Just went for the first time and Van was amazing. My nails look so perfect it's exactly what I asked for. I have gotten dip at other places and I hate when it's super thick. This place is absolutely filthy. They do not sterilize equipment after use either. (And yes, I will be calling the board of health!) I went on Saturday for the first time and I won't be going back. No real need to schedule an appointment, there is never a long wait, the longest I've waited was approximately five minutes. My favorite nail salon in Stoneham. My best friend and I always go here for manicures, pedicures, and eyebrow waxing. They know us by name and are always accommodating with or without a reservation. The color selection has widened over the past few years and they continue to rearrange the space to make it feel more open. Their pedicure is one of my favorites around. I wish I wasn't writing this review as I have read better reviews for this place. I went in so excited to try this place out and I am extremely disappointed. I am actually going somewhere else to take off the deep powder. I came in for a pedicure which was good and a gel manicure, I was talked into getting a deep powder (never tried before) and was promised it would look like the polish used on my toes. Truthfully this is the worst experience I have ever had. My nails are short, but they look all uneven, they were not properly filed, she did my cuticles while they were dry (no soaking at all) after the deep powder, the deep powder color looks nothing like the nail polish I picked, all the deep powder is uneven around the edges and closer to the cuticle, the color has a lot of bubbles, there is left over residue everywhere and my skin is very dry. I should have said something before I left, but all I wanted to do is cry. I'm never worried about the price, this place definitely wanted to make the extra $10 instead of providing exactly what you want as a customer. I paid, tipped, left and I will never be back. I absolutely love this place. AFter moving to the area over 2 years ago and jumping around to different places, because I am one of those picky nail ladies, I found my place. Lynn the owner is so talented with shaping and nail care in general. She always suggests what is best for your nails and health and can do anything you want to a T in the nail shaping department. I have been going to Lee and her girls for years now. Princess Nails is a staple to the community of Stoneham. They are affordable, accommodating and great hours! They are open 7 days a week for those individuals who live crazy busy lives. They are kind and genuinely care about your satisfaction with any and all of their services they offer. I have been able to grow my nails out to a long, healthy length thanks to their care and work. I have yet to ever leave their salon dissatisfied with any of their services. There are about a million nail salons in Stoneham, but I find myself returning to princess nails over and over again. Here's why: 1. They are fast, cheap and do a pretty good job most of the time. A manicure is $12. A pedicure is $25. Or you can get both for $35. 2. They have awesome massage chairs if you're going to get a pedicure. 3. Most of the time you can walk right in with out an appointment and get your nails done right away. I think the longest I have ever waited was about 10 minutes. And did I mention they are fast? The only negatives to this place are the following: 1. The service is very impersonal. They are fast but sometimes it feels like they are going to fast just to get you done and move on to the next customer. If you're going for pampering, I'd recommend going somewhere else. 2. They often speak in Vietnamese to each other and if you have a complex, like me, you're always wondering if they are talking about you and what they are saying. 3. Like the other reviewer mentioned, you cannot put a tip on your credit card. I never have cash and always forget this so I always feel terrible and then have to run to an ATM and come back with a tip, which is super inconvenient. read more

They not only do acrylic nails, but mani's and pedi's, facials and a serious eyebrow wax for $10 (they shape according to your face - which is awesome for those who have no idea...) I went here based on the positive reviews and got a pedicure/manicure as well as brow and a lip wax. The mani/pedi was $35 like most places and the waxing was $10 for brow and $7 for lips. Not bad at all. I am only giving three stars for now because my entire left hand's polish became smudged when I went to wash dishes. I had dried them three times in the dryer so you would think that wouldn't happen. But I will give them another try as the waxing was immaculate and the staff was really friendly! One thing to note. Despite all of the signs about needing to give cash tips as opposed to putting them on your card, they let me leave a tip via my debit card which was great! As you can see I never yelp but as of right now I will be..... I am soooo angry I paid this place $30 for a gel manicure. It was the worst gel polish I ever got. I work as a hair stylist/manicurist and occasionally like to get pampered. The manicurist started to apply my gel polish using a shellac base coat and when she applied the gel polish it didn't adhere to the entire nail. She proceeds to apply more and more gel polish making it now 5 coats of gel polish. All over my cuticle and extremely thick! I told her this will not last because the polish around my cuticle will left and take the rest of the polish with it. She continued to argue with me saying she guarantees it will last. Yea it may last but it looks shitty! I went back asking her to do it over and she says she will have to charge me. Ummmmmm excuse me!!! You never ever recharge a unhappy client/customer. I explained to her that it looked awful and how there wasn't any polish on parts of my nails, she blamed my nails saying there is something wrong with my nails it moves the gel polish around. Is that a joke! Again never blame your client for your mishaps. Don't go to this place!!!!!! Never again will I!!!!! Oh and forgot to mention how she kept getting up to leave me and go wax people as they came in. 100% bad service read more

