I had such a wonderful dinner at private property. The service was excellent and ambiance reminded me so much of like downtown Charleston restaurant. Immediately upon entering I realized I scheduled our reservation on the wrong date. The lady up front said no problem and founds us a table. Upon entering you notice the beautiful decor. We sat near a huge windows looking out to the beautiful courtyard. I ordered the shrimp for an appetizer and pimento cheese. The shrimp taste amazing it had a sweet spicy kick. Reminds me of bang bang shrimp. The pimento cheese had a shuttle kick and it was fried on the outside. I then ordered the pasta with chicken, sausage, and shrimp. It was a huge portion and absolutely delicious.

We came to private property to celebrate our 10 year wedding anniversary and it did not disappoint!! Ava was awesome! She was friendly, efficient, and gave excellent service!! The aged ribeye was cooked to perfection and extremely delicious!! We sat outside and enjoyed the slight breeze while enjoying the birds singing! Perfect choice for tonight and for another night soon!

I've been tk this place a few times now and it never fails to disappoint. Very cool vibe with a few different dining rooms. Service is always great, if you really want to be in and out in 45 minutes you easily could. My favorite was the tacos as an appetizer. Cajun coleslaw is so good.

My go-to restaurant in Lexington! The food is always amazing, you can't go wrong with anything on the menu. My favorites are the Mardi Gras Pasta and Steak with fried cream corn!

Summary: We LOVED it! Perfect for a date night! Logistics: I would recommend getting a reservation, but we showed up on a Friday night as a party of 2 and only waited 20 minutes. There is a parking lot across the side street that had plenty of space. They have inside and outside space and both are so cute! We got the Cajun popcorn (crawfish) as an appetizer and it was yummy. The dip was a good flavor and not overwhelming. It's an off-season for crawfish so they were a little smaller than normal but still really good! His old fashioned was delicious. I got a mule which was okay - I just think I didn't care for their ginger beer. Our waitress was super friendly. She never rushed us and checked in at just the right pace. For our entrees, he got a steak, the mashed potatoes and the Cajun slaw. His steak was delicious but the cook was a little over what he asked for. The mashed potatoes were out of this world and the Cajun slaw definitely had some kick to it. We'd probably skip the slaw next time. I got a scallop special with green beans and the fried cream corn. Everything was perfectly cooked and DELICIOUS. The scallops were so buttery and had an amazing flavor. The green beans were fresh and roasted. We loved the fried cream corn and wish we had ordered two orders of this. I don't know how to explain but the flavor and texture were amazing. It's not breaded or anything so take the "friendly lightly. Just order it! I promise. I wish we had space for dessert because the cheesecake looked amazing but I ate my whole meal and couldn't have eaten anything else if I tried.

The food and service were great! My friend and I had an appetizer of pecan crusted pimento cheese. I had the always delicious shrimp and grits-the best within 20 mile radius. She had crab cakes and wine. We split the ice cream brownie-delish! We had a girl's night out dinner here on a Wednesday night, but will chose another night of the week next time due to overflow parking lot at church next door being overfilled. We sat at a 2 top table and had to talk loudly to hear each other.

It's the best Just for me by myself: the total was $50.61 It can be pricey for some people but I had an appetizer, entree, a side, and a glass of sangria. Compared to other restaurants, it's actually pretty reasonable if you are by yourself and want to treat yourself. Do get a reservation if you dine in at the table. I went to the bar. Private Property never disappoints me. The food is always fresh and full of flavor. The shrimp is grits are my favorite! The grits are thick and the sauce is super flavorful. The prime rib was cooked perfectly and paired nicely with those creamy mashed potatoes! The crab cakes were delicious, you really can taste the crab. Staff are always so nice and helpful. The restaurant is clean and provides beautiful seating both inside and out. Looking forward to returning!

Our group had a lovely "Cajun cuisine evening" at Private Property. We were seated a few minutes after our reservation time of 6:00 on a Monday. I think we got the last parking place next to the building. The restaurant is about the furthest from a chain-type ambiance as you can get--a 100+ year old farmhouse. All of the dining areas are small, intimate rooms. The interior is very well appointed and clean! Our dining room contained about four tables and had a non-functional fireplace--a relic from a bygone era. While we could hear talking from across the hall coming from another room. Our spacewas very quiet--a welcomed plus! Most of the staff that we interacted with looked to be in their 20s. They were pleasant enough, but but weren't particularly congenial or welcoming, except for our server. She was very attentive and had a nice personality. Toward the end of the meal, a gentleman who was dressed like a chef came by and asked us how we liked our meals. We all responded in the affirmative. We ordered some drinks and a couple of appetizers to share. My friend and I both ordered an old fashioned. A strong concoction indeed; no complaints. My wife liked the voodoo queen, which had lots of peachy flavor due to the flavored schnapps and vodka. We also ordered sangria, and that was good as well. The appetizers we recommend are the Cajun style eggrolls and the fried pecan encrusted pimento cheese. For our entrées, we had the blackened redfish, jambalaya, gumbo, and crawfish etouffee,' the fish was served with creamed corn, and fresh sautéed green beans. All the entrées were of a generous portion, and well seasoned. Nothing was too salty. I would add that they all had the proper authentic flavor. I can't say they were the best cajun food we've had, but very aesthetically pleasing and tasty. We rounded out the evening with a desert consisting of an ice cream topped cookie! The dishes we had looked and tasted good, and the atmosphere is one of my favorites! There are hundreds of nice pictures of the restaurant and the menu items. For what it's worth I'll add mine as well! Private property is definitely a winner !

