I have been visiting NRBJ for a few years now - Jey styled my hair for my graduate school…read moregraduation, my wedding, and the birth of my child. I began my locs in high school, when locs were considered kind of a fringe hairstyle for weirdos and female professional athletes. Because of this, I have had a hard time finding someone I trust to style my hair. I ran into someone at the gym with pretty locs who told me about Jey, and I'm so glad they did. Jey is professional, fast, prompt, and well-versed in her craft. I love the products she uses, leaving my locs moisturized, clean, and smelling fresh following each appointment. Additionally, Jey was knowledgeable in the subject of postpartum hair loss, and encouraged me to NOT freak out when my edges ran off in the first six months postpartum. I am now 15 months pp, and my locs and edges are back in working order under her care. If I ever big chop, I will consult Jey to do so and to care for/maintain my natural hair following.

I've been going to Moshi Moshi for over 3 years and I'm always happy with my results when I leave…read morethe salon. I don't have one particular stylist because my haircut is pretty simple. I would say it is on the more expensive side but I only go a few times a year and I'm happy to pay a bit more for quality and to support a local business. I appreciate that they keep notes about what I have asked for in the past and what I like. The location in Golden Belt is a bit tucked away but you can always ask the security guard. The studio itself is small and funky. During COVID it was only one client at a time because the studio is so small and they are still keeping with mask requirements which I appreciate. I would say the only downside is that parking has gotten crazy in Golden Belt with so many new businesses moving in that it can be hard to find a spot especially during lunch time. You might consider grabbing a spot on Morning Glory instead of trying to park in the Golden Belt lot.

I can't recommend this place highly enough!…read more Due to wrist surgery, I was unable to thoroughly shampoo my hair and scalp and in desperation asked Lotus Salon and Spa for just a shampoo. I'm an old swimmer and jock and don't mind walking around with wet hair, especially as built-in cooling in the heat lately, lol, plus I'm retired and no longer have to be camera-ready -- hooray! And wow, what a GREAT shampoo! Absolutely amazing, just like my mother would do for her girls when we were growing up. A lovely scalp massage was part of it, and really thorough cleaning and conditioning. Point one, I can't believe it only cost $20. And point two, I'm sure my mother was looking down from heaven, so pleased that her tomboy daughter was finally taking care of herself like the lady she always hoped I would be, herself having gone to the "beauty parlor" once a week for a wash and set. Sorry, mom, I'll be back to my basic self-care routines again soon, but this time, thanks to Lotus Salon and Spa, I'll kinda miss being a well-tended lady for a while.

I'm leaving a mixed review because while the haircuts were fantastic and I absolutely loved both…read morethe stylists, the administrative side of this salon was a complete headache. I specifically called to book the March Special, even clarifying this with the receptionist on the phone. Despite that, they booked me for regular haircuts and blow-dry instead. The issues only grew from there: * Pricing Discrepancy: The math on my initial $139 invoice didn't add up ($62 + $67 = $129). * Credit Card Error: The computer system showed one price when I paid, but my credit card was actually charged a different, higher amount. * Retrofitting the Math: When I pointed out the $139 total didn't match the $129 in services, I was sent a new invoice that suddenly included tax to justify the original $139. It felt like they were reverse-engineering the total by adding tax after the fact to make the numbers 'work.' I have never had tax added like that on any hair services. The salon offered to honor the special on a future visit, but since I'm from out of town, that doesn't help resolve the current overcharge. It's a shame because the talent in the chair is top-tier, but the lack of transparency and handling of the mishap were very disappointing. If you go for the great stylists, double-check your booking and your bank statement!"
