I'm about 4 visits over the past 2 years. I love the availability and flexibility with scheduling. I love how cute my baby looks after her visit. I don't love the prices, but I'm not sure if they're reasonable priced or not because I've never taken my dog niece anywhere else. On our first visit 2 years ago I paid around $60 bucks. On my last visit I paid $75 for the "Summer Cut". Sometimes I don't believe the clip her nails. On our last visit I was sure to say, please click her nails. This time I could tell it was done, not sure if its done every time. I don't like the smell in the place. I have no idea what it is and why it smells so strange. On our last visit, it didn't smell as bad and the place was cleaner. Parking can be a sticker.

I've been to Prince Benji's twice now. The second time they cut my dogs hair too short :( However, they do a good job. They are very efficient and convenient. You can make an appointment the same day and they will get you in. The employees are very friendly and they groom your pet in about 30 mins. They give your fur baby a little bandanna and spray puppy cologne on them. I don't live that close to This place but it's worth the drive.

If I could give this place a 0 I would. You guys permanently damaged my Pomeranians hair. I took 2 of my dogs in months ago to fix some light matting and get them back on track, and not only did you use an electric razor on them, you permanently damaged my dogs hair!! Since then, her skin has changed colors, none of it has grown back, one of the dogs has been getting repeat scabs on the side of his leg. This isn't okay!! Please do not take your double coated dogs here.

I wanted to get my pip groomed before Thanksgiving since family would be in town. This place was recommended by a friend of friend Simple appt set up over the phone. Very straight to the point. Just tell them what time you want to bring your pup. They seem pretty accommodating. Groomed my pup in 1 hour (though they said 2 hours to be safe since it was her first time there). I heard the Towson location had better parking but we haven't tried it yet. Her hair is still pretty low so it should last.

Their services are absolutely wonderful. I called the day of and they were willing to give my oil his first haircut. They have him the perfect cute, just what I asked for. Price was very reasonable and staff was extremely friendly. Will be going back to then on the near future for his next cut.

I was super nervous to drop off my pup for the first time with strangers. He's only 4 months old and we've not left him alone for more than 2 hours at a time. After many recommendations from other doodle parents, we chose Prince Benji as our first stop on the grooming tour. I think we'll stay! Theo looks amazing! He's so soft and fluffy and smells so good! He's primed and ready for family holiday photos. We will definitely be returning every 6 weeks for Theo's grooming. Price is about what we'd expect. Our puppy is already 34 lbs so he's a big guy and had a lot of puppy fluff.

My Shorkie Tzu Pup...Her name is "Munchkin" and she's half Yorkie and Half Shih Tzu. She's 3 months old today 10/21/23 and I decided she needed her first grooming. I took her to Prince Benji on 41st street in Baltimore Maryland, across from Giants shopping center. I called the day before and was able to get an appointment for the next morning at 9am. Prince Benji are very nice people, they welcome, greeted me and said my pup would be ready in two hours. I hung around the shopping area and to my surprise Prince Benji called saying my pup was ready and it had only been 1 hour...happy about that. I picked my pup up and all smiles from me...Prince Benji had my "Munchkins" looking so cute with pink bows in her hair. My pup is only 3 months, Prince Benji recommended not too much hair taken off, just the puppy cut and I agreed. I was very pleased with the cut Prince Benji gave my pup. My pup smelled like she had been washed, groomed...smelling fresh and clean. I then took my pup home, where she ate, pooped, peed and went to sleep. Best of all my Pup was so excited to see me and glad to be back home...that made my whole day. Just picked up my sweet goldendoodle! He looks great and is exactly what I wanted! The owner was quick and efficient and called as soon as he was ready (about 2 hours). They also do not crate all the dogs which I love. Alittle on the pricey side but absolutely worth the price when you take all the good things about this place into account. Definitely will be back!

I will definitely be coming back to Prince Benji's! I was able to make a same day appointment (whereas other salons has a 2 week wait list), the price was comparable to what I pay in Columbia, MD and my pup was clean and tidy within 2 hours! The groomers there were so kind, and called me as soon as he was done. If you're in the Hampden area, I would recommend.

