It also states that you may be charged. They should take out the maybe to you WILL. There's zero compassion for healthcare work or people who get Covid. However they can make money off you they will. They seem to have a growing them of making you come back "another day" to collect on the office visit fees. The staff are beyond rude and have zero regard for anyone's situation or admitting fault. This place took a turn for the worst. Went in about a year ago and was told I had a cavity, dr Tunzi came in and said I had to be back next week to get a filling without explaining at all the situation with my tooth.. ended up going back the next week to a very unfriendly dr tunzi, while he proceeded to roughly yank around my mouth. When he finished the filling on my molar I noticed it it was the bulkiest and pokiest filling I've ever had.. I brought up the fact that it didn't blend onto my tooth and he grumpily replied it'll be fine.. about a month later the filling fell out leaving the corner of my molar drilled out almost to the base of the tooth. It's finally beginning to get really sensitive and I now have to schedule a fixing appointment for the tooth. Not to mention.. the office rudely began calling my parents to pay the bill, although I'm 29 on my own insurance they insisted my parents pay or I get sent to collections... all in all it's an awful experience at this office and I'd never recommend anyone I respect to get dental work done here. I've been going to this office for a few years now and could not be happier. Don't get me wrong, I am no fan of going to the dentist, but it needs to be done. Dr. Tunzi is very honest in the work that he advises and does. He also has the most gentle hands (esp when it comes to getting the local anesthetist injection). I would say the staff in the front was a little bit confusing to communicate with when I arrived---but it's a pandemic, and they are trying their best, so I will give them the benefit of the doubt. I also had my teeth cleaning with Anik recently, and she was wonderful. Very respectful of my needs and communicated throughout the entire process to make sure I was feeling okay since I am pregnant. I don't write reviews often but when I do, it's because a review was deserved not only for the person/organization but for you the reader. Mind you, I am not a fan of pain and I don't visit the dentist as often as I should because of it. I saw Dr. Tunzi for the first time today under urgent circumstances. The staff (Laura & Christine) were polite and professional. The property and office were really clean with a magnificent view of the western horizon. Dr. Tunzi performed the procedure (what I thought for sure would be a a painful bloodbath), on my tooth with great precision and care. Contrary to my expectations, Dr. Tunzi explained each step that he was about to perform. He was very calm, relaxed and professional throughout the process which intern caused me to be more calm and relaxed. This experience was so good, that I chose to schedule a follow-up for regular dental maintenance. I would easily recommend Dr. Tunzi to my friends and family. I found Dr.Tunzi's office through blue cross suggestions since I have limited coverage (which is basically nothing) through them for insurance. Went in for a cleaning and xrays and all the dentists were extremely thorough with their process. So I kind of hate going to the dentist and have some lingering trauma from previous experiences as a child. I happened to have a couple small cavities and went back a couple months later to treat them, not looking forward to it. In the end it was probably the best dental experience I've ever had. Teeth are annoying little guys. We depend on them daily and yet they are high maintenance and more expensive than a gold digger princess. Even those with dental insurance can attest to the moans and groans of dental bills. I DON'T have dental insurance and basically live with teeth pain and issues until there is no getting around the fact that I have to get some help. I've been living with a chunk of a molar missing and excruciating pain for months. Luckily, I was a step ahead of some folks as I already know the tooth in question that is causing the pain versus having no idea what is going on in my mouth. I initially called Dr. Tunzi's office to determine my next steps. I explained to the receptionist that a chunk of my tooth is missing (that I probably need a root canal) and that I am in extreme pain. I explained my financial situation that I am unemployed with no insurance but do have a Care Credit account for dental work (they accept Care Credit here). The receptionist was extremely caring and not just on a professional level. She was truly sympathetic to my situation, tried to calm me, and didn't just treat me in a clinical manner. She said she would personally talk to Dr. Tunzi to see if we could take one X-ray versus multiples being that I am low on funds and I know which tooth is causing my issue. She called back saying Dr. Tunzi suggests a consultation and X-ray but we could take one and use Care Credit. I went ahead and made an appointment. I then received another call pointing out that the receptionist looked up my Care Credit account and there were issues which prompted me to give Care Credit a call. I applaud DR. Tunzi's office for truly caring about all aspects and in an efficient manner. I arrived to a clean, modern, and lovely office with warm colors and plush chairs. The receptionist (there were two on duty) was super kind and happy to meet in person. Of course I had to fill