Dave, owner ofPederson's LLC PLUMMING came out last night to check on our leaking hot water tank. We discussed the needs and he gave me a quote. He was going to return in the morning at 9:00 to install it. He also told me the cost and informed we can make two monthly payments if we wanted to. The next morning our doorbell rang at 8:00. I did not see Dave but there were three other at the door along with two large service trucks. I told them they were an hour early and one of them said they were able to get here an hour early. By 9:00 or so they were done. A little while later Dave, who was here last night said another company found out and jumped ahead of Dave and (in my words) literly stole the job from Dave. This other company misrepresented themselves and interestingly never gave us a price. Later Dave showed up to apologize what happened. In essence the other company misrepresented it self which can be construed as fraud and mis-representation. I would think the contractors board would take an interest in this.

They didn't charge for the service call and had an estimator, Omar, out here the same day. He laid out all the options and we chose our new HVAC. They scheduled our install for the following week, which is unheard of in this post-pandemic world. Randolph and Bryan showed up on time and were quick in their work. They completed the install and clean up by early afternoon and took measurements for a new custom door to cover the HVAC system. Today Andrey came to install the custom door. He was also quick, efficient, knowledgeable and friendly. In fact, everyone involved from start to finish was top notch. The entire process only took three weeks, as compared to five months to replace a broken garage door in 2021 and a year to replace our kitchen in 2022. We already trusted Air Stars because we had them install Mitsubishi ductless units 18 months ago in our granny unit (to replace baseboard and wall heaters and to add A/C). We are very pleased with Air Stars and would recommend them.

The decided to clear out a different part of the line such that water was barely flowing. Upon having to come out the second time (6 days later) when the house was backed up again, they found where the real issue was - exactly where I said it would be. They didn't have the right camera equipment to diagnose the issue and took the easiest approach to maximize their hourly rate. Their initial receipt said "30 day warranty" on the work. However, they charged full price to come out the second time. $550 for the first time, $750 for the second visit when he *actually* fixed the problem by popping the toilet. They should have either done the job correctly the first time, or honored their work warranty (which included diagnosing where an issue is) and reduced how much the second charge was. Just expect that they will do poor work the first time they come out to get your system in minimum working order just so they can bang you again shortly after. I would hire a different plumber that knows how to do the job correctly.

Mr. Rooter advertises flat-rate pricing rather than hourly charges; if that is truly the case and prices are not determined arbitrarily, why are your flat-rate prices not available anywhere online? Additionally, your technician serviced an elderly woman's home and charged an excessive amount for the work performed. This is deeply concerning. Shame on your business for engaging in such practices.

Jessica let me know that was no problem, they could send someone out Monday morning. She wasn't sure what time, possibly between 10 and 11 but they would call me before arriving. I missed the call from Nicole while in the shower, but she followed up by a text to make sure I knew Jonathan would be here within 35 minutes. I love this attention to customer service. Jonathan showed up as scheduled and took a look at my water heater and assessed what my issue was which was low water pressure at the kitchen faucet and he informed me that I did not need a new water heater, which was a big relief. Jonathan is the one that helped me with my hose bib and just as last time he was very friendly and knowledgeable. He identified the issue as likely some buildup in the line at the kitchen faucet. He was able to back-flush the line and found a small chunk of rust from my lovely steel pipes. It had gotten stuck and caused sediment buildup. Water pressure restored, no water heater replacement needed (phew) and I am back in business! I love their cost structure because it's not by the hour. It's by the job and what they do, etc. and I find that to be extremely reasonable.
