Last year I had them out to fix my icemaker. They put it in a new motor from that point on it works sometimes and sometimes I wouldn't call them out yesterday again to check that motor maybe adjust it. The guy kept telling me it had nothing to do with the icemaker. It wasn't getting water, blah, blah blah blah blah blah then he took it apart and replace some evaporator now I have no water no ice. Everything in my freezer I had to throw away it defrosting my refrigerator is barely cold. I called them first thing this morning. They did not bother to call me back. My experience with 858Appliance was excellent. The technician who came, Egor, was very polite and thoroughly explained the needed repairs and cost. I agreed and he said he had to get parts from the warehouse and would be back the following day between 2-5pm to do the repair work, At 1:35pm I received a text saying he would be at my house in 25 minutes and at 2:00 on the dot he arrived. the repairs were completed within 20 minutes and the final bill was exactly the same as the estimate. Our washing machine wasn't working right. Ed and OSCAR were kind enough to make an appointment when I called on a Sunday to be seen on a Monday by Oscar. The price for a diagnostic is reasonable. More affordable than others. Oscar the repair guy was knowledgeable about washing machines etc. He gave us options. Our washing machine would turn on but remain on pause for brand Fridgidaire, maybe the door lock. Either replace the part or buy a new one or they can fix it and if it doesn't work we work out an agreement. Oscar came on time ( anytime between 12- 3 p.m. ) and texted me immediately when I had questions. He let me know when he was on his way. Oscar is good at follow-up. I can see why people trust this company. They don't try to squander your money just to make a buck. They give you an honest look at the washer and I didn't feel like I was taken advantage of. The parts are retail price. I would recommend this company and Oscar. Plus Oscar was a fan of the SAN DIEGO PADRES lol! go padres NLCS. Oscar gave alternatives to my parents and made it easy. There's a reason why they have good reviews. It's great to do business with them. So if you're going to need something fixed, get a diagnostic and weigh your options. At least you'll know what the problem may be, and have an idea of what may need fixing and how much to repair. You can decide if it's worth it to have it repaired or buy another. It was very convenient. Oscar also gave us tips about how to keep our washer clean (with /vinegar) and help with the odor that gets stuck or moisture. He went beyond his duties with great suggestions. I followed them and it was good. 1) FLEXIBLE, Convenient, honest, reputable, reasonable fees, 4) options Times are hard enough and with this economy, it's helpful to get reasonably priced assessments. Having the facts will help you weigh your decisions better. Sometimes you just need to do your homework and do a little research. If you cannot, you can look at reviews if that's easier for you. HORRIBLE customer service! The owner instructed me they would arrive today between 1pm-4pm. It is now 4pm and they never showed up and I have to leave. I wasted my entire day and my only day off this week waiting at my apartment for them. The owner did not apologize and was extremely rude and hostile. Said it wasn't his fault that the technician didn't show up and he didn't care he wasted my entire day off. How do you own a company with horrible customer service and people skills like that?! Called 858 Appliance on a Wednesday afternoon after hearing from one of our tenants that the washer was acting up. They were able to make it out within 24 hours to diagnose the issue. While we were not at the property, the technician Oscar was able to explain everything to the tenant and then myself over the phone. He was quick and courteous according to our tenant, and professional and honest to me over the phone. Unfortunately our washer's issue was just not worth the repairs, although it was possible. Oscar even gave recommendations on a replacement and did not once try to upsell or recommend repair. He also gave tips to the tenant to avoid issues with a new unit. Very impressed with 858 service. K is the man. Upon finding out our washing machine had issues draining the water, I went ahead and searched for a solution. I came across this business and chose to call them based on their availability, certification, and location. To both of our benefit, I was located not too far away. During rush hour traffic, I was grateful they wouldn't need the freeways to get to my place. The cost was a small price to pay for such good, quick service with further understanding of my appliances and recommendations for future use. The fix didn't even take a half hour, and K was definitely transparent with me about the whole situation. He did give me a heads up that there would be some possible work done with a lid lock, but he worked his magic and that work was avoided, and the cost for that was not incurred as a result. I get that there might be a tendency for the severity of a repair to determine one's satisfaction with the business. I'm just glad that they are so professional and effective. If/when the time comes for other appliances to require service, I wouldn't hesitate calling them. They're good. read more

My washer wouldn't spin correctly and started having a burning odor as if it was being overworked. I was hoping to get it fixed and postpone getting a new washer. I called 858Appliance and made an appointment for Sunday morning between 10-11AM. The morning of, it was already 11 AM and no show or call. I call and was told the technician was getting gas and would be there shortly. Technician arrived 20 minutes later and was only in my home for about 10 minutes. Dmitry did not seem like he knew what he was doing. He said my problem was the lid lock which was incorrect as it was replaced 1 year prior. After telling him my issue again, he said maybe it was the barrings. He didn't open anything or try to diagnose the issue properly, and told me I was better off buying a new washer. Disappointed, I called and spoke with Edward who is the owner. I told him my issue with the technician and I was not happy with my service. He refunded the diagnostic fee as requested and even offered to send another technician free of charge. I declined since I ended up purchasing a new washer. My refrigerator was not cooling appropriately. I called 2 other appliance repair companies before this and they were not available for 3-4 days. Hmmm. Like this is a refrigerator--not a washer or dryer. Anyway, this was my 3rd attempt, and they made time to come out. First, someone answered the phone. BIG PLUS. He sent his best tech, Kay. Kay called me as the day went on to give me an estimate on when he would be there. GREAT FOLLOW THROUGH. He diagnosed the problem and had to order parts. He was knowledgeable and experienced and explained the problem. He came back the next day and performed the repair. Unfortunately, my 20 year old refrigerator showed that it could not be fixed and would not freeze ice cubes. I talked to Kay, hoping he could fix it still....but no such luck. He refunded my money. It just was not fixable. Which was sad because I ordered a new fridge and it is a piece of crap, even though it cost a lot. I called in to ask about repair for my LG fridge that had just died. I was told that it sounds like a bad condenser. Apparently it's a known LG problem that is very expensive to replace. The rep told me to call LG because of a defective part. I didn't even know that I could have LG cover their parts. I called LG and they came out and put a new condenser in, free of charge, since it was their defective part. I'm so thankful for the rep from 858Appliance. We had a particularly vexing problem, the kind where it could be any of several things causing our issue with the washing machine. Even though in the end the things they tried did not work, they told us so up front. In then end, they took back trial parts and only charged us the low diagnostic fee. The owner is right when he says most places would charge a lot more for making several trips out. He aware we will likely come back if we have another appliance that his crew can try to fix.
