Yes, yes & YES!!! So happy to have stumbled across Pro Cakes! In fact, if anything, I'm just disappointed in myself that it took me this long to discover them. I was initially on the hunt to find a local bakery that could make a Valentine's Day cake! And as I started researching, I stumbled across the infamous Pro Cakes and the story behind its CEO having been on Cake Wars. As it was my first visit, I decided to get a selection of their cookies... Including their infamous Sinkerdoodle & some cupcakes!! Literally ALL of them were delicious and I cannot wait to go back to try more of their selections & have a cake made for a special event.

So I'm headed to Rivertown AMC for a movie in Oxon Hill, cruising down after a good dinner, and I think: "You know what would make this night perfect? Dessert." I hop on Yelp, scroll through a few options, and BOOM--Pro Cakes pops up. Black-owned bakery? Great prices? Glowing reviews? Say less. Now, I'll admit--I didn't realize it was in Iverson Mall. And truthfully, if I had known, I might've kept scrolling (don't judge me). I've managed to avoid Iverson Mall for almost 30 years, but something said, "Go anyway." And I'm so glad I listened. Pulling up to the mall was like stepping into a time capsule. It's old, no doubt, but surprisingly clean and well-kept. There's no grand entrance--just vibes. I walked through Forman Mills, went upstairs, wandered a bit (shoutout to the two MIA directories ), but eventually found Pro Cakes tucked among the small shops like a hidden gem. And trust me, worth every step. I grabbed the $5 cookie bag--sampled eight different cookies (felt like more, honestly), paid easily with Apple Pay, and was back on the road in no time. I didn't even make it to the theater before I cracked open the bag... and let me tell you--these cookies were ridiculous. Soft, flavorful, rich, and did not need a glass of milk (but wouldn't hurt either ). Every bite was a winner. They nailed texture, flavor, and size. Just straight-up homemade love in a cookie bag. I saw slices of cake, cupcakes, and even pies calling my name from behind the glass. And yes, I'll be back for those too. Pro Cakes is that spot. A hidden treasure in a mall I thought I'd never step foot in again. Dessert mission: accomplished. Let me know if you want a shorter version for Google Maps or a more comedic one for social!

Back again at the brick and mortar on St. Barnabas Rd and we still love the snickerdoodles. Added a passionfruit and strawberry lemonade. $5 for 32oz and both flavors are delicious. My son wanted another oreo cupcake. The last time we had cupcakes, they were still moist days later. We will definitely be back.

Snickerdoodles were solid, which is always a good sign at a DMV bakery. I originally ordered strawberry lemonade and banana pudding cupcakes. They were not stocking strawberry lemonade cupcakes and called me during business hours the day after I placed my order to inform and inquire about ordering a substitute. The cupcakes were wonderful I ended up swapping for the strawberry cupcakes with buttercream.

Great service the owner is really humble and pleasant! This is in our local area. I am pleased someone is doing business in our area.

Quick in and out and good service! This was my first time here and I was able to try a cookie before committing to my flavors. I tried the butter crunch and it was delicious as was the chocolate chip.

So good! I'm not a big fan of lemon flavor but this lemon cake right here?!! Yes! I can do this, it's moist, not tart or tangy, just the right amount of lemon flavor. The cake itself tastes fresh, not dense or heavy. I love it! I usually just get the banana pudding cupcake, I got that too

I ordered a dozen cupcakes for my friend's birthday from here. It was easy to place an order (about a week out) and Erica was very helpful during the process. My friend's favorite flavor is pink strawberry so I got pink strawberry cupcakes with buttercream frosting and whipped frosting too. The cupcakes were moist and not too sweet. They were very tasty and we all enjoyed them. I would recommend and order from them again in the future!

Like everyone else in the area, who saw this establishment on the news, I decided to go as well to see what Stevie Wonder was excited about. The signs are quite hilarious. The owner is very nice as is the staff. The cookies, I wish they were a bit sweeter. The owner was telling the customers in front of me that the cookies have zero preservatives and are baked every day. I actually preferred the chocolate chip cookie instead of the snickerdoodle. I wish they had a red velvet cupcake when I went however they did not.

Let me start off with the banana pudding! EVERY ELEMENT was DIVINE from the ripe bananas, creamier than creamy whipped cream and SUPER MOIST base! It's enough to share but WHO's sharing? I shared with MYSELF during a second sitting! Hmph! Let's move on over to the cream cheese pound cake! Let me just say that I've only had ONE that was comparable and that was my Daddy's and haven't had ANY since he passed in 2018! This one did not disappoint!! But, that lemon cake though!!! Every crumb of the cake was heavenly and the icing was created by the angels themselves!!! Oh...btw, I despise icing but THIS!!!! OMG! Divine!! I ended up getting this on a whim when my sweet tooth took over my body!! Typed in "desserts" in my DoorDash search and THERE SHE WAS! Won't He do it?! Shole did!!! Please know that the hands that prepared these are ANOINTED!!! BONUS: their peach lemonade is to die for! I could drink it by the BUCKETS!! Do yourself a favor and get you some cuz' I ain't sharin' my Pro Cakes!!!! Y'all can thank me later!!

In need of cakes for a family party and this was recommended by a good family friend. Check out their social media pages for designs and the like. Located inside thee Iverson Mall, small store front only. Bakery case with cupcakes, strawberries and the like. Didn't appear to be too busy when we arrived AND they gave out samples that day...whooop! What better way to know what we want than by trying just about everything?! From Oreo, snickerdoodle, strawberry, and chocolate cupcakes to their sweet potato pound cake, everything was just blame delicious. Some of the flavored cakes weren't as moist as I would prefer, but no biggie from me as that is just my preference. General consenses from my taste testing family was that the frosting was a little too thick, but that didn't stop them from getting punished! Ha! In the end we did not end up using this company for our cake; I found the process of attempting to order cakes in person as difficult. The day that we arrived, it didn't appear to be busy, but not much effort was made into the sale. I suppose that was because they preferred to take online orders? Not sure. Later, I contacted them via email in an effort to order another cake for another event and was not pleased with the process. Despite providing my desired order in advance(over a week), I was told that I would need to come to the location 72 hours in advance and provide a deposit with my requested cake, then return with the remaining funds on the day of to obtain my cake. I suggested another form of payment- online so that I could avoid going to the location twice, and was told it would incur an additional. Honestly, I don't have the time to run back and forth, so I did not proceed further. Customer service via email was great, my only suggestion is to perhaps consider other methods of taking orders, and to take varying forms of payments without convenience fees.
