As a former employee I would not recommend this place and I'm writing this so other people think…read moreabout it before applying here. I was a ecta (Early Childhood Assistant) at Thornton and bright horizons (inside horizon high school) The staff act basically like teenagers, they lack of professionalism, hard to get in contact with coordinators to express concerns. They don't care about you, they just care about having people working and doing their job but not about how you feel or how the work environment is. I just quit last Friday, the classroom I was in had 18 kids some with special needs and bad behavioral issues. The teacher over there didn't want to take advise from anyone and just wanted to do her way and the classroom was a completely disaster it was impossible to do activities with them or circle time. Last year they had 4 classrooms open and they decided to close two, so they had the bright idea of put all 18 kids in each classroom and not enough staff. They only have 3 ects, no site director a bunch of subs and the "specialist" just stare at you and watch you struggle with the kids and just take notes and leave the room. The coordinators knew what was happening and did nothing about it, they kept enrolling kids knowing they didn't had enough staff to cover. It was a truly safety concern being in that classroom, kids had really bad behavior issues, I think if we didn't had a lot of kids or at lest enough help I wouldn't had left but since the coordinator didn't care at all I had to put myself first at left. When I let her know I was not coming back and they saw how bad it was they finally decided to do something about it. I'm just thankful nothing bad happened when I was there because I don't think those parents would have believed me if I tell them how bad that classroom was. If you are thinking about applying at this district specially preschoool just know coordinators and teachers love to gossip around, are not professional, are selfish and don't care about staff and the people that are there trying to help.

It's All About the People…read more I had a chance to visit Adams during the holiday break. Many of the employees volunteer their time to make Christmas extra special for the children. I was lucky enough to be Santa's helper. He came in on a firetruck and greeted all of the kids, much to their delight. Then, the kiddos had a chance to sit on Kris Kringle's lap. They got to tell ole Saint Nicholas what they wanted for Christmas while I took pictures. Thanks to the wonderful volunteer effort, parents got to have the pictures with Santa processed and printed before leaving. It was really a special time. Thank you to all of the Adams 12 employees who volunteer each year and bring smiles to little faces.

There is not enough words to explain how top notch Meryl is. I'm fighting back tears writing this…read morebecause without her, I couldn't do this .Even myself being an educator in the Special Education field, she is who I need to make sure all is done right for my Son! There is not enough words to express the amazing work she does. She is our Angel without a doubt. She is fierce, loyal, dedicated and beyond supportive to our Family. She speaks her mind and it can be very straight to the point when things seem not right , she advocates firecely for children like my Son, Mason. She has become family to us. She has preserved and has been my rock through some extremely tough educational trauma our family and my son has with Schools we have encountered. She fights for my Child's accommodations and making sure his goals are on point. She is always there promptly , even when my anxiety starts she is there, there has been some evenings of tears and she is on that phone with me, no hesitation to tell me, we got this. Meryl acts on things in such a professional but straight to the point demeanor. I love that about her! I love her authenticity and her passion for helping advocate for Children with Special Needs. She will forever be apart of our lives and I can't wait for her to see Mason graduate one day! It's all from her amazing advocacy ! She fights for the rights of these kids and I can't thank her enough. If anyone needs an advocate, she is the one who will fight with passion and dedication to make sure your Child gets what they deserve. I let everyone I know if they need an amazing advocate, she is it!!! Meryl, thank you so much. You are stuck with us for many more years to come! We love you! ~Jessica

We've been taking our now 9-year-old son here for about a year. He has had a lot of anxiety and…read morerigidity, and counseling here has helped a lot. His anxiety has diminished greatly, and he's more flexible in many ways. He's also become more aware of his body and his emotions and is better able to regulate himself. The approach here is "play therapy", which I don't understand very well, but it is a way for children to express their worries and concerns through games and role-playing of various sorts. Our son always enjoys his sessions. The practice here is based on neuro-science rather than behavioral science, but it's a very practical approach and the counselor always offers lots of specific actions parents can take, and things to do today. No matter what specific problem we bring her, she always has a way to attack it. The approach is based partly on Siegel and Bryson's book "The Whole Brain Child", which she recommends to her clients.

We met with Denise and Amanda and we were so impressed with the facility, we signed our kids up right then and there. We love the variety of their education and how they move from classroom to classroom. We love Make Believe Boulevard (an indoor mini city where the kids can use their imagination to play, complete with a slide and ball pit), that Spanish is taught, they do learning bags on Fridays that the kids share an item of what they learned that week and hands down we both love the interactive LEAP Digital board and corresponding LEAP books. The teachers are amazing, very hands on and compassionate. Jelena and Liz in Toddler 2 class, our 2.5 year old absolutely adores. When we first started, we expressed how we wanted our then 2.5 year old potty trained, and within 1 week after attending there, she was. They were so patient and kind with the potty training our daughter took right to it. Corrie in the Pre-K class is so friendly and patient with the kids. Our 5 year old always came home with new songs or ideas she learned from Ms. Corrie. We were so impressed and just love all the staff there: Denise, Amanda, and Samantha at the front are super friendly and do whatever they can to accommodate your family (our youngest is in speech therapy). There are so many great things about this school and the wonderful teachers I would highly recommend this daycare to anyone looking for quality care for your kids.