Deliciousness! This place is beautiful on the inside. You could pass it by if you didn't know it was there. This was my first time. Me and a few friends stopped by here for dinner. It was beautiful to meet up with everyone after so long. I ordered the steak and crab cakes. They were amazing. Very well seasoned and cooked to perfection. My drink was also delicious. Our waitress was great. She worked a few tables with ours but she was spot on. She did phenomenal! The decor and atmosphere is really nice. It gives date night vibes. You will love it!

This is it. This is the spot. Patio is absolutely gorgeous, you NEED a reservation, we were lucky enough/they were nice enough to squeeze us in on the patio. I got the blackened ribeye and I can attest to what others have said, this might be the best steak in SC. I never order steak at restaurants because I always assume I can do a better one. But I'm glad I got it! Also had the bread pudding and it was amazing. My meal was top notch. My wife got the pasta with crawfish and it was a bit disappointing and lacked flavor. Could have used some salt but there was none on the table. I doubt she would give this place the full 5 stars, but my meal was flawless. read more

Good ambiance, nice lighting, and intimate for date nights. We celebrated our anniversary and they catered to our celebration. Service was great. It's not true Louisiana style, but the Cajun hints are there. Food was seasoned well and reminded me of a hint of creole. read more

Just meh. The food is ok but the atmosphere is horrible. We could not speak to each other our entire meal. I spent the whole night crouched over my table just trying to hear each other. They cram you in this old rickety house right on top of each other and the noise just echoes. And the drinks were so bad, yuk! Not to mention we had to wait 30 minutes past our reservation for our table. I had been wanting to try this place for ever because everyone speaks so highly of it, but this was a bad choice for a birthday dinner :( read more

This was a very nice evening out for our family. Most of the wait staff was very friendly, and our personal waitress was very sweet and informative. The food was top notch and bountiful! Worth the prices, which we found quite reasonable. Restaurant and bathroom facilities were very clean. Good atmosphere and comfortable seating . We went again on Monday and again the food was amazing. We have not yet had a dish that we have not liked. They did say it is not very back of the restaurant room there selves which was very nice and comfortable but I think it was kind of far for the waitress have to go. Very enjoyable day. Joy about food. Flights staff can't say enough good things. read more

There were 5 of us and had no reservations so we were able to sit at the bar! Everything is served with a fuschia colored orchid love this! Suesue, was absolutely phenomenal from her menu recommendations to her bar tending skills very impressive for her young age. This place came highly recommended and was excellent! It's a beautiful piece of property with out door patio. Very pretty woodwork throughout! We had shrimp n grits, blackened fish, scallops, and huge pasta dish all super tasty. read more

If you're interested in Cajun Cuisine in a beautiful old home with amazing aesthetics and wonderful service, then this is the place for you. You're mouth will be watering for everything from the blackened alligator to the Cajun egg rolls, the Mardi Gras Pasta to the Shrimp and Grits, and my personal favorite, the Seafood Jambalaya. Love this restaurant! It's set in an old historic house, so you feel like you are eating at a fancy dinner party. The ribeye steak is amazing! I believe it's cast iron cooked. The drinks are good, with a full wine menu, and bar inside. We go here for many different special occasion. It's a bit pricey, but it's def worth it! read more

Recently had dinner at Private Property. Live near by and had not eaten here in years. The food, service and drinks were off the chain. Spicy red snapper was delicious. Private Property is an outstanding restaurant if you're looking to spend a little more dollar on a nice meal. I can personally attest that the Blackened Porkchop and the Shrimp and Grits are 2 incredible dishes, but I'm sure everything is just as yummy. Solid service and well mixed drinks capped off the very enjoyable meal in a tastefully decorated old house. read more

I ordered a Caesar Salad with the Salmon ... the beignets honestly were better than expected could have a little more powered sugar and yes I know they are fried but I couldn't resist lol ... But the salmon and salad was top notch ... the Caesar dressing had a tangiest to it that paired great with the Salmon .. the seasoning on the salmon was beyond exquisite. My personal preference the salmon could have been cooked less but I was never asked how I wanted it prepared ... nine the less it was still good. My only issue with my dining experience was my waitress being unknowable about certain items on the menu which is unstable to a certain extent but atleast be able to make recommendations. Also we had an extended wait to leave because she got lost several times that night including behind the bar ..drinking . Which I don't have a problem with UNLESS. You can't multi task .. you have to know your customer .. my wife and I were ready to go after eating and she was have a good ole time lol ... And then when we got up and began to walk out, we could see one of the waitresses by the kitchen, throwing her hands up like she had just ignored us for a whole 20 minutes, I did inquire upon arriving if this was the same ownership of the Broad River location, and I was advised it was the same chef so based upon my previous experience, the chef is truly gifted and has an amazing craft, but poor Customer service will always outweigh the entire experience. as you could see, I had planned to do a video food review because I was so excited and even invited some friends to come and dying with us. Sadly, this experience was horrible and I was totally embarrassed for even recommending them as a reputable establishment.

The view of the booth tables by the window would also make for a great view when the street is busy with ample people watching. Great experience, would definitely recommend. Take note, they do not take reservations so either come early or allow time to wait.

We arrived on time for our 7 pm reservation for a Saturday night to celebrate our anniversary. The hostess said it would be 10 minutes for our table. 25 minutes later we were finally seated. (BTW, we passed 4 empty tables on the way to ours.) The menu choices are very limited. We ordered a drink and the crabcake appetizer. The sauce that came with it was very spicy. Our entrees took over an hour to come. The bread that came with them was stone cold. My husband had shrimp and grits. He said it was okay. I had a crawfish penne pasta dish. Only ate half of it. Service was very, very slow. Lots of staff in and out and delivering food to other tables but we only occasionally saw our waitress. Won't be going back. read more
