Ive been going to Sunni for haircuts for the last year. I get a dry cut, no wash no style, and the…read moreprice was $30. I called to make an appointment and was told Sunni was away for a long period of time but another stylist could take care of me. She did the exact same thing that Sunni did but charged me $90. $90 for dry cut in Oakwood? I was floored. No one mentioned prior that there was a price change or a new owner so I was caught totally off guard and had to whip out a credit card to pay. A lot of excuses were given but no offer to reduce the fee. Ive called and asked for the owner to call me but I doubt I will hear back because the whole conversation with the receptionist sounded very sketchy. I may have to dispute the charge to get anywhere with it. Be aware and beware of going here especially without asking a whole lot of questions. If I hear back Ill post an update. This is not a good way for new owners to start out. They will definitely lose my business and WILL NOT recommend them to anyone else.

Super friendly hairstylist and Sunny is the best! Always gave me quality washes, cuts, and styles. However, today when I got charged more than usual, I asked why to make sure I wasn't being overcharged. They realized I was accidentally charged for a haircut too which I didn't get and thought it was going to go back down to my normal price but it didn't so I was confused. As the website said a different price than what was showing. When they explained it's because they just increased the price, I understood as I knew they got new hairstylists. Then I started to Venmo my regular hairstylist and out of the blew the owner said I could go outside and do that. Then she started yelling in my face and told me to get out of her store or she was calling the cops. Shocked, I started walking out as I was deeply concerned as she sounded like she lost her mind and the other customers waiting were shocked as well. From outside the door, I asked if I could still leave my hairstylist a tip as I didn't know what to do or react. The owner came out and called me CHEAP and told me if I didn't like to new price, don't come back eventhough I already paid and understood at this point. I was silent. Then she said to never come back. I was humiliated and sad as I love this salon and being a loyal customer, I can't come back all because I didn't want to be overcharged. I felt verbally attacked and I will stay clear of this owner.

I grew out my hair for 2-3 months to be a decent length to be cut a style but this is insane. The person who cut my hair is named kimmy. She is a bit older and has glasses, kinda on the plumper side. She was the only one free and I gave her a try but this is really bad. I wish I can give zero stars and I wish I took action there but I rather everyone else that works there not receive her karma. I'll put an after with the photo of what I wanted. You can be the judge yourself. My hair was Atleast triple this length. And to the people that asked why I didn't stop her earlier. I can't see without my glasses. Secondly when working on the sides they have to be short. Third if kimmy cared she would have asked to show the back of my hair also to Atleast let me see. I paid 15 dollars plus a 2 dollar tip. The lowest tip I've ever gave. Hopefully this is a fair warning. Do not let kimmy touch your head. Anyone else is fine.

She styled my hair for all of my proms and homecomings (5 total) and each time my hair held up perfectly. Even after I woke up the next morning my up-do was still in tact. Ellen has done such a great job with my hair cuts as well. She has such a great memory about how I style my hair so unless I am changing my style I do not have to tell her how I want my hair cut. When I do try something new, she always does an awesome job! Lastly, Ellen is so friendly and truly cares about her clients. She has taken the time, on multiple occasions, to teach me how to do a particular hair style- the latest was how to get the loose curl look. She didn't just run through fast instructions and send me on my way; instead she walked me through the process step-by-step while actually showing me how to do it.
