During this month, abysmal communication not only with me, but between their own staff. They repeatedly scheduled visits without consulting me, leading to rescheduling and delays in repair. When we were able to get an appointment scheduled, they no showed without a courtesy call. I understand jobs run longer than expected, but give me a call to let me know. When I reached out a day later, I was told they would send someone out that day. Again, no show, no call. When I AGAIN called that same day I was assured someone was still coming. No show. No call. I asked to speak to a manager/GM/supervisor at the end of this debacle, to voice my concerns and hopefully resolve them. Believe it or not, no call. So instead, here is a poor review. The actual service technicians were fine, but I would not recommend Anderson to anyone after this nightmare. Two stars for reasonable pricing (gave me small discount for the bullshit) and my problem ultimately being fixed, but I am incredibly unhappy with my experience.

Bryan went WAY above and beyond to make sure he put the correct system in my house and he nailed it. BTW, I am in Richmond, VA. For some reason Yelp is saying I'm in Nags Head lol. My house has a Unico system in it (those of you familiar with it may know how challenging and difficult these systems can be) and it has NEVER worked correctly. I replaced the original heat pump once before and, when the second heat pump died, I was looking for someone who could figure out what I should replace it with. It turns out that, since there have been refrigerant changes, I would need to replace the entire system (heat pump and Unico air handler/furnace). I received one quote essentially just replacing what I already had. That company didn't do too much research and gave me a quote (this is similar to what I had experienced with my last heat pump replacement). I was about to move forward with that company and then thought I should get a second opinion. My friend told me about Bryan and RVA Heating & Cooling and raved about how good he is. Well, he wasn't wrong and I am so happy I didn't go with the other company. Bryan came in and actually figured out the system. He spent time researching and talking to Unico to figure out how to make the system work correctly. In fact, he was able to get Unico to sign off on what size Unico system to use and what heat pump to pair with it. In doing this, it doubled the warranty I would have received otherwise. Another benefit of talking to Unico was that they were able to tell Bryan exactly why the old system wasn't working correctly. It turns out that the ducts weren't set up correctly and that the old system was undersized for the house. The drawback was that Bryan was now going to have to replace the main duct coming off of the air handler and fix some of the other ducts as well. Good thing Bryan is a master at ductwork. In fact, he used to have a company called Bryan's Ducts (I think that is right). What better person to have fix the ducts that someone who actually owned a duct company lol. Bryan had to do much more work that initially expected, but he made sure the system was PERFECT. Here's the kicker, I got a fully replaced air handler, brand new top of the line Trane inverter cold weather heat pump, and new ductwork for essentially the same price I would've paid the other company to put in the same inferior system I had before (cheap heat pump, the wrong size air handler, no ductwork, and no extended warranty). The HVAC system has NEVER worked as well as it does now. I mean it's kinda mind blowing given that I've been in this house for 22 years. You will not go wrong with RVA Heating & Cooling. Don't even bother with contacting the "big guys" around town. All they're going to do is rip you off (believe me, I've been there). I'll happily go with a smaller company that treats you fairly and actually cares about their work. RVA Heating & Cooling is BY FAR the best HVAC company I've worked with. If you need work done, don't think twice and just call Bryan.

We wanted to replace the old thermostat with a new one that we had on hand. We understood we would have to pay for that. He claimed the wire was to short to hook up the additional wire. We have since learned not only was there enough wire but he just did not want to do it. I wish I had his name because now I wonder if he even knew how. I will never recommend this company and hope if I have future requirements that they are not the ones. The company may be good but that tech was not. only 1 star from me because the is forcing it but the tech represents the company while in the field.
