Our microwave stopped working for the 2nd time in less than a year. When it stopped working the 1st time, our home warranty company sent out someone who replaced a part to just get the microwave working again, but obviously didn't solve the problem completely as it stopped working less than 6 months later. We reached back out to our home warranty company and they set out Carlos from Pro Appliance Service. After coming out to diagnose the problem, he determined that there was more that needed to be replaced to really fix the underlying issue. After getting the parts ordered, Carlos came back out and was able to get everything replaced and the unit back up and running. Highly recommend Carlos for your next repair! read more

I have now had Carlos out to fix a number of things. First, he put a new mother board on my oven and it's been great ever since. He fixed our ice maker a few times as well - which was on its last legs. Today he came out to fix my dishwasher which had water standing on the bottom. He quickly diagnosed the issue and repaired it. We were having problems with our dishwasher and our range. Our home warranty company is contracted with Pro Appliance, and after reading the reviews I wasn't sure what to expect. In the end, Pro Appliance was great. I read the reviews about scheduling problems, but that didn't happen to us. They were very friendly on the phone, and got Carlos out to our house the next day. Carlos was excellent, which is consistent with the other reviews. I don't know if they have any other repair guys. Carlos fixed the range quickly, which was great. Unfortunately, the dishwasher (only two years old) needed a new motherboard and a new touch pad (guess they don't make them like they used to). The parts were on backorder, so it took a few weeks to get them, but this didn't seem to be Pro Appliance's fault. We had to wait a bit for the install because it was December and Pro Appliance closed for two weeks (part of having only one repair guy I guess). After the holidays, Carlos came over with another guy he was training, and got the dishwasher running great. In general, home warranty companies seem to send the lowest bidder, which is generally not the best. In this case, I was very pleasantly surprised. The scheduling was very easy, and the person on the phone was very nice. Carlos was great; professional, knowledgeable, courteous, and on time. If I have problems in the future, this is the company I will use, even if I no longer have a home warranty. read more

My home warranty assigned this company to come and service my washing machine in May 2019. They came and reviewed and stated that it needed a part and someone would contact me within 5-7 days. Well, 48 days later, I am still waiting. I called the company left a voice message, sent an email per their voice message; called my home warranty company, they reached out and president of company Brian, stated he would call me directly on 5/30/19. Our home warranty company dispatched Pro Appliance Service to our home for three incidents (twice the washing machine and once the refrigerator). We have not always had the greatest luck with their contractors so were absolutely delighted when the Techs arrived on time to every appointment (with the 20 minute heads up call), presented professionally, and fixed the issues with minimum fuss. Our washer was quite old so when a second item broke they were able to recommend that our warranty pay replacement cost rather than keep repairing it. With each occurrence they submitted complete paperwork to the warrant company on the same day as the visit and they did the back and forth so I didn't have to spend my time on the phone with customer service and the authorization department haggling through my claim. The three techs I worked with were all very personable and even gave me tips on keeping my appliances in top shape so I have cleaner clothes and fluffier towels to boot. I wouldn't hesitate to hire them again even if my appliance wasn't covered by the warranty. read more

"Dispatcher Laura" rescheduled twice (to accommodate her schedule) . She promised to call me (I gave her all of my numbers...which she conveniently lost) before the repairman arrived. She did not, and the repairman departed without repairing the refrigerator. Amazingly incompetent scheduling, compounded by zero personal responsibility. Avoid Pro Appliance Service at all costs. BEWARE! This company was sent out by my home warranty company, Fidelity, to fix my refrigerator ice maker and left without properly checking their work. Their work ended up causing a leak under my fridge, which damaged my hardwood floor and the ceiling below. The damage totaled over $11k in repairs. Their repair guy (who I believe is also the owner) Carlos admitted that he should not have turned the water on when he changed the ice maker, but never took responsibility for the damage he caused. The receptionist Laura, who I believe is also an owner/manager, was extremely rude, condescending, and actually hung up the phone on me. Later when i called her out for hanging up on me, she admitted doing so and said she did so because she didn't have time to talk to me and field my concern/complaint on the damage Carlos caused. With this company's terrible customer service and shoddy, damage causing work, I don't know how they are in business. RUN FOR THE HILLS unless you want a damaged home and to be talked down to. read more

