Tom came by to check out our furnace today. After changing the filter last week, I found that the power would turn on but it would turn off after a couple minutes. Tom had 3 other jobs before us, but when he finished early he gave us a call saying that he'll be able to come earlier. He arrived right on time, put on shoe covers to make sure our floors are kept clean, and went straight to work. In about 5 minutes he was able to figure out the cause, and after 15minutes he was able to fix it. The job was done right and the price was fair. He knows his stuff and even our 20+yr old furnace. Tom is very professional and you can just tell he enjoys fixing things. read more

I wish I could write about a similar experience as others have, but my experience with this company has been less than stellar. I contacted him prior to Christmas for a second opinion on a furnace. Originally, I was told the furnace needed to be replaced but Priority said it was an issue regarding airflow. At this time I am still unsure as to what the actual problem is as no work has been done. It was not an emergency nor urgent but it did take him over four weeks to finally get to our house. There were missed appointments, a lack of follow through and very poor communication. He missed a scheduled appointments, missed stopping by on a Saturday as he had promised and had issues with a broken windshield that prevented him from showing up. The problem has not been resolved as yet but I have decided to tackle the problem myself. I will pay the invoice he sent me today but will not be calling him again. While my issue was not an emergency, it still deserved an appropriate response like any other customer would receive. UPDATE: Two minutes after posting this review I have both a text message and a voicemail from the company asking to resolve the issue. I wish this offer had come sometime during the previous month during which I've had no contact from him at all. read more

This is a great small business that focuses on the customer. My furnace went out. Tom was able to squeeze me in the same day. He showed up exactly when he said he would. He had the problem resolved in 15 minutes. It was a common problem and he kept a stock of the required parts in his truck. Overall I found Tom to be both professional and personable. We will definitely be keeping his number by the furnace for future HVAC service. read more

It's 10:00pm. Your basement utility room and carpet are flooded with water and upon removal of the front plate to your furnace, you find two inches of standing water. Your next step will possibly change the course of your week and the balance of your bank account. What do you do? Call Tom! Seriously, don't mess around with fancy websites from other HVAC providers, Tom is your man. He walked me through everything over the phone to identify what was happening and if anything was at immediate risk. That's peace of mind. He showed up the next day and quickly knocked out a Hot Water Heater install and even fixed some sub-par venting work previously performed by another service professional. read more

*NOTE: i am only giving this company 4 stars out of 5 because i do NOT want this review to be filtered out by yelp's algorithm that tosses too many 5 star reviews for this company.* there are few stand up guys in the service industry, and i assure you, tom is one of them. the water heater in the home my partner owns, has been on the fritz for over a year due to lack of maintenance between the previous owners and ourselves. i had more than one company perform an inspection and offer a quote for a new water heater plus installation, but tom came out and charged us NOTHING to just verify the kind we needed and confirm if what we needed would even fit in the home after i got estimates and information from other contractors. since the developer left so little space for any upgraded or new units to fit in the utility closet, tom went above and beyond to research what we could replace our high BTU water heater with, called all his known suppliers, came up with a quote that beat all the others i'd received in price, and gave me multiple payment options to get the work completed. my partner was out of the country and especially difficult to reach during this entire process, not to mention unnecessarily picky and indecisive with every piece of information i relayed from tom, contributing to a lot of delays and back and forth. i understand large purchases for your home warrant some stress and skepticism, but through it all, tom was patient, kind, informative, PROFESSIONAL and EXTREMELY generous with his time. i even told him i was shocked he hadn't kicked us to the curb! i do not recommend our missteps in this process, but i do highly recommend tom and priority heating. he fulfilled every expectation of 5 star service and was always willing to accommodate me as a client with honesty and candor. thanks tom for being one of the lone good guys in a sea of con artists. read more

Tom was great when our AC unit stopped working and got a new one installed in less than 48 hours. The coupon was great to get the heater serviced in preparation for the winter. When the heater stopped working a few days later he was available over text to help try and pinpoint the issue. read more

I rarely have great things to say about contractors, as I've had a lot of bad experiences. However, Tom was really great and will be my first call next time I need Heating or A/C work. He responded to my call right away (he may have even picked up the phone right when I called, I can't remember), spent THIRTY minutes with me on the phone going through my problem to better understand all of the issues before coming out. Seriously, who spends 30 minutes on the phone for a free consultation? Tom, that's who. Then, he came out the next day, ON TIME, and after looking at a few things, gave me a quote to fix our problem. He and his associate (apprentice?) got the work done more quickly than expected, so he charged me LESS than he had quoted me. Seriously, this is the fairest and most legit company I've ever had the pleasure of dealing with. Thanks Tom! read more