On December 23, I called around to several groomers, including mobile groomers and everyone was super busy and was booked months out. I called and got an appointment for my 3 dogs. They were done in 3 hours and were adorable!!! read more

I've taken my Mini Poodle here several times. I like how they get my dog in right away, I like how they don't take all day to groom him, they get done pretty fast but that also makes me wonder are the dogs getting bathed? My mini poodle is a little fiesty, and I'm hoping they dont use force or mistreatment to get these dogs groomed. My dog gets scared when I take him there. I know he could just be nervous and scared. I don't like the smell of perfume/ cologne they use, and the place smells so freaking bad. read more

I have a nervous Australian Labradoodle and was worried for his first haircut with me. Customer service was A++ and Hunter was perfectly calm and happy when I picked him up. AND his haircut looks AMAZING. She also fit me in immediately, working seamlessly with my schedule. I've seen horror stories of people asking for a short summer cut and receiving a rat-looking dog but she did an awesome job. I would recommend Prince Benji to any dog owner in Baltimore or even outside the city. read more

Couldn't ask for anything better. Good price, great work, and SO FLEXIBLE! You can text for an appointment and I've never had to wait more than a couple days to get Zuri in. Whatever shampoo they use makes her smell extra clean. read more

Pretty expensive for a groom that wasn't what I asked for. I asked for my doodles face to be cut so that his hair was longer on the top of his head (rather than buzzed one length) and angled down toward his ears. Took one star off for the price (it was $100 before tip- at other groomers have paid around $70 before tip) and one star off for not getting face hair style that I wanted. Also my pup doesn't smell as good as he does coming from other groomers. Pros were that it's easy to get an appointment and the groomers are very friendly. read more

We cannot say enough wonderful things about Prince Benji. We have two Standard Poodles who are greeted like family with precision cuts each and every time. Our 40lb poodle mix got a great haircut here! They were able to schedule us right away, and a full groom took about an hour. The groomer did exactly what I was hoping for, and did an extra nice job with the face shaping. It is always a bit scary to leave your pet with someone new, but she was calm and relaxed when we went to pick her up. We will definitely be repeat customers! read more

We just had our 2nd cut, and asked for a shorter summer look. I will say we did spend an hour the night before brushing our pup out, and it certainly helped with the grooming I think--she was finished in 90 min and looks amazing! read more

I've taken my dog to Prince Benji 3 times now (every 3 months) and they do a great job every time! I absolutely love that I can call and they get him in whenever works for me, within a few days. I've had to wait a couple months for other groomers in the area, and they didn't do even close to as good of a job as Prince Benji. Other groomers cut his hair too short and messed up his undercoat, and made his ears look choppy. Prince Benji trimmed him up perfectly. And he's so soft and smells great afterward. I also love that when I come pick him up, he's chilling on their couch looking out the window, not cooped up in a cage. Would definitely recommend! read more

Phenomenal work, good pricing, and flexible with appointments. Other groomers weren't taken appointments until next month and even the mobile groomers were very pricey for her size. I called this groomer and the lady said no problem bring her in and drop off. She was done within 1 1/2 hour. My doodle and I love Prince Benji. Hee Jung is polite, available, and treats my baby like her own. After the dogs are done being groomed, they don't stay in crates while waiting for pick up (unless required.) My pup doesn't require it, but she doesn't like being with the other "waiting dogs." She hangs out with Hee and watches other dogs get groomed. Hee calls when my girl is done so I can get her right away; usually 2 hours or so. The doodle is relaxed and happy when I pick her up. The only negative is the parking, but it's worth the aggravation when I know my baby will be taken care of! read more

Absolutely love this place! I had been calling around places in the city, but many could not fit me in until 2-3 months later. I called at 11am, and she fit me in that afternoon at 3pm. My dog was done within 2 hours, and it was seriously the best cut he's ever gotten. He is a typically very shaggy dog, and I specified I wanted a lighter coat for the summer, but not a shave. His finished cut was perfect. (The last place I went ended up giving him a level 2 shave) I'm extremely satisfied. Will definitely return. read more

Look nowhere else! This is the groomer we use for our goldendoodle and we are happy each and every time we pick him up. He is happy to walk in which means he treated well here. Love that they do not have tons of dogs running around, each time we have been its only been 2-3 dogs at most and none are crated which is nice. He comes back with a cute cut (not shaved!) each time and smells SO GOOD! Highly recommend. read more

I was nervous at first. I am so used to Petco or PetSmart..but this place is great. Its in a small house and they have system set up really nice. My favorite part is after you give your telephone number they store it in their phone...so when you call they already know who you are, your name, your dogs name and greet you like family. We have an 8 year old, rescue, Japanese Chin and Prince Benji's did a wonderful job sprucing him up! The groomer/owner, Hee Jung, was so sweet and trimmed our pup up exactly how we asked. He usually grumbles at being picked up, but she made him feel comfortable and scooped him up without any trouble. We got an appointment very quickly and will definitely be back! read more