TOTALLY INCOMPETENT APPLIANCE TECHNICIANS! TOTALLY RUDE & NON-ACCOMIDATING CUSTOMER SERVICE (LAURA)! I'm not sure if it's just because we're going through our Fidelity Warranty...but we've had 2 major fixes (fridge & stove top) and both have gone horribly wrong in every way. 1) MOST IMPORTANTLY!!! Our stove top had burners replaced. 2 of 5 were working. After they were drilled out and re-wired with new parts, I cooked dinner that same night to finally enjoy my burners (yet only 2 were being used at the time) After 30 minutes of cook time my entire range EXPLODED LIKE A BOMB!!! Thank God my daughter & I weren't close by at the time, and no one was hurt. When I called Laura to tell her the dangerous situation that just happened, she blew-it-off, saying..."it was just a gas leak", and "I've never heard of this in 35yrs." 2) Our water dispenser was leaking...valve was replaced...then it leaked more after the repair. When I tried to argue this point with 'Laura', she was rude, short with me and swore "nothing like this has happened in 35 yrs." (hmmm...sounds familiar) Needless to say, Fidelity will be hearing about this...again...and we will NEVER deal with Pro Appliance again! read more

This company was sent out by our home warranty co. because our dishwasher quit working immediately after we just purchased our first home. The repairman told me we needed a new dishwasher or the major parts repaired, but there was nothing he could do for us that day. The home warranty company called me the day after the report was filed and specifically told me that due to how the appliance repair man wrote the report, they weren't going to cover the cost of repairs and denied our claim. She told me that if he would have been less specific and wrote "due to normal wear and tear" they would have covered it no problem. I'm so furious. How inept can you be? Now I have to pay these idiots a deductible AND pay for a new dishwasher. I do not recommend using their services. read more

Disclaimer: This review is based on my experience with Pro Appliance Service working on behalf of Fidelity National Home Warranty. First, a minor complaint: I live in Poway and scheduling a service call to Poway was not prompt for either the initial service or the (cancelled) follow up. I suspect if you live in Poway and you want prompt service, you wouldn't use a company in Lakeside anyway, but it's worth mentioning. Now for the main compleint: The service work I requested was never completed. My service request indicated that my dishwasher ran through all the cycles properly, but the washing arms did not spin. The note that was left after the initial service call indicated the lower washer arm wasn't installed properly and that I needed to run dishwasher cleaner through the dishwasher to take care of accumulated hard water and soap deposits. This sounded reasonable because the dishwasher had lots of soap and hard water buildup. Initially I tried running multiple full cycles with both CLR and vinegar (not at the same time). After doing this, the dishwasher looked a bit cleaner, but I could still observe that the middle and top washing arms were not moving. Essentially the only washing arm that had been fixed was the lower arm. At this point I called Pro Appliance Service back to ask for a return service call, since I had attempted to clean the dishwasher and the original problem was still not fixed. I was told that vinegar and CLR would not be sufficient and that I must use a cleaner specially designed for dishwashers. I was told if that didn't work, to call back. So at my expense, I purchased Affresh from Home Depot and ran it through the dishwasher according to the directions over the next two days until I ran out of cleaner. After doing this, I still didn't see any movement at all from the middle or top washing arms. After confirming that a reasonable cleaning didn't help, I reached out to Pro Appliance Service, as instructed. At this point I was told that the technician did in fact observe the middle and upper arms rotating when he made his initial service call, which I never witnessed. Reluctantly, they scheduled a follow up to come re-inspect the dishwasher. At this point I'm sure if I had contacted Pro Appliance Service directly to do this work outside of a home warranty, I'm fairly sure I would have had a technician come out to replace the lines going to the middle and upper washer arms and the end result would have been a repair that took a week longer than it should have to begin with. What happened to me, on the other hand, was Pro Appliance communicated to the home service warranty company that I requested another service call for a cleaning service and the home warranty company called me directly to inform me it would not be covered. Let me be clear that I don't hold Pro Appliance Service responsible for the terms of my home warranty, but from my interactions during the follow up calls after the initial service, I feel that Pro Appliance Service attitude and actions suggest they wanted to avoid coming back out to actually fix the problem, at least without extracting more money from me somehow. Maybe this reluctance stems from the pay structure between the warranty service and Pro Appliance Service, but in my opinion it reflects poorly on both businesses. read more