The central air conditioning system for my condo had died. I called three highly-rated HVAC companies and got bids. Among the three, only Tom from Priority climbed up on the roof of the building to examine the unit. Only Tom from Priority followed up with a phone call. Only Tom from Priority included three year's of labor in his warranty instead of one. Only Tom from Priority exhibited a sincerity and passion for the job. Only Tom from Priority got the job. Tom and his assistant, Miguel, showed up yesterday exactly on time, did the job with expertise, hustle and humor, cleaned up the entire work site, and left me with a feeling of confidence that I'd made the right choice to replace my AC system. Five stars for Tom and Priority Heating & Air Conditioning. read more

Tom has been working on our unit for a few years. A few years ago when we had a motor burnout and leak he completely rebuilt the ac unit instead of just replacing it with a new one to save us a bunch of money and the thing worked wonderfully. Just recently, after the girl above us water heater broke, he came out immediately to check the furnace, immediately ordered parts and had the thing up and running within a day. He is always on time, willing to work around your schedule and never looks for the most expensive option. I highly recommend him. read more

Tom is passionate about his work. We've used Tom for service and for installation of a new furnace and air conditioner. We found Tom to service our older furnace and air conditioner after another company said they were too old to service (even though they were in working condition). We really appreciated the fact that he did not give us a hard sell to replace the system in the house we had recently purchased. A year and a half later we decided it was time to finally replace the furnace and air conditioner. We got three bids and Tom's was most competitive and we already knew him and trusted him. Tom installed a new furnace, air conditioner and humidifier. He made a good recommendation for an air conditioner that would suit our space restrictions. He fine tuned the system and corrected an issue with an incorrectly sized furnace . We now are enjoying quiet, warm and efficient 2-stage heating. It is really quite the upgrade from our 23 years old system. Priority is a small business. I notice some reviewers reported negative experiences with scheduling. Schedule a few weeks out for regular maintenance. It was a cold winter and a lot of HVAC folks were seriously busy on emergency calls. *NOTE: i am only giving this company 4 stars out of 5 because i do NOT want this review to be filtered out by yelp's algorithm that tosses too many 5 star reviews for this company.* read more

Tom recently installed a new furnace and AC for us while cleaning up some nonsensical duct work from the previous install. He was always great to deal with (even when I wasn't as prompt in returning his phone calls as I should have been) and incredibly professionall. All of the work was done on time and exactly as promised. Even when some of the install ended up being a bit more complicated he stuck to the price on the initial proposal. I would highly recommend Priority for all of your HVAC needs. read more

We had a 15+ year old furnace. As much as I didn't want to believe it, after several estimates, it was clear that it was time for a new one. And, it was the dead of winter. Tom came one night and the furnace was replaced the next day. I hope to be able to use his services again. read more

Had a great experience with Tom, the owner. My AC unit had been freezing up. I called another company and it was like a 4 year wait for service (slight exaggeration lol). But Tom was able to stop by in between other service calls within 2 hours. very personable and professional. He talked me through and showed me what the likely problem was and the best steps to address it. Prices were very fair and service was prompt and efficent. nothing felt shady or beyond comprehension as some companies are apt to do when it comes to more technical issues. He didn't try to up sell me on a new AC unit, but was also honest that the fixes we are attempting may not take. (re-charging the R22 in the unit and injecting leak-stop as well as some other tune-ups). great experience. read more

Tom was great and ended up resolving an issue (and cleaning up after) that my previous HVAC company couldn't get to the bottom of (and also cost me a lot of money trying different things). Highly recommend his work. On top of it, he is actually is a nice guy and provides you with as much information as you like. Definitely worth getting him involved if you want your problem fixed right. Tom always comes through. Whether it is the furnace, the AC or the thermostat, he makes time, comes over the same day and takes care of the problem. I've used Tom for about 6 years. He is on time. his prices are fair and he gets the job done right the first time. I wish all the contractors were like Tom. read more

Phenomenal repair tech. Identified and repaired the problem within 3 hours of original call. Also, did not try to upsell a new unit. Honest and reasonably priced. read more

I called Priority Heating on Sunday at noon to see if they could come over to check my furnace, it had stopped working the day before. Tom came over around 3:00 and had my heat working by 4:00. Great guy, extremely knowledgeable and a master at his craft. I just looked on the internet for the closest company and got lucky. He will be back this week to clean and service the furnace as it needs it bad. He knows everything about heating and air conditioning . I was extremely impressed! I would highly recommend Priority ! It was a pleasure working with Tom. The appointment was done the same day, and the problem was also resolved the same day. Payment was easy, used quick pay, but he also accepts credit card and cash. Keep up the good work! read more

Always quality work and fair prices. Tom is very helpful and trustworthy. I've been a customer for almost 4 years.

Priority Heating & Air Conditioning is fabulous. We found Tom after having problems with our furnace and AC and not getting things fixed with another company. Tom is incredibly responsive, detailed, and honest. His work is great, and he is both prompt and reliable. One additional plus is that he sends coupons twice a year to ready your furnace/AC for the season. I highly recommend him! read more

Tom is great! Always prompt regardless of what we need. He installed all the work during our house renovation, and continues to follow up.

