I called Greg after getting no tech support from Whirlpool. Their one authorized repair company in all of San Diego did not have availability to come out for 4 days and my refrigerator is leaking freon so I needed quick answers. I shared the problem with Greg to see if it was worth repairing and he explained the high costs of my problem, and recommended getting a new one because some of the issues were not repairable due to parts not being readily available. I deeply appreciate that he was willing to give me free advice, unlike the Whirlpool authorized repair service, which would have made me wait 4 days and pay a show-up fee to tell me I need a new fridge or expect me to spend more than the appliance is worth to fix it. Called in our trouble with our electric dryer (Whirlpool) and set an appointment, Wednesday, 10MAY2023. Tim came in and gave us the estimates to fix our dryer and at the same time performed inspection regarding our washing machine regarding the noise when it's in spinning cycle. The drum itself was damaged and probably the unit or casing holding the drum was also damaged, Tim was so honest giving us advice just to continue using it until the washer completely out of commission. Repair cost plus parts might exceed $600+... The heating element was replaced after Tim left and return with the replacement unit, installed then fired the dryer pushing all buttons and the unit performed like new...BZ (Bravo Zulu) for Tim being honest and a job well done!!! My dishwasher is leaking from the front. They charged me $260 to replace a part and said it was fixed. It continued to leak so I had them come back, which they did at no charge. They worked on it for a while and said it was fixed again. It is not fixed. It doesn't leak right away, but the towel I put in front of the dishwasher is soaked by the end of the cycle. They've already come out twice and weren't able to fix it so I feel like it would be a waste of time to call them again. I will probably have to buy a new dishwasher, which is only 4x the cost of the repair anyway. I won't ask for a refund but I won't be calling this repair company again because they don't know how to properly verify their work actually fixed the problem. read more

This was our second experience with Just Call Me Greg. Our 48" Kitchenaid side-by-side built-in fridge freezer is about 12 years old. In December, it randomly started defrosting itself, usually while we were out of town. When we came back, the contents were mostly frozen again, but there was an overtemperature warning on the control panel, and some things didn't smell good. So, it was expensive in terms of food waste. We texted Greg the first time it happened, and he suggested a full defrost (this is a self-defrosting freezer, but apparently the coils can get iced up). He did not charge us for the advice - really good, decent guy. That worked for a month, but then it failed again. This time, there wasn't much in the freezer, as we didn't trust it. Dinner every night required garage shopping! So, we went for another defrost, based on the previous advice. This time, it sort of worked, but was unreliable. We texted Greg again, but of course the gremlins that affect appliances know when timing is difficult, and this was on Easter Sunday. Amazingly, Greg replied the next morning with a same day appointment for his technician to come out. Denis arrived and was very efficient in assessing the problem. His first diagnosis was a blockage in the freon circulation, but when that didn't solve the problem, he decided that we needed a new compressor inverter. It was late in the day at this point, and he didn't have the part, but he agreed to come back the following morning after visiting the parts store. He was a bit late coming back, but it turned out that he had to drive almost 100 miles to get the part, as the first store he went to thought they had it in stock, but couldn't find it. We were amazed that he tried so hard, and succeeded by visiting a second store so far away. Our freezer is now fixed and has been working reliably for 2 weeks. We are delighted, as replacing it would have cost 20 times the price of the repairs. Many thanks to Greg and Denis. We trust them and would use them any time for appliance repair. Excellent customer service. Went above and beyond diagnosing a dishwasher leak that 2 previous companies failed to diagnose properly.

A bit of a mixed experience here, as the team was very helpful in some ways and friendly, but we had an interesting run of costs and varying levels of communication about them. We bought a fridge used (Don't recommend doing that) that wasn't very old and had a pretty high sticker price when new. After moving it into our house, we found that it wasn't keeping the temperature properly. Just Call Me Greg was responsive in sending out a technician to fix that issue at a reasonable price. The technician also offered to run the water line to the fridge for $80. We agreed, but he worked for about 45 minutes and wasn't able to clear the line properly within the fridge, so we ended up paying him the $80 to run the small plastic line along the outside of our fridge with tape, which didn't last long. Shortly after this first fix, we noticed that our fridge would periodically leak out of the bottom. We messaged again and Greg agreed to send a technician to diagnose it at no cost. The technician communicated promptly and arrived as scheduled. He spent about 90 minutes at our house and informed us that the charge was $150. When we let him know that we had been told the diagnosis would be free, he said that he had fixed a new issue (not the one previously dealt with), so the fee was for the new repair (adding a larger drain). We paid the charge, as we never want to push back on fair pay for work. It would have been nice to have some communication prior to the point at which that visit went from a free assessment to a $150 fix. All in all, the company has been responsive in dealing with a tricky fridge, though the repairs and cost haven't always panned out exactly as we would have preferred. I think they would be great, especially for a more simple or straightforward job. read more

I had Greg back for another service, this time for my leaking in-fridge ice maker. The leak generated a giant block of ice in the bin. Again, Greg's expertise resulted in a fast and reasonably priced repair. Based on pics I provided, Greg brought the needed part, a steamer to melt the buildup, and installation of the new ice maker was done in about an hour. Full disclosure - I had a weird problem that persisted after the repair. Whenever I used the ice dispenser located in the door, the ice bin would kick up and forward, disengaging the screw that pushes the ice forward. Greg generously helped me troubleshoot resolution. Near as we could tell, the wire piece that tells the dispenser to dispense was bent during the freeze. Since my Whirlpool fridge is an older model, the replacement part is no longer available. Together Greg & I worked out a fix by attaching a padded block to the door that holds the ice bin into place. Not pretty BUT IT WORKS so now I have both cubes & crushed ice during this crazy hot summer. THANK YOU AGAIN GREG!!!!! read more

Greg was on time and repaired our oven quickly. He identified the issue, explained it to me in a non-technical way and also showed me what he was going to repair. He had the part in his truck, so the process was seamless. He and the gentleman that he was training were very professional. I would recommend them because of the quick work they did...BUT, when he called to take payment over the phone, he REFUSED to provide a receipt. I asked multiple times as our homeowner needs this for his taxes. That part was SUPER SHADY. Lessened learned on our part - get an invoice before you pay. I couldn't believe he wouldn't provide a receipt or invoice. Income under the table for him, and no documentation for our homeowners taxes and no invoice for our homeowners insurance claim. SHADY!!! very dissapointed. I called yesterday because of all the positive reviews and because it said they were LGBTQ friendly. I was told to text all the info and they would contact my tenant to schedule, and would keep me in the loop. I never heard a thing back.