Our 3 year-old fridge leaked water on the floor, which then soaked through the woodwork to damage the wall and carpet in the adjacent room. An inspection on my part showed that the plastic drain pan had disintegrated! Lots of cracks and loose pieces! I scheduled an appointment with Pro Appliance after being referred to them by our home warranty company. I gave them the fridge model number and the part number I found online for the drain pan that I believed needed to be replaced. Carlos at Pro Appliance also did his own research because this was an uncommon repair for this model refrigerator and he had never had to do it before. He even talked with the factory technical service to get the scoop on what became anticipated to be a complicated repair. Carlos arrived early with the correct part. He informed me that the manufacturer had admitted to having problems with bad composition plastic for the drain pans on early model versions of our fridge and that was what caused it to disintegrate within only 3 years. The actual repair process was nothing like what the technical support line told Carlos to expect. He had to cut out parts of the drain pan just to get the fan shroud out of the way. He could not get the fan shroud back into place without damaging it or the newly installed drain pan, which prompted him to call the manufacturer back in the middle of the job. They did not provide Carlos with any meaningful help. Eventually Carlos figured out that there actually were bolts on the bottom of the fridge (it had to be tilted up to expose them), contrary to what the manufacturer's help line had told him. Once he had that figured out, the rest of the repair went very smoothly. Carlos impressed me with his care (we were worried about the fridge scratching our floor) and his patience when things didn't go well. He could have easily snapped or otherwise broken the fan shroud had he tried to force it into place. Instead he took his time to figure out the problem in a situation he had never faced before. All during this time he was explaining to me what he was doing. Carlos told me he had been doing appliance repair for 34 years, and his competency clearly showed. While I am not happy about the quality of my refrigerator, I am very happy about the quality of Pro Appliance Repair and highly recommend them. read more

These guys were sent out per my Home Warranty insurance to repair my refrigerator in July. According to them the part necessary to repair the appliance is on backorder. It's over a month (going on 2 months) that we call weekly to check the ETA of the part. We are quickly brushed aside by whoever answers the phone stating she's going to find the ETA and get back to us... or she's going to find more information and has my info and will get back to us. There is absolutely no sense of urgency with this matter when it comes to Pro appliance service. They don't care if I call everyday or enough to even be polite over the phone and not try to get rid of me and my families concerns over the phone. I understand the part is on backorder but I'm well aware there are other sources the part is available. My review is based on the lack of empathy shown through multiple conversations and the lack of communication I have received from this receptionist. Instead of telling me "I know who you are" every time I call, why don't you provide an actual ETA as discussed every call or even the tiny bit of concern to call me back. I would not recommend this company, especially if you need something to be repaired right away. I mean, which family of 4 really needs their refrigerator to work these days? ‍ read more

For days and days I called all over San Diego to find someone who even KNEW about, let alone being able to REPAIR a clock/timer in an (1980s) O'Keefe & Merritt built in automatic oven, and was unsuccessful until I came across the Pro Appliance Service in the Yelp reviews. My first call to them provided not only a knowledgeable answer, but a quote on the "ballpark" price to repair it (which turned out to be very accurate). Carlos was able to come very promptly to remove the clock and send it out to be rebuilt, and then reinstall it about a week later. The repair was a lot less costly than replacing the whole oven!