I rarely give bad reviews however I was not satisfied with my 11 year old Maltipoo's poor groom. When I told the owner that she looked as though she had not been bathed or blow dried well, the owner acted as though she could not understand my English. I talked to her about it for 10 mins and she tried to tell me that it was my dogs hair color that was making her look dirty and unkept immediately after the groom. I should've realize something wasn't professional when she never asked for any rabies records as most professional groomers require. Also She could have offered to wash/blow again but never offered. It was a first and a last for us...wasted $60... read more

What an awesome first time experience for me as a dog owner and for my yorkipoo kobe! My dog had really long MATTED hair. His hair condition was really bad when taking him to get groomed. I brought my Black Russian Terrier puppy here when she was 4 months old to get groomed. I was met with friendly faces and the owner was already familiar with the breed & knew how to groom my girl. They finished fast (within 2 hours) and when I picked my puppy up, she was chillin' in the lobby having a grand time. They are a cage free groomer and you can tell they love their doggy clients. i have a mixed feeling about this place. I take my dog to be groomed every 3-4 months and yes, my dog is an older senior dog but having his hair cut short was never a problem. they called me back 45 minutes after the appointment time (which feels really short, there were about 5 other dogs being seen at the same time). when I went to pick him up they kept saying how old and stressed the dog is, and i saw my dog with his nose bleeding (never saw my dog like that before!). he was so stressed out after this experience. the owners seem nice but they kept saying that my dog was old, like... is that a bad thing..? my dog is feeling a bit better now, he smells and looks good but he was so traumatized when i picked him up. not sure if i'd want to go back :( read more

Ok so I'm seriously hesitant to leave this review cause I'm afraid they will get so booked we would have to wait This place is amazing! Finally I found a place where they don't hold your dog hostage for the whole day. I was able to drop him off and pick him up after 2 hours. He had a traumatic experience at Petco and now hates sitting in crates. Here they don't overbook and able to keep My doggy happy and relax. Highly recommended. read more

We've been bringing our terrier here for the last several months now. We used to go to Hair Off the Dog in Canton, but now we always go to Prince Benji. Appts are so easy, she has taken us same day several times. They're also very fast, our dog is ready in two hours or less. Lastly my dog isn't shaking and miserable at drop-off/pick up, so it's been a very positive grooming experience for us compared to others. read more

I just brought our 18-pound mixed terrier Maggie home from a grooming at the new place on 41st Street, Prince Benji. They did a great grooming job, plus nails, cleaning teeth, and cleaning ears for a very reasonable price ($65). The owners were extremely nice. One thing I liked to see was that their entry room was warm and inviting. They are on the south side of 41st Street, a couple of buildings down on 41st just after you turn right on Roland; past the Giant strip mall if coming off of Falls. I recommend giving them a try; i certainly am happy with the results. read more

I called this groomer on Thursday and my dog was taken care of on Friday! My dog was apprehensive but the groomer made her feel welcomed. She bent down to her level and gently petted her. I really liked that because it showed me she really cares about animals. I was impressed at how clean looking and fresh smelling the shop was. I filled out my information and the groomer asked how I wanted my dog cut and I told her. She called me when she was finished. To my surprise my dog looked great! She wasn't waiting in a cage but resting on the floor looking so cute! The groomer put a festive bow on her. I am very please to say I will be back to Prince Benji! I also want to thank other YELP commenter because I use what I read to make my decision to patronize a particular business. read more

Meet the Business Owner: Hee Jung J.

Hee Jung's life began in traditional Korea on an island, Nahmae, off the south coast. As the only girl and the youngest of 6 siblings, she learned dexterity with scissors and knives from her mother in domestic chores needed for survival. Thereafter her family struggled to give her an education where she later received degrees in Education and Nursing. Years later she came to America and quickly advanced in grooming with her high dexterity hands, trained from childhood. Further, she is preoccupied with a dog's health, including skin legions, ear cleaning, treating both ear and eye infections, and teeth cleaning. Hee Jung further loves each dog as her own, talking to them, stroking them and otherwise soothing them. She has often groomed dogs otherwise considered not groomable.

