This is my 3rd time going, all 3 times I've had a different stylist. I liked Kelly Day and Lindsay Bofenkamp the most, they took their time and listened to what I wanted, it felt like they were very personable and sincerely cared about my look. I defiantly walked out and felt I got the haircut I wanted with the layers and details I asked for. I however, felt rushed by Sarah,it didn't feel like she really listened to me or wanted to maybe it was an off day, people do have those, she did seem like a genuinely nice person but I just felt like an inconvenience to her. I would recommend this place to anyone, specially people who choose a chemical free lifestyle. Prices vary from stylist to stylist and for $35 I think ur getting a nice deal of a shampoo and haircut. read more

I had never been here before but wanted to get a cut and color for my graduation. This place is on the second floor of an office building so it can be kind of hard to find (there is a bold sign for Primp on the window outside of the building entrance) but I actually prefer this small salon to the bigger ones in old town Fort Collins because the smaller ones seem much more quiet and personal. I went to see Laila and told her I wanted a balayage kind of look with darker tones than my natural lighter brown hair. She knew exactly what I wanted and recommended a color melt in order to avoid bleaching/highlighting and to keep the appointment quick and my hair low maintenance going forward since I can rarely afford to get my hair done.. It was a really good balance of listening to me but also adding her own creativity into the process to get me the look I wanted and I was in and out in 2 hours. She nailed the color and cut and was super friendly! Got all that for only $150 too, which is a decent price compared to some other salons that would have charged upwards of $200. She even mixed up another color and tinted my eyebrows at no extra charge. I'd highly recommend this place and especially Laila, she is wonderful! read more

Can only speak to the quality of hair done for myself and my bridesmaids--poor! I did a bridal hair and make up consultation. I was decently pleased by the hair, so I booked the stylist for hair for myself and my bridesmaids. I ended up deciding against using Primp for my make up because the stylist straight up wouldn't listen to me on palette direction at all, assuring me, "you'll want this, you'll want this look, trust me." On the day of, the stylist was sick but still showed up. On one hand, props to her for muscling through it. On the other, stop sneezing and getting snot in our hair! She didn't remember doing my consultation and hadn't reminded herself with the photos on her phone that she'd taken. Once reminded, she promptly did something significantly different. Hair was done three hours before the ceremony--nothing crazy--but it still fell apart before even we were done with pre-ceremony photos. Two of my bridesmaids redid their hair after the stylist left. Would not recommend for special events. read more

My boyfriend and I tried this place for the first time together. I scheduled my appointment here first by a woman named Kesley. She was so professional, nice and super outgoing, it made the time very enjoyable and she did an awesome job on my hair. Since I had such a great experience we kept my boyfriend's appointment in the afternoon with a woman named Kelly. To sum up his whole experience with his words: "I'm never going back there." Kelly told very inappropriate information about her personal life to him, for his entire haircut. I'm so disappointed since I had such a great experience with Kesley, I haven't decided yet if this is a place either of us will try again. read more

Love Kesley! She's awesome. She listens to what you want and knows what she's doing. She uses good products and doesn't push anything on you like other salons will. I've gone to Sarah at this salon for years and have always been happy with the results. She has done the best job of any hairdresser yet on my hair color, and I am extremely picky. She uses organic hair dye, which is nice, but it doesn't seem to last as long as traditional dyes. She is also able to tame my crazy curly hair with a quality cut and is very careful not to cut off more than is requested; in fact, she usually errs on the side of caution. Sarah is friendly and a great conversationalist, but she isn't so chatty that it's annoying. read more

Moving is stressful enough, but when you know you also need to find a good hairstylist, it adds to the stress. I chose to try Primp based on the proximity to where I live and the positive reviews here. Sarah was my stylist. I'm happy to say that my experience was very positive. I liked Sarah instantly! She is very friendly, listened to my needs and gave me an amazing cut. The salon is comfortable and I like that they use natural non-irritating products since I have severe allergies. Horrible experience. Sat there for an hour after my appointment time was supposed to start while she took her time with the other person, then didn't even apologize. Didn't listen to what I wanted at all and I absolutely hated the color after being charged a ridiculous amount. I was given the exact opposite of what I asked for. When I asked to have it fixed they said they'd have to charge me another crazy amount. Will never go back. read more