Tom (the owner) and Tim came out to diagnose our leaky unit. With it being old enough to need replacing soon anyway, we opted to do a full replacement of our A/C, furnace and humidifier. Things I especially appreciated about Priority's service: -quick service: they got to us right away, even though it was a big job in the middle of hot summer season -clear communication: they provided us with a clear understanding of the details of our problem as well as our detailed options for fixing or replacing (including the cost of each). I felt as though he was very honest and straightforward, as well as patient with our many questions. -quality installation: as they installed they explained some of the details of the installation and why they made the choices they did. Tom has worked in the industry for a long time and really knows the business, so while our installation is new I'm confident in the quality of it. It was also very clear that if we had any issues he stands behind his work and would resolve it accordingly. I would highly recommend Priority Heating and Air Conditioning to anyone looking for help with a repair or installation. Feel free to message me if you have any questions about my experience; I am happy to serve as a reference. read more

When my furnace suddenly stopped working this winter I was able to reach Tom at 8pm mid week. I was able to schedule an appointment with him for the following morning. When it turned out the problem was more involved and required installation of a new furnace 4 days later he clearly explained my options and recommended the best furnace for my home. My new furnace heats my home much more efficiently with much less noise (added bonus). I've recommended Priority Heating & Air Conditioning to my neighbors and friends. read more

Tom came through during the heat wave. Most companies were quoting 2-3 days to show up. Tom showed up 3 hours after we spoke. To echo other comments, Tom was extremely detailed during his evaluation of my AC unit. He got it up and running within an hour. I highly recommend Tom...in 12 years of working with other companies such as Four Seasons, Tom far exceeded any other company that previously performed repairs. read more

I had an issue with my furnace at 4:30pm on a Sunday with 6" of snow on the ground and Tom was at my condo by 5:30pm. Super quick, professional, and knowledgable. He's the first HVAC person I've ever recommended. Great guy, great service. read more

Called Tom in the early afternoon and he was at my place around 4pm that day. Great service, very knowledgeable and experienced. Explained my options and what needed to be done in the long term. Tom provided great affordable, professional, and prompt service when my AC went out. He also reviewed a previous persons work who scammed me out of $300. He found out what was wrong and the quote he gave me was significantly less than what I lost to repair my heating. Great service! I own a 1 bed condo in Ravenswood for about 2 years. It came with a 16 year old Hv/ac unit. It's worked great for the 2 years and then about 10 day ago started making a rapid clicking noise when the air would power on. My concern with calling some of the other companies was getting gauged on the price since I know nothing about heat/air or getting the hard sell for a new unit considering the age of this one. Found reviews here on yelp looking for companies in my neighborhood. First called Oasis...decent reviews , however NO call back in 24 hours! Then found priority and only 11 reviews, however they seemed sincere and some mentioned Tom. Went with my gut instinct and decided to call them. Tom answered my call on a Tues afternoon and was here Weds morning to look at unit and give me an estimate. He explained everything and as it turned out I needed a new motherboard. (All parts on my 16 yr. old unit were original...and they looked it! lol) He had to go out for the part and was back in less that an hour. It was fixed 15 minutes later. All at a very fair price when you consider the part, labor, service call and travel time for the part...there was no price gauging here, trust me! Hopefully I'll get a few more years outta' the ole' girl! My air is now fixed, but more importantly I found a great company and service tech in Tom that I can call when I have a problem...and when the time comes and he tells me its time to replace, I'll know he's telling me the truth! Trusting a company in this situation is invaluable! Call Priority Heating and Air! read more

I called Tom in the AM, explained my heating problem and he was there by 11:00 AM same day, on New Years Eve no less. He was honest, prompt and very trust worthy. I had my furnace tune up in the fall 2015 from a well known HVAC company, at that time they claimed I needed a new furnace, my furnace was old, had cracks and leaking Carbon Monoxide. Of course they used the sales pitch that they could get someone out same day, within 4 hours. Well, low and behold, turns out none of the issues they told me I had were true, and on top of that they never cleaned the Flame Sensor, which turns out to be the only issue there was. I will use Priority Heating and AC when the time comes to replace the HVAC system. I highly recommend Tom. read more

I called Tom at Priority Heating when air blower motor in the central air unit in our condo started to make loud noises and generate scary blue sparks in the midst of a heat wave, and I couldn't be more pleased with the outcome. Tom answers his mobile phone even when on a job, and when I described my problem he agreed to come over the next morning. He arrived on schedule and immediately diagnosed and fixed the problem. It could have been a major breakdown, but Tom correctly observed that in fact it was a small issue in the electronics which he was able to repair in minutes. He also gave me some good advice on periodic maintenance of our unit, which I followed right away. The charge for all of this was very reasonable. Result was a cool apartment despite the heat wave. I will call Tom at Priority any time our AC unit needs repair as well as for routine maintenance. I can recommend him without reservation. read more
