This was some of the worst pizza I've ever had. We ordered two pizzas for delivery, one pepperoni and one mushroom. The pepperoni pie had zero pepperoni on it (even though we were charged) and the mushroom pie had a few small pieces of mushroom. The crust was nearly tasteless - like something you'd expect in a bad school cafeteria meal. Definitely not worth the price or the time. read more

Came in for a quick slice as I was in the neighborhood and was generally unimpressed. The place was spacious and empty when I came by, about 6:30. Pizza was almost cardboard-like and had a rubbery tasting cheese. Maybe I came in on a bad night, but I wasnt impressed. The garlic bread was okay, and the prices weren't bad for the area. My friend was visiting from out of town and only had two hours in between meetings to come say Hi! He wanted to try a bunch of "Chicago food" and there wasn't one spot that I could decide on, so instead I chose to check out Primos because their menu looked HUGE. This popular lunch spot had everything I was looking for: pizza, Italian Beef, and pasta. Sure it all sounds overkill on the carby side, but this was exactly what my friend wanted. Not only was their menu vast but their portions and offerings were just as large as well. Nearly all the items come with some soup to accompany your already heavy meal. We ordered everything I listed above and enjoyed two spinach-chowders as a side. The chowder was pretty salty so we barely touched it to be honest. However, the real mission were the pizzas and Italian beef sandwiches. The thin crust pizza was decent and the Italian beef was the clear winner of the two. It's not as good as Al's or Porto's but I feel you get a much bigger portion here at Primos. Oh, we didn't end there. We also ordered their Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo (yes we were crazy) which was toasted up in a tin tray. The piping hot pasta ended up being my favorite of the three main dishes that we ordered. In the future, I think I'll stick with either the pasta or the Italia beef. Overall, this is a great lunch spot if you're feeling indecisive and need a spot with plenty of options to choose from for affordable prices. read more

About a mile walking distance from the Amtrak station. I had a brief layover and decided to walk to grab a bite to eat before my next departure. I called ahead and placed my order. Once I arrived my pizza was being pulled out of the oven. Fresh hot and ready. Service was attentive. Slices are HUGE. A little gem in the west loop! If you are looking for an affordable place to eat while in the west loop, check them out. Great pizza, sandwiches and soup! My husband and I would come here often for lunch when he use to work in the west loop and the owners were always there working behind the counter. This was years ago, and I haven't seen them recently but very nice people. I recently came back when I was in the area and the food is still excellent! I've been going to this place for the past couple of yrs, and the service now is absolutely terrible. I go here for lunch today and I waited 15 mins and then ask if my food was ready, only to find out, they haven't even started my order. The young man goes to make my food with no gloves on, though he just took money by hand from the previous couple of customers. No compensation for my time wasted, only an "I'm sry for the wait". He proceeds to make my sandwich with no mayo, tomato, lettuce, or anything else to go with it. I'm so over this place and this is back to back times going there with terrible service. I ordered a salad with no green peppers for $9 and received about a whole pepper cut up and places throughout my salad made of iceberg lettuce and some sliced tomato. Then for the "Chicago pizza." I like this pizza. They usually have a variety of slices available. Its got like a cracker crust if you like that. They got a nice two Chicago Dog lunch special. Big slices kinda like a New York style Pizzeria. They have a variety of high quality soups available daily also. They have some other things like italian beef and pastas. I don't usually mess with that. Not a fancy place. They got a bathroom. Kinda just a neighborhood pizza place. Clean, ingredients are fresh, not greasy, people are lined at lunch. In good news about Primos, this is like the 3-4th time I've tried going there and they were actually open this time. I guess someone there has finally figured out the hours situation and they were saying they've changed their approach. Right now they're open until 7pm M-F and soon they're going to do 11pm Mon-Sat. So that's kind of cool. So I was actually able to go in and try the pizza today. :) On that topic... Never heard of a pizza place that doesn't carry cheese pizza by default. Doesn't everyone just have a good slice of cheese? They had some basil and tomato pizza, which is close... but I really just wanted a slice of plain cheese. The basil pizza didn't even have a tomato sauce base. It had a few tomatoes on top and some kind of crushed up tomatoes across the top as well, but that doesn't make up for tomato sauce across the entire pizza. I asked about getting just cheese and they said this is more popular. The only other option was I'd have to order an entire pie, which I wasn't about to do. Nice casual option for lunch. The menu is a little confusing .. we all were perplexed with mysterious soups being included with our sandwiches (could we have picked one first?) Not sure if meant to be but it could be because they don't hand out numbers or anything. Pizza is their thing... everyone enjoyed it. The rest is mediocre (beef sandwich) to bad (cream of chicken soup). The cream of chicken soup we all joked looked (and tasted a little) like Wallpaper Paste. (not that i tasted wallpaper paste, but it is how I imagined it to taste). I also had another vegetarian bean soup that someone else pawned off on me being the soup lover I am, but I agreed it was inedible. The only soup that was decent per our party of 8 was the Tomato Basil. I had a ceaser salad as well but they didn't have a side option apparently and it basically was lettuce and a split hard boiled egg with lots of creamy dressing and parmesan. Not worth as an entree... Side salad would have been smarter. The pasta I personally didn't have but reports on the chicken parmesan were positive. That being said, don't order it if you don't want leftovers and feel guilty about waste because the portions are HUGE.. like enough for 3 meals. My recommendation would be to put this place in your rotation if you want a pizza and side salad or pasta to take home to the family for dinner as it would feed 3 people. read more

The man that owns this place is extremely nice and the service here is great. It's quick and simple. I got a chicken parm and cream of chicken soup. The cream of chicken soup was quite salty even after adding the whole entire bag of crackers in. The chicken parm on the other hand felt like it didn't have enough sauce for the ratio of noodles? But you have great bang for your buck. I also got pizza at the end for some friends. You don't have to wait long and you get copious amounts of food. Very bland and extremely greasy. I tried reheating it on the stove and still, no dice. I'm a pretty generous star-giver, but I can't give more than two for this one. I just recently tried this place because it is right around the block from my work. I ordered a slice if sausage and an order of mushrooms. This is probably the most trash pizza I've ever had. Now there's pizza that doesn't have the right recipe or is bland. Very few pizza places taste flat out bad but this is one of them.
