While waiting, the technician called to explain he was overbooked (unlike what their name says they are NOT in Seabrook, but subcontract operators from all over Houston). I pleaded with the guy to come help, so he relented. Not only did Salvador show up when he said he would--6pm, when he should have been on his way home to the other side of Houston--he was understanding and assured me he could take care of the stains. It was hard work to set up his truck based machine and he did a thorough job of cleaning the entire rug, which took him about 45 minutes. It was a huge help to have a professional take care of a problem for me and be so nice about it.

Well after years and years of giving business and clients to Portico, I have to move my business…read moreelsewhere. It really sucks when you develop relationships where you give and care about a business and that isn't reciprocated. I've given Portico thousands in business. I always tipped over and always made sure they were treated fairly. After the freeze I called John and told him my rug needed to be steamed out. Well he came out and I agreed to the drive cost and price to steam the rug. He took it for four days and I gave him plenty of time for it to dry. When he brought it back it was wrapped in plastic. I assumed it was dry so I went to sleep that night and left it the next day until I could get to it. When I went to unwrap it, the rug was wet. I had no idea and he didn't tell me. This meant he waited til the last minute to clean the rug before bringing it back. I indicated the rug at soured and he said he would come grab it and resteam it. A week later he had still not come back and the carpet just soured and sat there. I told him I'd like a refund and he did refund me. The issue is the rug was 350 and the service was 120. I chalked it up to a loss because I had used John for so long. Two months later I needed a quick steam on a Jeep and offered to drive to him to steam the front seats (a 10 min job), and I asked him to throw me a deal since we had the issue with the rug (I was thinking 40 dollars which is half the rate I normally pay for the whole vehicle). Since it was just two front seats and I was driving to him I though it was a win for him. Nope. 85.00 min. I think the two really great kids I met and used for 5+ years have since lost their customer service skills. Perhaps it's all about the dollar. I found a replacement at half the cost. It sucks I had to, but I'm better off for it now. I wish you guys well.

He was super professional, he did a great job overall; however, we had pet stains and odor on the area rug and it still smells. The playroom remains wet so I have fans going to try and get the carpet to dry. It still smells a little in there but I think once dry it'll be better. Overall I am happy with the way my area rug looks and the fact that the playroom is clean but the smell bothers me and also how long it is taking to dry.