out paperwork but the wait wasn't long at all (10 min, max). This wasn't an hour long waiting session like most offices. I was led to the examination room which is also very modern and has spectacular views of Burbank and the Verdugo mountains through floor to ceiling windows. It is an amazing office. The dental assistant followed the trend of super friendly customer service (the staff here makes you feel like family even though it was my first time). She took a photo ( which pops up on a screen) and a X-ray which also is immediately viewable per a laptop. And this isn't an old-fashioned clunky X-Ray -- this was a simple camera in your mouth deal. Super easy and fast. Dr. Tunzi then arrived and introduced himself to discuss my situation. He was kind and knowledgeable and thoroughly explains everything regarding your case. It turns out I need a root canal and a crown. Sadly, Dr. Tunzi doesn't do root canals on molars so I have to see an endodontist and then return to Dr. Tunzi for the crown. Dr. Tunzi based everything on my budget and personal situation which I appreciated. The consultation was very quick but satisfactory. Not to mention it was $95 which is great as opposed to other dentists in the area whom on average wanted to charge $300 for the consultation and X-ray. The crown was estimated by Dr. Tunzi to be about $900 (again, I have no insurance so this is full cost and not a deductible). A pleasant side note? A few days later, I received a handwritten card in the mail from Dr. Tunzi welcoming me to his office. I found this to not only be great marketing and customer service on a business level; but personally made me feel good in this terrible situation. Regarding parking: Dr. Tunzi's office has a private lot charging a flat rate of $3.00. However, they validate with a token so it is free. Dr. Tunzi's office is modern, efficient, caring, and affordable in terms of dental care (and again: they accept Care Credit). Teeth are a major (and expensive) pain in the neck (or should I say, mouth?) but Dr. Tunzi is definitely recommended for those seeking a dentist in the Burbank/Valley area. read more

First visit and I am really impressed with this Dr. Tunzi and his staff. My dental insurance changed and I was forced to look for a new dentist after going to the same dentist for the last 14 years. A good friend of mine referred me and I am really happy she did. I can't think of anything that could be improved at this office. All the staff are so professional, skillful and organized. They mailed me all the forms to fill out prior to my appointment. When I arrived I only waited a couple minutes and then I was off for x-rays with Denise. They have a new x-ray technology where you can see your x-rays pop up immediately on the lap top in front of you. No developing necessary. Then Annika took me to her chair for a very thorough teeth cleaning. She checked the x-rays and noticed a couple areas that might need attention and noted them for Dr. Tunzi. Then she proceeded to do a great job cleaning and checking my teeth. She also checked my gums to make sure they were in good shape. Dr. Tunzi came by at the end to do a very thorough exam. He checked all previous fillings and crowns, the x-rays, did a cancer screening exam and checked each tooth individually. All was well with my teeth and gums, so no other treatment was needed. The office is on the 6th floor and the view is beautiful. It is easy to get to and is one block above Glenoaks on Olive Avenue. Parking is free. The staff will give you a token when you are ready to leave. Otherwise it would be a flat rate of $3.00. read more

Over that time I have received nothing but consistently good care both from Dr. Tunzi but also the whole office staff, many of whom have been there a long time. I am so sad my insurance changed making me unable keep Dr. Tunzi as my dentist. I went to two other dental offices before coming here both were terrible; so it was so amazing to find a dentist like Jack Tunzi. One time I was in the office while he was on the phone arguing with an insurance company for his patient over a pervious dentist paperwork mistake that was preventing his patient from getting the care she needed. That's the kind of doctor you want. He hygienist were always amazing and informative. They truly care about the work they are doing here. He is great because he explains everything to you as or before he's doing it, letting you know how things will feel, how long it will take, how much longer until he's done, etc. It makes you feel more at easy with any procedure because you're not sitting their inventing things and thinking the worst. Very competent, attentive, and thorough. AND THE BEST PART is the way he administers injections. I hate shots. BUT.... he gives the shots soooo slowly that you don't even feel the "pinch" of a normal one. Yes, it's weird to have a shot take a full minute as opposed to 5 seconds, but you don't feel it at all! Kind, Sincere & Professional! First of all, they honor your appointment time and don't leave you waiting for 20 plus minutes before seeing you. I had to find another dentist since my dentist I've been going to for over 10 years was retiring. I loved him and was hesitant to find someone new. After some research, I thought I found someone similar with Jack Tunzi especially with all the 5 stars - no less. It turned out to be a big mistake. Firstly, the building is located in a highrise and you have to either pay for parking space or park in the neighborhood for free but wasn't as close by and the office was on a very busy