First of all, Thank You Air Nerds for fixing my furnace ignitor. The tech, Brian was friendly and…read moreresolved my issue. However, I truly believe that the charge for the fix was a bit overpriced to replace a $20 part (Found it online). I was charged a total of $450 to replace the ignitor. They first charged me $125 to diagnose the problem (I did tell them prior that I thought it was the ignitor). Brian then said that he would be back later with the ignitor. This is where I made my mistake, I should have asked him the cost to replace it (Or better yet, it would have been nice for Air Nerds to tell me!). This way if I thought it was too high, I could either replace it myself (I replaced it once before but forgot where it was located) or call around for estimates. I do have a heat pump and this was keeping the house warm enough, this was for the gas backup heat. So, Air Nerds did the job but I think $450 was a bit steep for a simple fix. I did search online and it said that this type of fix usually cost between $150 to $350 professionally, including parts ($20-$100) and labor ($75-$150). Anyway, I hope this review helps you decide whether Air Nerds is the way to go! One more note, they did arrive a half hour late! They first asked me if 8am or 9am would work, I told them 8am. After about 20 minutes, I emailed them and they apologized and said that someone was on their way.

Over the last year, I had received a number of estimates to replace my 25 year old dual fuel HVAC…read more(heat pump and gas furnace), which I knew was coming to the end of its useful life. Josh, the owner of IV Air, was the ONLY one who went through every part of my house to get a proper load calculation. I suppose the others just assumed they would replace like with like. The reason that an accurate load calculation is important is twofold: (1) today's equipment is much more efficient than two decades ago, and (2) one should never assume that their current heat pump was properly sized when it was installed way back when. Well, Josh determined that my 4-ton heat pump was way too big (and always had been). He recommended I downsize to a 2.5. Wow! Josh's meticulousness then continued into every aspect of the installation process. There are a lot of HVAC companies out there who just don't care about getting things right. Don't end up with one of them. Call IV Air.

When our HVAC system had issues over a holiday weekend, Joshua responded promptly and had everything up and running in no time. His deep knowledge of the trade was evident, and he took the time to explain our system and offer helpful tips. He was honest, respectful, and fair with his pricing. HVAC problems are never fun, but Joshua made the experience as smooth and stress-free as possible. We highly recommend him to anyone looking for a professional with integrity, strong work ethic, and genuine care for his clients.

I got really sick in January 2024 with Severe Migraines, Severe Coughing, Respiratory Symptoms, Allergy Immunotherapy For 3 years constantly every week my son and I both and could figure out what it was, and several Allergy Medications, I also Fainted Twice! So we did some deep cleaning in our home and discovered that we had a Mold Issue. Contacted my Homeowner Insurance they sent out a HVAC Company this October the Technician immediately asked who installed your Furnace and HVAC system I said Sean at Northstar Heating & Air did back in August 2022 he said ma'am there are Code Violations and your Carbon Monoxide is not out back together I am going to have to shut off the Heat & Hot Water you all have Carbon Monoxide Poisoning in your Home and it has been for at least 2 years you all could have Passed Away " ! He said contact the Fire Department and Columbia Gas Right Away and get them both out here. I would also contact an Attorney. I am so sorry that this Negligence happened to you all. I had no reason to go into the Furnace area to look because I don't know what I am looking at. I am not a HVAC Specialist so I wouldn't no. Contacted Over 25 Attorneys the Statutes of Limitations in Virginia is 2 Years. So there was nothing that an Attorney could do for us. Contacted Northstar the Owner Sean says that I am lying and someone else came out and did it after him. I have pictures and proof & Emergency Room Documentation that states Carbon Monoxide Poisoning. PLEASE DON'T USE THIS COMPANY. BUYERS BEWARE. I HAVE REPORTED THIS COMPANY TO THE BBB. To get this repaired we had to pay another Company over $1,000 to fix this issue and we were without Heat & Hot Water for 2 Weeks. We had Our Air Ducts Cleaned Over $500. I also incurred a $3,500 Hospital Bill. Still have the Coughing at Night.
