It ended up being a stripped bolt on the front left sway bar link that attached to the subframe. I am impressed with their attention to detail on this, and I appreciate that they really wanted to get it resolved. They also didn't charge me for any of the work, which included a brake flush to fix the brake issue I noticed after the first repair. I highly recommend them, and I think it says a lot about a business when they own a mistake and fix it. Thanks guys!

I had driven from Pittsburgh to Durham for a job interview; on the day of my interview, something went terribly wrong with my car brakes, and while I managed to coast the car back from the interview to my motel, I knew I wouldn't be able to drive the 8+ hours back to Pittsburgh the next day. I found Tri-City on Yelp and sent them an email, but it was after 5:30p and I was worried I wouldn't get a response. Much to my (pleasant) surprise, Rhonda responded right away and said they would be happy to get me in to check out my car first thing the next morning. I brought my CR-V in first thing, and as promised, they immediately took my car back, gave it a thorough inspection, provided me with a (reasonable) quote for the work, and managed to get me back on the road by 10:45a. I've had other situations where my car has needed emergency repairs while I'm traveling, and have been completely taken advantage of (financially, with overpriced repairs, and mechanically, with "patch" jobs that didn't repair the problems). I had the complete opposite experience at Tri-City. Good work, friendly service, reasonable prices. Rhonda herself made a point of coming up to me in the waiting room to make sure everything was going well. She is a delightful woman, and it is clear that she and her husband take extreme (and well-deserved!) pride in their service. The waiting room couldn't have been more comfortable: comfy chairs, TV, bottled water, snacks, K-cup coffee, a clean restroom, even a place for kids to play -- everything one could want to make the painful process of car repairs (hey, let's be honest!) as pleasant as possible.

They charged me $773 for faulty work based on a diagnostic they never properly performed. I was told my Q3 Audi needed a thermostat--only to later learn it didn't. The part was ordered incorrectly three times, delaying repairs. I was then told by Jennifer McCormick, I should be grateful she did not charge me for their mistake because it cost them money. My car was initially promised back the same day but wasn't returned for two days. The day after pickup, my car wouldn't start, I was able to get a battery jump, to make it to Jiffy Lube (less than 1 mile away) for a battery replacement. Within minutes the dashboard lights lit up, smoke billowed from under the hood and fluid poured from the bottom of the car. Jiffy Lube discovered the intake hose hadn't been properly reconnected--posing serious safety risks to me and others as I was about to travel out of town. Tri City agreed to tow the car back and offered a loaner, which was the only positive experience. They eventually admitted the thermostat wasn't ever needed and said they'd issue a refund. The owner can also express sometimes things just happen and things can go wrong. However, the refund receipt was vague, and when I asked for clarification, shop supervisor Jennifer McCormick responded unprofessionally--handwriting unclear notes on the receipt. I followed up via text, simply requesting confirmation of the refund details. Within minutes, Ken McCormick, the owner, called me with a hostile tone, stating, "I already told you what the refund was for." Despite having printed documentation and screenshots of the initial refund, Ken and the Tri-City team ultimately reversed and voided the promised refund transaction. I had to take my car to another repair shop, where the technicians expressed serious concerns about the work Tri-City performed. All dashboard lights are now on, and there appears to be additional electrical damage. I've already lost over a week of access in my car, now using LYFT and incurred more than $1k in additional repair costs--potentially even more. Tri City Auto is dishonest, unethical, and extends dangerous. I would never trust them with my vehicle again and strongly advise others to avoid this shop. what they are doing to people is so unfair and I would not wish this treatment on anyone.

He also at one point cautioned me against getting ripped off by other shops by calling it "rape". Even as a man, this made me feel kind of in danger. What am I going to tell this guy when he's driving me through my neighborhood to my house? I can't fault the quality of the work itself, or even the helpfulness of the service, but I felt bad that someone would look at me and think I would be receptive to this kind of language, and I am unconvinced of the shop's ability to serve all customers safely and fairly regardless of gender.

Required fairly extensive maintenance, so I was expecting to drop some coin. The counter man was friendly, helpful, and gave me a quote I was pretty happy with. In the end, it was unusually spot on, and when I came to pay and fetch, a different counter lady saw my work ID and gave me a discount for working at Duke. Overall, fair, efficient and would definitely be comfortable going back there again.

I've never owned a Mitsubishi before so I'm unsure whether this is typical but I have owned several brand new cars and have never required service within the first 7 months of ownership let alone 5 times.  I called in a month ago with a warranty question and have yet to receive a return phone call from Coretta.  During my attempt to check in at my last and final appt, Coretta was amid a work inappropriate rant about how far behind she was on paperwork while acting like my presence for the appt I was given was an inconvenience for her. And once again I left without the job that I came in for having been completed in full which is definitely a trend.  She claimed that a part had to be ordered and she would call to schedule once it arrived. Of course its 2 months later and nothing.  Then I randomly have a missed call from them with no voicemail message after I've had the problem addressed elsewhere.  But hey she doesn't even call to tell me when car is ready when it's there as if I'm just supposed to know by osmosis when to pick it up.  At least she's consistent. She is the least easy person to deal with and shockingly the ONLY person in the tiny office that is their service dept. Each time I had to take my car I prayed for there to be literally ANYONE else for me to deal with and I mean ANYONE.  I have acknowledged or rather accepted what I already knew after my first visit which is that there is new learning or behavioral change occurring here. The sales dept was great but service with this lady has made me want to take crumbl cookies for everyone in the service dept at my other dealership because this type of nonsense would never be tolerated there.  I called and asked for the GM and the operator connected me to a voicemail for the vice president and COO who has yet to return my call as well. It seems that this type of behavior is an organizational issue and likely will NOT change. It's sad because the buying experience was great but it has been nothing short of debotchery since then. Skip this place and save yourself the aggravation. She's overwhelmed, disorganized, and obviously ill equipped to be a department of one. Last weekend, I found a rattling noise coming from the back of my car. I was worried about driving it and thought about bringing it to a big chain auto repair shop which opens on weekends. I am so glad I didn't because it would have cost me a pretty penny. I brought the car to Couch on Monday morning, they took a look right away, secured the heat shield from the exhaust and I am on my way! They didn't charge me anything because I am a loyal customer! You just don't find honest and nice repair shop like this anymore, I highly recommend it!