Georgia Michelle is the stylist who cut my hair. Recovering from Cancer my hair has suffered greatly due to medications and Radiation. I've always had very long hair. Prior to seeing Georgia I had it trimmed 4" in January elsewhere, bringing my hair up to my waist. However, my hair loss remained pretty substantial. I know it needed to be cut shorter, but I was thinking another 4"; Georgia said 5" would be better. Anyway, I settled on 5" within myself, however it turned out to be 7" - a good 2" shorter than we talked about. My primary concern was having my top cut shorter, as it had grown out being hospitalized so long plus rehab plus an earlier procedure. Starting January my top had grown to the point I pulled it back securing it with hair pins. I really wanted to get rid of those hair pins and get some style back. I knew what it would take to make me feel better about myself. The result is hair much shorter than I agreed to plus my top remains the same, and I kept asking about my top. She kept saying, "I'm not done with it yet." She ended up combing my top to the side, it naturally hung in my face & she said that I'll just have to get used to that. My thought was I'll just go to someone else for my top not realizing at that time just how short my hair really was. She never did turn me around with a mirror in hand to see my back. My referral to Georgia said I could trust her, so I did. After leaving & within a very short time I realized that I couldn't reach my hair when reaching back to touch it. When I got home, I measured with a ruler & mirror to see just how short it was - 7" shorter. That 2" difference makes a HUGE difference to me. I mentioned to Georgia that several years ago a hair stylist cut my hair terribly wrong & it took a good 2 years to recover from that. Well, I'm now going to have to grow 2 years again. I called Georgia to let her know how I feel. She called back apologizing saying she did the best she could. I said that doesn't help me, and I'm right back where I was when I walked into the salon except my hair is far, far shorter than it should be. She said, "It'll grow back!" I said it all boiled down to her not listening. I even gave her a card with my picture showing how my top should be. She did not even offer to have me come back in and cut my top the way I want. I'm not sure I would have done that had she offered, but it would have helped me feel a little better. All she did say was it's best we go our separate ways...... She just flat didn't listen, and instead of feeling better about myself, I've paid a high price for heartache. Instead of listening, she's added to my struggle for recovery. While there I was also hurt by comments she made when I said my hair used to be much longer. She was sarcastic about my hair length and my heritage, Native American, which I didn't appreciate. "Why would you want to do that?" (grow my hair so long). It doesn't matter why - that took me back. "Culture, heritage" (thinking I wanted to and it's none of her business why). You hair always been black? Yes. Because of Native American? Yes. These comments were not said in a positive light. Throughout my life I've learned well the difference between curiosity, which is always welcome, and sarcasm. Her tone was the latter. Calling her later I said I didn't appreciate her questions/comment @ my heritage. When she called back, she insisted that was not the case, but it definitely did not feel that way. Also she kept taking pictures without asking me nor did she show them to me. Made me very uncomfortable. I've since asked that these pictures be deleted, but have a feeling I'll never hear from anyone. Her lack of care & concern - pretty sad overall. What she did is cruel. I'm sorry I went to her. P.S. Sarah Hardin did call 3/16/16 apologizing for what happened, said she talked with Georgia, my photos are deleted & offered a refund. Nice of her to do but I can't go back. read more

My hair color was ok. I didn't like it. My haircut was disappointing. Every time I looked in the mirror I hated it. I'm surprised people gave this place good reviews.. It's definitely not worth the money. Save your money for the good salon. I would not recommend this salon at all. read more

I had a very unfortunate experience at this studio. Perhaps Sarah just assumes older women want a certain look and despite the fact we discussed cutting my hair short, we agreed just below the ears. I also made a point of telling her I did not want to lose my curls. Well, it was just below the ears...in front. I didn't realize, until I felt the scissors on my scalp, that the back was sheared to almost nothing. It was so short that for a week afterwards I couldn't put my head back on my pillow because it was too prickly. She did leave a giant bump of hair at the crown and it did taper to just below my ears in the front, but I was (and still am) freaked. I asked her to fix it and she couldn't fit me in for five days. I then realized I never wanted this woman to touch my hair again. I had it fixed at a barber shop and am having to wear my hair very short so the back can catch up with the rest of my hair. I'm glad all the young women are having a good experience, but mine has been a month long (and still going) nightmare. I've never had such a WRONG haircut. read more