street and a bit hard to find. Secondly, when I went in, the staff seemed nice but for some reason, it felt off. It was extremely quiet and people went about like robots (?). I don't know the vibe was just off - like they worked there but no one was interested in being there yet they forced themselves to be extremely nice. It was just off. The people there seemed like they had to put up pretenses. Lastly, I went in for a simple procedure and after a few months, it took a turn for the worst. I had so much pain from my mouth, I had to take days off from work. In the end, I had to go to another dentist who performed the same procedure but he didn't bill me because he said the previous procedure was done incorrectly. I'm so grateful for him. He's my new dentist and I've been going to him at least 3 times now with no issues. Lesson learned, I will take every "5 star" establishment with a grain of salt and read ALL the reviews - even the ones they don't want you to read. Unfortunately, I didn't see those reviews. I can't believe its taking me this long to write a review. As cliche as it sounds "I don't like going to the dentist". But after countless dental offices where I have made an appt. and never returned, I have found a dental office that I hope to go to until Dr. Tunzi retires. From the front receptionist/scheduler, to the hygienist, to Dr. Tunzi himself the entire experience was pain free and overall a wonderful experience. Everyone is so nice and friendly. Damn! I was going to write this review 6 months ago at my last checkup but was too lazy and now someone else got to be first - oh well. I just had a checkup this week. Let me preface by saying I HATE the dentist. I'm not scared about pain, but I'm very claustrophobic and hate people touching me so it's always an unpleasant experience. Its become worse for me since they moved their practice from Glendale to Burbank a few years ago. The old office might have been more dilapidated, but it was huge and open (they shared space). Now it's in the 6th floor of a medical building with nice views but the space itself seems so small in comparison. But even with my woes, I've stuck around with this place for 7-8 years now because Dr. Tunzi and all his staff are very professional and well-organized, they don't try to sell you any unnecessary procedures, and all my visits are quick and fairly painless. I was about to say they are really patient even though they don't see many 'dental cowards', but let me rephrase that. Wendy, the dental hygenist, is super patient with me and always makes me feel at ease. Thanks Wendy. Dr. Tunzi, while cool, is all business. What do I mean? Well, the first time I went in I had 7+ cavities to fill (it had been a few years since I had been to a dentist because of the fear). I started wimpering/avoiding the needle to numb my mouth and Dr. Tunzi straight out said, 'I'm not going to talk you into anything. Either you want to do this now or you don't and you can leave'. From that day I always tell my husband ' Dr/ Tunzi doesn't play games!!!'. But he isn't really mean or anything, just like I said, he's ALL business, which in the end I like because I know he is going to do everything quick and efficient. Prior to me going to Dr. Tunzi I had not been to the dentist in 10 years! I know that's bad but I had really bad past experiences at dental offices. I actually found Dr. Tunzi through 1-800 dentist, I indicated my fears and concerns and they suggested Dr. Tunzi. I am so happy they did. He is thee most gentle dentist, he explains what he is doing every step of the way, and I BARELY feel the needle when he gives me my shots which is a plus for me because that was one of my fears. I recently had to have a filling and a cap that went really well; the next day I got a call from Dr. Tunzi checking on me to make sure everything was fine! His staff is also very nice. Cindy is my hygienist and she is great! I have recommended Dr. Tunzi to some of my co-workers who have also gone to him and received the same professional, caring treatment. I left my dentist of almost 20 years Dr. Manny Macias (around 2016) because he was actually not in my network so I found a dentist that was, Jack Tunzi D.D.S. in Burbank. I missed Dr. Macias but Tunzi seemed like an okay guy and good dentist. In 2017 I unfortunately had to have 2 root canals, and my insurance covered almost nothing for the 2nd one. I had 2 huge bills, one from Tunzi and the other from the endodontist Dr. Douglas Dawes. I paid off Dr. Dawes and missed a payment for Tunzi in the month of November. I called about 10 times to make a payment in December and it seems they had closed up shop pretty early for the Holidays. I find out AFTER the Holidays, Tunzi has sent my bill to a collections agency. In the 20 + years I was a patient of Dr. Manny Macias, he never once sent a bill that was behind slightly to collections. yes Tunzi is a good dentist, but a miserable human being, that puts money ahead of caring for his patients. He wrote me a nasty letter (dated Jan 5, 2018) which I received today, almost 2 weeks after the letter was written. The bill is 100% paid, and Tunzi suggests that I find another provider of dental care, since I was late on my bill. I measure all of my medical care providers with their ability to be compassionate and caring, and found Tunzi isn't one of them and had NO intention of ever going back to him. He's a miserable greedy pr#ck, who I wouldn't recommend to anyone, unless you're rich like he is. I'd rather be with a George Bailey type any day, Tunzi lives in Potterville.
