My car broke down when I went home for lunch. Fortunately, it broke down in my own driveway. I Unfortunately, it wouldn't turn on for me to drive it to a mechanic shop. I initially looked for a tow truck to move my vehicle to a shop but they wanted to charge $100 for 1 mile (no thanks). So when I looked into mechanics that come to you, I came across this one, amongst others. This was not my first choice due to the fact that this page has very little reviews to go off of. But I chose them because they're the only ones willing to work on weekends. Thank God, this was it. Sam is the mechanic who came out. He was extremely polite from the start. He analyzed my car and told me what the problem was and his fee for labor. As I'm not very trusting of new people, I chose to buy my own part for the car. He never once insisted to do anything outside of his initial recommendation. He showed me the old part, thoroughly explained what was wrong with it, and didn't attempt to keep it (which tells me he wasn't trying to bs me out of a car part). I used their service for brakes squealing something atrocious. I travel throughout the day for work in my vehicle so it's must I feel peace of mind. When I called this evening, someone answered and asked me about the issue. Immediately set an appointment to change my brake pads. Mechanic was on time, thorough on the details and did not squeeze more unnecessary costly jobs like Midas does . He did find a minor issue, but assured me it did not have to absolutely be done right this minute but would wear out my brakes a little faster. Brakes were repaired in my garage at my home in less than an hour for less than Midas usual advertised cost. Mechanic was very knowledgeable of the issue and answered any questions I had. I was also able to provide my own lifetime brake pads from Auto Zone. I have used Pro Grade Mobile Mechanics twice now. The first time was because of a tire blowout. Sam just put on my spare so that I could take it to have the warranty covered tire replaced. He returned my call quickly and was the only person who could come out that day (I recommend calling the number listed on Yelp and not just leaving a message on here). He was at my home within the hour, quickly replaced the tire and his price was very reasonable. This time, my battery went dead, and I knew I needed brakes because Sam and I discussed this when he changed my tire. I called Sam and he responded extremely quickly. He replaced my battery very quickly, then got the information he needed to finish up on my brakes that afternoon. I went from having a dead battery and bad brakes that morning to a perfectly running car by the early afternoon. Sam is fast, detailed, honest, and his prices are very reasonable considering you don't even have to leave your home or workplace. I wish I could give this company negative stars. I hired Sam at Pro Grade Mobile Mechanics to install a transmission oil cooler on my International School Bus. He came to my location, installed the part, and sent me on my way. Everything seemed fine until 1.5 hours into my trip, my transmission failed. I pulled over immediately. After calling him and doing things he suggested to diagnose, I went outside and noticed oil all over the place. When I went to the front of the bus, the BRAND NEW hose he installed had come loose and spilled out all of my transmission oil onto the highway. I immediately took pictures and called him. He came out to me right away explaining he felt bad. He "fixed" the broken hose and poured nearly 5 gallons of transmission oil back into my bus. He then followed me to the next exit and did some additional "securing" of the hoses he had just installed. He then told me he didn't put the right size fittings on the hoses and that "tomorrow, I should go buy 1/2" fittings and have someone repair the line. Well, that's what I paid Pro Grade Mobile Mechanics to do and they did not do the job properly which thereby left me stranded and did damage to my transmission. After he was done "securing the line" with a million zip ties and clamps so that it wouldn't leak again and I could get back on the road, he had the nerve to ask me to pay for the $300 in transmission oil that he had to replace. I refused as I am not responsible for paying for Pro Grade Mobile Mechanics mistakes! I had already paid over $400 for the part and work to be done on my bus which had then failed due to Pro Grade Mobile Mechanics negligence. That being said, I was concerned that they might still try to charge my credit card for the oil, so I promptly cancelled that credit card. Good thing I did, because they in fact did try to run a $300 charge thru my card for the oil in which my credit card company sent me an email notifying me of the fraudulent charge. The "owner" of the company. A woman. Has sent me multiple text messages threatening to have me arrested, file a claim against me and accused me of scamming their business. They are the scams! They do not provide quality work and caused additional damage to the bus. I am currently at an International Service department that is correcting the ill-installed hoses and making sure I no longer leak transmission fluid. Do NOT NOT NOT hire this company. read more

Sam saved the day! He did a superb job on my high mileage 2005 Nissan Altima this week. (Nov2016) I ran into trouble while replacing Coils. After calling eight people via a Google search - Sam called back within twenty minutes and none of the others EVER called back that day ( or the next) He was on a job but was here at my place (77007 / Memorial Heights/River Oaks) within two hours and knocked out a very complicated job (for us) quickly, efficiently, and perfect. I purchased tires from this company. The lady who answer my phone was super sweet and patient as I kept repeating the same question over and over again, lol! Honestly, she really surprised me how she did NOT exploded and gave me attitude. I just had an emotional day, and so my attention span was very tiny atm. . . Moving on. The woman, was very kind to explain brands and all kinds of tire details. Tbh, I hardly know anything regarding cars, so the info. given was very useful. Sam is a lifesaver! I can't say enough to express my gratitude for his services. My mother works two jobs to make ends meet since my father passed away, and she threw a belt on her car on the way to work. If she can't get to her jobs she loses her home and has to move in with me, hence he's a lifesaver. He charged me half of what the nearest dealer quoted me and they couldn't get to it immediately. So not only does he save you money over another shop, I would have had to pay towing, and a rental car for an unknown period of time.
