged the polish with cotton and insisted that I did it when I put my hand in the uv light. No the polish wasn't dry she did it then she tried to blame the polish, when she redid it she said "I don't like it, pick a different color". So bottom line I didn't get what I asked for and my manicure still looks terrible cuz she smudged it again. Absolutely terrible!!! NEVER AGAIN!!! read more

Decided to check this place out with my 2 daughters 7 & 10. Someone knocked hot pink nail polish off the chair splattered everywhere...employees scattered to clean off the "tile," as my poor birks sat waiting to be cleaned! I had to let them know there was polish all over my shoes, lady came over to clean them...I couldn't relax because I could still see hot pink polish on my black birks! As I was getting ready to get up I had asked for something to clean my shoes being that polish was still very visible, cleaned my shoes and to say the least will not be going back! My two little girls said one of the manicurist kept slapping her hand and they were mean...I didn't see myself however I probably would of went ballistic, they did not have a pleasant experience nor did I! I also would think they would offer some sort of apology like not paying for my services.....nope paid for everything, needless to say poor customer service! If I could give zero stars I would! Came here with my two little girls to get mani pedis. No appointment made so of course they would tell me they could get US in "right away". They start with my mani/pedi, never even get to any of my daughters, end up taking over an hour to do just my nails. Not only did they completely mix match my nail color and pedi color (tried to correct them and they didn't even have the matching color) but my mani looked awful! The shape looked terrible, they didn't put enough coats so you could see through my nail in some parts, and they have tons of tiny imprints all over them. They rushed and to top it off they didn't even acknowledge my daughters until I was done after I told my daughters I would take them elsewhere. I've been here before and it's been hit or miss. They used to have buckets for pedis but as of today I noticed new pedi chairs. But don't let the new look fool you - the prices are lower than others in the area but you definitely get what you pay for! They should probably put money toward quality nail techs, or possibly hire more people since they are "so busy". I would also note that they do not have a good selection of polishes....especially good name brand polishes such as OPI and Essie. I can hardly ever find a gel nail color to match a regular polish for my toes. I noticed a lot of customers bring their own polish in and now I know why. I have given this place many tries - mostly because it is very close to where I live. After today I will never return to this salon again. read more

Here is the deal with this place. Unless you are lucky to get one of the two good manicurists here you are screwed. I had a manicure 3 days ago and it started chipping and bubbling within 1 hour. I went back the next day and said this much. Another girl redid the bad nails( would not do a full color change) and right away same deal! They are just not good at what they are supposed to do. I just moved to Dana Point and was in desperate need of a new salon. I walked in to Pro Nails on a busy Sunday without an appointment and was helped immediately. I needed a gel fill and pedicure. (This place has the most gel options I have ever seen at a salon.) Anyway, I ended up going with the Luxury Pedicure (middle option) and hands down, this was the best pedicure I have ever had. It started with an orange exfoliating scrub for at least ten minutes and was followed by a clay mask, my legs were then wrapped in warm towels, and a ten minute massage with oils and lotion. At this point, I was in heaven and thought she would be done, but no! She brought out heated stones and proceeded to massage my legs and feet even more. No lie, the pedicure lasted as long as the entire fill-something I have never experienced before. The fill was also fantastic! Easily the thinnest and most natural my acrylics have ever looked. I will absolutely be a regular. I'm so happy I stumbled upon this place! Side note-be sure you have cash on you for the tip. read more

I came here to use a gift card i have had since 2014!! I have not had a mani or pedi in yrs!!! The woman who did my pedi was funny and engaging. The woman who did my mani was quiet and clearly not happy to be there. Although the nails on my hands aren't long, it was obvious I prefer them rounded at tips. She squared them all. Yuck! Horrible experience. The customer service is a negative number in my opinion. It was obvious they were speaking about me and it was straight out RUDE! I went in for a mani/pedi. Had to ask someone if I can soak my feet since my manicure was completed in 6 minutes. They guy basically ripped my cuticles off without letting them soak long enough. He also kept telling me my nails were too short to paint, even though I DIDN'T WANT THEM PAINTED! Now once I got the foot tub on the water became so hot it burned the top of my feet. And of course no one around to lower the temp. Once my pedi was in action I had to ask her to scrub my feet & trim my nails. These would have NOT been preformed if I didnt say something. She then paints my nails without any separators in between my toes. Ive chosen a red so you know thats messy. Then once painted starts to immediately place my shoes back on. Which of course ruined 3 of my nails. Her eye rolling and entire attitude was insulting. I was so fumed and angry I needed to just leave. I would pay the extra $2 and go to Happy Nails in the next shopping center over. These people are rude, unprofessional, cut corners and want you money as opposed to a long time customer. I've never been before today but went to get a gel manicure since I was local. After an hour and a half and three gel coats later, I am told the color does not stick and this had happened before with this color. I would have loved to know this was a 'bad choice' before the manicure. The manicurist then proceeds to remove the color and suggests choosing another one but i had no time to stay another half hour. I said I don't have time and she tells me It's wasting her time too. Unprofessional. My nails look worse than when I came in. She also had the audacity to make me pay for a manicure. read more

Wow! I am shocked at reading the above reviews. I love this place and have been coming for over 2 years. They are a no frills, get the job done, type of place. The technicians are friendly and upbeat and work hard to please their customers. The manager is not the friendly, warm and fuzzy type, but he is efficient and works hard to get you what you want in a timely manner. I don't think he is hovering (like a previous review said). I think he is constantly watching to make sure everyone is happy. He is nice to his employees, so they are happy and most have been there many years. It is always upbeat and a lot of laughter in the room. It is true, there are no spa pedicures. They use the tubs with plastic bags in them, which of course they change for each customer. I prefer that to the spa type which harbor bacteria. I especially love the massages in the back room which, again no frills, but works for me which are $1 a minute. Today I was in and out in a little over an hour, had a manicure and pedicure (simultaneously) and a 30 minute massage (all are good but I like Lisa), all for $55 plus tip. Once again, I emphasize, this is a no frills type of place. But I love it and they work hard to please their customers and get the job done! Perfect for me! read more