I told her exactly what I wanted and the communication was excellent. I came back to pick Hendrix up from daycare and he was beautifully groomed and tired from running all day. It was GREAT! :). If your dog is a member of the daycare, they just add her bill to your overall bill. It was just so easy. Unlike the ear test from Maryland Mobile, 3 days later and there is NO EAR WAX. Melissa actually cleaned his ears and didn't just say she did. And he smells AMAZING! It's been a while since his fur looked so shiny. I feel I can trust my pup with her.

Once you have gone through the initial enrolling process and gotten into their system, you fill in a request for service online and they contact you within 24 hours (usually it is closer to 12 hours). During stays, Best Friends Fur Ever have great communication. Sometimes they will upload pictures. They will reach out with any issues they have and respond quickly if you have any questions. The employees here clearly love dogs. No matter who the employee is, when we go to drop our dog off they get really excited to see our dog. He, in turn, gets excited to see them. We love that Best Friends Fur Ever will take care of grooming needs while we are away. If possible, they will trim nails, bathe them and express their anal glands. Finally, the biggest reason we choose Best Friends Fur Ever, is our dog always seems well taken care of when we return to get him. If he is happy, we are happy.

We were concerned that she was suffering and convinced ourselves that a trip to the vet would end up with euthanasia. For this reason, we decided a home passing was best. Dr. Zakai evaluated our darling Bonnie and determined she still had quality of life. The weight lifted off our shoulders and we immediately made an appointment with our local vet. I am extremely grateful to Home with Dignity and Dr. Zakai. He was so kind and caring, answered all of our questions and put our minds at ease. Our girl is 21 years old, and her time will eventually come. When that time is upon us, we will definitely call Home with Dignity. The compassion shown to us today was beyond anything we could have imagined.

This place is fantastic. The groomers are some of the nicest people and really care about dogs. I brought my long haired chihuahua in to get a puppy cut as he does not do well with all that hair in the summer. When I explained what I wanted, the groomer pulled up an image on her phone of another dog she had groomed in the same fashion and it was exactly what I was looking for. When they were finished and I was on my way to pick him up, they texted me a photo of him sitting with the groomer on one of the chairs, which was pretty impressive because my dog is very picky about who he'll let hold him. When I got there, he was still sitting with the groomer, wagging his tail. They did a fantastic job! Not only did they groom him perfectly, they use a grinder for the nails, so there are no sharp points, they cleaned his ears and his teeth! No groomer I've ever been to has done teeth cleaning. All for less than I've paid for any other groomer I've taken him to in this neighborhood. I will be bringing my other long haired chihuahua there to get him groomed as well. One of my Pugs had an appointment to get a Bath, Ears cleaned, and Nails clipped. He was in an out in about 20 minutes. There's no way he was given a Bath (he was only damp to the touch). Pugs (due to their hair) take a very long time to dry. I think he was only sprayed so he would smell good. I'm not even sure if his ears were cleaned. I called back, got apologies and was asked to bring he back. Unfortunately, I was halfway home and asked Seung or Siyung to make a note for next time and get me credit for the missed work done, which she agreed to do. Once I got home, I noticed blood spots on the floor. After checking my Pug, I found that two of his cut nails were bleeding. I called again and was told to simply hold the areas tight until they stop bleeding. This was only my third time there. The first two there was an older lady at the front desk this time she was not there. To sum it all up, I WILL NOT BEING GOING BACK read more

Just took my flat coat retriever for a long overdue grooming appointment at Prince Benji. Great experience. I called to make an appointment, and they were very friendly over the phone. I was able to get my dog in the next day, and the groomer was very nice and let me leave the dog at Prince Benji's until I was able to pick him up after work. We got the works--shampoo, ears, nails, teeth and a haircut--and the price was unbeatable. Both the ease of getting an appointment and the price beat out most groomers for me. Convenient location and very clean facilities (with parking). My dog looks fantastic and is so much happier with a short haircut in this heat! I have been in search for a groomer for several months. A friend suggested that I look into Prince Benji. I stopped by to check out the business & see if they could give my pup the haircut that I wanted. Heejung, the owner, was awesome!! She was able to fit Polly in that day & made her beautiful & just the way I wanted. Polly has trust issues & can be anxious & shy around new people. When I went to pick her up, Polly was sitting in a lounge area with the owners acting as if she lived there. The salon is clean and quiet and the groomer is lovely--polite, pleasant and treated the "girls" like royalty. This business is very efficient and friendly. They do excellent work at reasonable prices, and are available on short notice. We have a rescued miniature poodle who gets groomed every six weeks and bathed every three weeks.