I went in on a Monday for a mani pedi with my mom and as soon as we walked in the process felt rushed. They said they could take us over the phone and when we got there they were short staffed. My mom also got a mani pedi and her services especially felt rushed and she didn't see to get the same experience or "treatment" I did. The nail tech couldn't be bothered to go the extra step and do the full service and just rushed through the process. The manicure was good until I left and noticed the gel polish was stuck onto my skin. I fixed that issue but by the next day my gel was already lifting. It was way past my cuticle and on the sides of my fingers that it caused almost every finger to lift or peel. This is either from lack of experience and or rushing to get the job done. For the amount of money we had paid for the services, we did not get services nearly worth that price. It was our first time going there and definitely our last. I've been to this salon a few times now and have had varying experiences. First time I had the best manicure, my nails were in great shape after which led me to return. The most recent time was extremely disappointing, made an appt and was left waiting 15+ minutes, However i did appreciate how apologetic everyone was. My manicure was going ok until the polish, it seemed like once the woman realized I didn't want gel she just wanted to get my nails done ASAP. She painted my nails in about 1 minute bottom and top coat included, no time to dry in between and completely sped through it. If I would known this was the same place as I used before; I would have NEVER GONE!! They have not changed in 4 years. I went with my daughter and we both weren't happy. We didn't want our nails cut down (already active length) and they did HORRIBLE!!! My nails were squared and NOW rounded, almond shaped & didnt completely fill. I tried to tell the lady but COULDNT UNDERSTAND & talked to each other in their language!! Completely uneven/thin to thick to thin, not smooth which left lines from the drill & bumps! Plus when she did the drill underneath the nail she cut me; woke up this morning finger red, swollen, and hurt!! BEWARE OF THIS PLACE!! I have been here several times and never had an issue until recently. I referred all my friends here because I would always leave the salon satisfied with my nails. I went last week to get my nails done for my wedding, obviously a very important day for my nails to look perfect and I had asked for ombré and no one in the salon could do that so I settled for french and they turned brown in 2 days, I was told to come back once the owner was available. So now it's a day before my wedding and I go back to see the owner, she could tell I was upset with my nails and all she did was paint a fresh coat of white over my nails. My best friend went in and got a full set of dip and 3 fell off before my wedding and returned with me to get them fixed, the owner seemed annoyed with us. Now our nails were "fixed" and one of her nails fell off during my wedding. there is no reason for nails to be popping off left and right. Here we are 3 days after the wedding and both my friend and I nails have completely come off. Sad to say they lost two loyal customers. read more

I have been going here on and off for about 5 years now, however after last night I will not go back again. FINALLY FINISHED. This is the 3rd time this has happened, you make an appointment, show up for it and sit and wait because Tina has taken a walk in 15 minutes before you are scheudled. She thinks nothing of having a regular customer wait for 15-20 minutes from their scheduled time and keeps saying 5 more minutes. Well I have other things to do and schedule accordingly so when you make me wait for another 15-20 minutes after what I scheduled it messes up my other appointments. I ended up walking out last night and going elsewhere. It's all about money for them. Although Tina does a good job- there are others I'm sure who will be just as good. read more

I went here with my sister yesterday to treat her to her first manicure. I haven't had one in a while and we've never been here before, but I was given a gift certificate, so I figured I'd use it. First glance the place looked somewhat clean. I'm a stickler for cleanlines especially in salons that use tools on other people. The owner took my sister and directed me to sit with someone else away from her. There was no one in the salon...so we both sat in silence. I looked back at my sister who looked somewhat horrified, come to find out, she'd been cut multiple times during her manicure and was bleeding a lot. I didn't know this until after, or I would've told her to stop the manicure and we would've left. What a horrible experience for her first time. The lady doing her nails clearly was in a rush because we started the same time and she was done a while before me. Awful. Plus, I noticed that when I got my manicure two different women switched off and the next one who painted them at her station didn't change her tools and had a customer before me! She didn't cut me, but still, I'm still horrified. We'll never go back there and I honestly wouldn't recommend their services. read more
